"I am truly honoured." Mira offers a small cutsey, he felt like a Lord, and should be treated how a Lord Deserved. "I sung from my Heart, as I always have. Your Land, and many of it's people have welcomed me and embraced me.." she explains as she stands a respectful distance.

"I am unsure if your Guards were able to relay what happened this afternoon? My friends and I. We have some knowledge of what happened, I did attempt to pass that on.. because I felt you should know.. this thing, I might reside somewhere close. We might be able to stop it, but to do so, it would require access to places it might be hiding." She explains carefully, unsure if he had the whole story.

The Meistersinger nods, Yes it would seem Skald has welcomed you with open arms. I only just now learned of your connection to our recent woes. A Sergeant of the guard informed me as I returned inside. He pauses, perhaps considering his words carefully. The information is useful, and I thank you and your friends for it. But if everything you suspect is true... it presents quite a danger to the people of this city, whom it is my responsibility to protect. His violet eyes pierce into hers, the presence of his office and years like a weight to them. So am I to understand you and your friends seek to confront this threat directly and destroy it?

"One of our party is familiar with the threat, she has greater knowledge than me." She sighs. "I am but a simple performer. My skills lie in other areas." She explains modestly. "We need to find where it resides, I am told. Simply defeating it is a start, but to destroy it.. we must find it's lair. Apparently it likes old places, those out of the way. Basements, or perhaps even crypts." Mira sighs again.

"I am starting to consider this land as home, I would like nothing to happen to my home."

I see... so merely defeating it in combat will not be enough. I can have some guards search for places like that during the daylight hours. I fear they will be no match for such a creature during the long night. he says grimly.

The man's expression softens a little, You do seem well suited to our little corner of the world. I hope that things continue to go well for you. I look forward to meeting you again, my dear. Under better circumstances.

"That is most generous, truly. They should not approach it, doing so as you say they would be no match. I hope we will be." She adds with a slight shudder, this thing scared her beyond anything else.

"Would it be possible to have something signed, that allows us access to places, so the good men of the watch are not.. overly put out?" Was that pushing it? She had to know. Once she receives an answer she bows and departs joining the others.

The Meistersinger strokes his beard slowly in thought. There are some who might oppose even written word of your charge. He steps closer, lowering the volume and tenor of his voice. There is... long standing mistrust of newcomers, in a general sense. And while you yourself may have enjoyed a higher degree of freedom than most... His eyes slide only briefly to her tassled shawl, Those whom you surround yourself with do not pass without... ripples.

His voice returns to normal and a small but genuine smile emerges. I think perhaps a pair of guardsmen to escort your party would smooth over any misunderstandings, and open hesitant doors more easily. A gentle hand on her shoulder implying it is no mere suggestion. I shall have them meet your group in the morning. "The Broken Wheel", wasn't it? He adds

"Of that I am more than aware. Please trust me when I say I am trying to smooth those ripples as much as I can. Some make more than others." Pondering one in particular she listens intently.

"That is far more than I would ask, the Broken Wheel is as good of a home as anywhere at the moment. They welcomed me. I look forward to welcoming them." Smiling she squeezes his hand and thanks him silently.

He nods, smiling wanly as there was little else to say. An honour to make your acquaintance tonight, my good lady. The Meistersinger says with a measured bow. I regret I have yet other matters to attend tonight. He explains

Calming Sabrina had been a slow and delicate process, just when Mira had thought she had stopped shaking the Woman had broken down into little sobs.

"What if it comes back? What if it kills us too?" She asked slipping to the floor.

"It won't, it's gone. Look just go to my room, take this sword.." Mira repeats again, pressing her second blade into the girl's hand. "I have to see what's going on "

"Your leaving me? After this?" She repeats again, Mira had no idea how many times she had said that same line.

"No, honestly, I'll see what's going on, then I'll come straight back, I promise." She pats the girls hand before squeezing it tightly. "Stay in the room, lock the door, I'll give a password when I return."

"Password..?" Sabrina sobs. "Gypsy magic." She manages to say with a ever so slight smile. Remembering something.

"Of course, the quicker you get safe I can find out what's going on." Mira soothes her, stroking the girls face with her fingers. "I won't abandon you. Cross my heart."

"Very well. I'm trusting you." Sabrina slumps her shoulders, before standing and wrapping her hand around the sword hilt, "I will take this.. if I die..." She states solemnly, "I will haunt you.. forever."

"Thank you." wrapping her hand around Sabrina's neck she presses her forehead against the girls before openly kissing her on the lips. "I will not fail you. Fair maiden." Bowing as she steps back she turns and looks for Sir Karl who stood protectively over the inn.

Outside her room she hears a cry from inside... Who?!? Who is it?!

*Sweetie its me." Mira knocks twice, almost collapsing. "I'm here with my Gypsy magic " She waits for the Girl to open the door.

