Dida puts on a brave face, but tears still run from her eyes. "If the rest of the family is dead, then Claudia is the heir to this villa and needs to be protected. The master had a friend nearby, who he served with in the legions. I do not know his name, but his villa is nearby, and has small vineyard and winery. You may have seen it. Can you bring us there?"

Downstairs:

Unlike the main house, the work shop has not been ransacked. But apart from the furniture, some rolls of leather, and a few corpses, there is little of interest in the room.

"Then that is what we will do." Angel replies as kindly as she could, "Can you ride my Dear? My Mount will bear us both and the little one."

Galanis helps Ari with the search and then returns to the yard outside. If there is nothing more to search he will enter the house, find Angel and say, "All clear. We should move quickly before that necromancer produces a full army..."

Sometimes lady luck hides her face at me, especially for Galanis character. But in average unseen servant didn't gave me too hard life so far.

Liri nods. "Yes, we will bring you there." To herself, she thinks »I hope that more people are alive there«.

"Agreed. Dida and Claudia are coming with us, we are taking them to a friend." Angel replies leading Glanis outside the room and out of earshot, "The Girl is badly shaken, she thinks she will be accused of running away. Perhaps this good deed will help with our problem."

Ari nods and heads back.

"Dida and Claudia?" Galanis nodes to the woman but a question is written on his face, "A friend? What exactly are we speaking of?" Galanis asks wondering if the woman was a servant here.

OOC: Dida might know about secret places in the house as the owner, but Galanis doesn't know who she is yet.

(The conversation between Galanis and Angel is held out of the Girls earshot)

"I believe she is a nursemaid, rather than the Girls Mother, she doesnt have the look of a Lady.. Her friend is in the Villa we passed, if we help her, they might be more inclined to help us." Angel explains quietly.

"Sure," Galanis agrees, "At least we can help somewhat..."

OOC: How long was the drive between the villas?

"Yes we can. And that is what we do." She doesnt say it, she didnt have to.. perhaps this small thing might help to ease her feelings over Salia.

Dida pulls a long cloth from one of the armoires and uses it to fashion a sling to secure the baby to her chest. Then she digs her own cloak from a bag on the floor, and ties it on, then fills the remaining space in the bag with her own meager belongings. She heads for the door, stopping only to pick up a rattle from the crib and tuck it in with Claudia.

On the landing Dido lets out a sudden, piercing wail at the sight of the twice slain children. It takes a quick move from Liri to turn the girl away from the corpses and towards the stairway, and some effort to get her down the stairs safely.

By the time she reached the courtyard, however, Dida has regained her composure, and stands ready to give directions to the villa of her master's friend. "I have only made this trip in the back of a cart, but I remember it well enough," she says, as Angel pulls her up into the saddle.

Vani, the boy priest, is waiting the courtyard. It is unclear what he has been doing with his time while the rest of the group has been risking their lives in the house (probably pulling the wings off butterflies, if his demeanor is any indication). "Well, what have you found? Slave girl? Looks like she might provide hours of fun, if properly motivated." He doesn't actually lick his lips, but there's a sense that that might be coming any moment.

Cursing herself inwardly for not moving the bodies Angel is momentarily distracted, recovering her composure rapidly she Mounts Praesul with ease, the big axe resting on her back as she lifts the girl in front of her both arms holding her close in protection. "Then the journey should be easy enough, this is Praesul, trust him to keep you safe."

Her face falls dark as the 'boy' approaches, her hand wraps tighly around the hilt of her Fathers blade as she stares down darkly at him in contempt.

"This is Dida, she is under my protection, if anyone lays a hand on her they will lose it, that is my vow." She does not release her hand from her hilt instead she waits for the others to form up around her. "Show me the way, and we will get you to safety." she tells the girl in a quiet patient voice, one barely resembling the voice of anger she had just heard. "Ignore him, I won't let him near you." A glance falls on Liri with hopeful eyes, willing her closer.

Ari forms up with the group, keeping conspicuousky between the boy and Dida.

Galanis also joins the group on his horse and smiles to himself as he hears Angel's passion threatening the priest.

Liri rides close to Angel and Dida. "We have learned to defend ourselves against scum like that" she says. "And we help those women who were not taught."