"Mira?" She asks quietly, grasping the sword tightly to her chest, "Just.. just wait a moment " a sound of scraping fills the room before the door opens slowly. She peeks out gingerly, leading with the sword.

"Yes it's me " Mira states simply cosses the threshold. Sabrina closes it and runs to the bed, her eyes are bloodshot, tears stain her clothing. The moment it's closed Mira sinks to the floor..

Unable to hold back the tears her body wracks painfully with the Sobs she can no longer control.

"Is...is it gone?" The girl asks after what seemed like forever.

Mira shakes her head, her body barely functioning as she lay silent.

"Then..? No . No I won't ask now, I forget that you are from a different place. You have seen things." She raises her own head, gingerly approaching the striken woman. Blanket in one hand and sword in the other she collapses next to her, "You came back. You promised and you did." Throwing the blanket around the pair of them they fall silent.

Ooc: Mira is about done holding it all together, she's reached her limit and she is a lot like the Bartender, numb.

"We hurt it, badly. It did something to Karl, poor man. They went to try and see if the Priests could fix him." Mira speaks after what seems an age, "We have to find it tomorrow. We will. Jerry knows how to deal with it."

"What.. what is it?" Sabrina asks softly, her hand falling over Mira's.

"It's called a Vampire. Something that was alive and now it's dead." Mira explains softly, "I don't think they exist in my world."

"It's awful. Horrible. I thought.." she aobs. "I thought I was going to die. It was right there. It looked at me, it.. taunted me." She collapses into Mira's arms, sobbing.

"Sshhh. I know, I do.. when I heard.." she pauses, "I came back, I thought it had got you. If.." she places her hands over the Girls. "If I lost you. I don't know if I could go on." She flushes red, her eyes puffy and swollen.. "All I ever wanted was to sing, to make people happy. I'm.. I'm not cut out for this hunting monsters. But here I am."

"I saw it in your eyes, the way you reacted, I saw . Affection, worry, fear. That scared me almost as much as that evil evil thing did." She manages go speak between sobs. "Sometimes you overwhelm me. But I did like the way you looked at me. Mira I am so confused." She speaks again falling into silence.

Act 3 Scene 2: Coffins and Crowns

Mira jerks awake with an involuntary scream causing the sleeping Sabrina to scramble and claw wild-eyed from her own slumber. The waitress clutches at her, nails scraping skin in shock and terror! What?!?! Gods, is it BACK?!?! she squeals, desperately, trying to watch every direction at once. Slowly the rosy fingertips of dawn peeking around the shutters bring her mind to the present moment, awake in her room at the Broken wheel. Glancing around she finds Elsa’s things neatly folded to one side, but the Halfling is nowhere in sight.

Posted here as its a long one and I don't want to clutter the main thread.

"Ssshhh." MIra hushes gently, placing her lips to the girls to calm her down, "Its gone, it only comes out at night." (or so she had been told, while she trusted Jerry...). She rises from the bed, paying no heed to her state of dress, she notes Elsa had gone with a hint of sadness..

"Are.. are you sure?" The Girl asks nervously, her eyes still darting from left to right like the thing would appear in front of them.

"Trust me, please?" She asks looking at her ruined outfit from last night, she could remove the blood, but she would know it was there, "Dammit, I liked that shirt. she spies Sabrina's in the same state. Shopping first then, always shopping.. She sighs raising her arms above her head and rising on tiptoes to wake her body.

"It is a pretty one, mine.. is.." She doesn't speak those words, her attention was focused on the Redhead now, marveling the way her hair fell down her back in waves..

"We'll get you a new one today, just wait till you meet Marie, she is going to LOVE making you some clothes! And my dress! You'll get to see my dress." Her words were designed to distract, to focus the Girls mind.

"I'm sure it will look just as beautiful on you as off you." Realising what she had said she blushes and hides her face into the pillow.

"I am going to use some magic on you, it will help... the spell creates a force around you that protects for a while at least." She explains, deciding not to comment as she moves back to the bed. Sitting with her spellbook in her bare lap she finds the page she was looking for and pats the bed beside her.

"Magic? Will.. it hurt? Is this Gypsy magic or.. Real.." She asks, pulling the sheet around her as she rises up, bare legs hanging off the end of the bed.

"I guess you can call this real magic, its not a trick like the sounds and the lights, this is the things they didn't want me to learn, they would hate that I am going to teach. And teach it I will." She asserts patting the bare leg.

"Real magic.." She sighs wistfully, the very idea filling her with awe.

"So, magic, where I come from its controlled. Only people like say Jerry or Merrick would be able to use it, oh they allow people to dabble, but once you can do things like I can now, they hunt you down. Call you renegade, other reason I'm NOT going back." She explains calmly still a hint of anger in her voice. "When I do the things I do in my shows I pluck a little of the energy that surrounds us all, the tiniest piece so no one notices, I can show you that when we travel. But real magic, that needs to be studied, practiced. Here, can you see the music, the notes?" Pointing to the page the song is clearly written...

Mira sings softly, her trained voice rising with the music.

"I think so.. Ohhh." She gasps in realization, "The song gives you the ability to pull more, and with the instrument its easier? I bet you could do it with your voice alone, I could never..." She drops her head.

"Sssh, yes you can, you can sing, you can play, so you can." She places a finger under her chin, leaning in and kissing her lips softly. "Trust me."

"I do, I do. Just."

"I understand, and yes you are right, its easier as the song almost.. I think it somehow attracts the energy.. Like it pushed back his music. Damn." She shakes her head in realization. "Don't worry thats not important at the moment. I have to repeat the words, until they are in my mind, the melody, the pattern, the music, thats why I always play roughly the same songs in the mornings."

"Oh, I did wonder, so thats how you keep them? Your mind stores them somehow? And you are going to waste-" Sabrina begins and Mira's fingers cover the Girls lips.

"Casting it on you will NEVER be a waste, you are one of the best things that has EVER happened to me. This spell will keep you alive, that.. that's worth every damn spell I have. You know, Haldrake told me to look after you? He said you were a 'Good Kid.'" She explains softly.

"Really? I.. Sort of hoped, but it felt you know, big headed of me to think that. I like you too. A lot." Her eyebrows narrow "Kid? I'm no kid! how dare he?" She snorts in indignation.

"I think he was trying to be nice, and the thought was there, but we are getting sidetracked. Pass me the lute?" Placing the book in the Girls lap she adds. "We'll have to get you a spellbook too. I'll ask Serath, Merricks Cousin to make you one. When you do, its precious, and its worth well. quite a lot."

"Sure." Passing over the lute the blanket slips, she pays this no heed as Mira repeats the song over and over.. repeating this with her other spells. (The same as last time).

"Ready?" She finally asks, "Its like wearing a magic cloak that protects you, you still FEEL it, but it makes it harder for people to hurt you."

"I am, should I be you know..? Dressed." Mira shakes her head. "Ok."

"Watch me when I cast it, use your eyes and your feelings, you should be able to see it form around you." She explains as she takes a deep breath.

Mira sings again, little particles begin to form around her, from the bed, the air, dragged from outside the window, the all surround Mira's naked form before floating softly to encase Sabrina.

"Ohh that tickles." She giggles as she watches the Redhead in awe. "I think I saw it, you were actually glowing like a Goddess from one of the old stories." Sabrina looks on in awe as the spell ends. (Mira cast Armor on her). "So it worked?"

"Me a Goddess? That would make Elsa giggle. A goddess of being a hussy perhaps! And yes you are protected. Its a backup, that's all. Pretend its not even there. Right.. clothes. I have enough spare shirts, you can wear one of mine until we buy some more." Kissing the top of her head Mira rises and places the lute on the bed. Splashing herself with the cold water in the basin she motions for Sabrina to join her.

"I couldn't.." Seeing Mira's look she agrees to both the clothes and the quick wash.

"Here." Applying a little perfume to the girls neck and chest she moves to her clothes which are choas compared to Elsa's neatly stacked piles, handing the girl some clean clothes they are soon dressed. "We need to get you a sword, and a dagger. Karl would be best to train you, rather than me."

"Karl? He's like one of those Knights from the Stories isn't he?" Sabrina asks as she dresses.

"He is a Knight of the Sword, where I come from they are.. yes they are the Knights from the Stories, some of them lost their way, but he hasn't I trust him. Everyone that.. " she was going to say follows. "Is with me, I trust, just like I trust you."

"Then I trust him too.. Even Jerry? She reminds me of one of those wives that tries to convince you to come home and share with her Husband." She giggles. "And no I NEVER did. I was a good Girl until I met you. People.. say.."

"Jerry is sweet, kind, and trust worthy. And I know what they are saying, I am a bad influence, I'm corrupting you, its unnatural. Love isn't unnatural, its just different. People don't like different, different makes waves and ripples, the Meistersinger told me that."

"You met the Meistersinger?" She gasps, "Really?"

"At Laisa's memorial, he said something like My music was truly inspired tonight I think he likes me." She giggles. "Right, breakfast, new clothes and then I need to find that Monster and end it for once and for all. Could.. could you do something for me?" She asks softly.

"Wow that's really amazing. And do something? I'm NOT looking-"

"I know, this place, this is sort of my home, with the Cook ummm. Would you help them?" Mira asks, she didn't want to stop her going to the Inn, but this place needed some help.

"Me? Help.. I mean I can cook, all the Girls were taught, of course Coraline thought it was beneath her. Would this help you?" Mira nods to her question. "Then I will try."

"Good, come." And with a large kiss she leads the Girl by the hand from the Room.
