So today is an auspicious one. Yesterday, War of the Lance managed to obtain the second biggest post count of any active game in Planet (this game being the first). But today, with this post, Lost Souls manages to surpass Unlikely Heroes, my first game here at Planet and the one that (until today) had the biggest post count of Planet's history (7818 posts).

I've managed to somehow break my own record. Now it's a matter of seeing just how far this game goes. I don't know how far it will go (as it stands now, I have no idea what I'd do for a third arc) or how it will end, but it's pretty impressive we've made it this far--and even with most of the original PCs, too.

So congrats to everyone; this wouldn't have been possible without you all. Thanks for sticking with things for so long and making my games so popular.

Actually I would suggest it's you, as GM, that makes them so popular. IMO you're exceptional.

Would Naras know Brock? (and anything about him or what he does?)

Janjadel never mentioned him by name and he left Narin months ago, long before Naras arrived. So I'd say no.

Thx - TBH I hadn't clocked that he wasn't an NPC... (I generally only read the bits of threads I'm involved in - unless it's ancient history, in which case as a skim-read it's a good story).

How do you do the thing on here where you capture (in a box) what has previously happened or what someone else has said?

Using the quote tag, as seen below (I've disabled the code for this post so you can see what it looks like.)

When making a post, if you scroll down to the previous posts, there's a quote button, too. Clicking it automatically quotes that post.

Now's as good a time as any to go through your character's inventories and get rid of what you don't need and stock up on what you do need.

When you're ready to elapse time to the dinner on the Bullring, have your character head to the ship. Until then, feel free to do what you like.

In the character stats, Ouragana's clothes show up twice, once in the description of her body and once again in her backpack, Does that mean she has two sets of clothing?

Yes, you gave her spares when you first created her.

Anyway, it looks like everyone is just shopping or wandering aimlessly, which are things that don't need to be roleplayed out. So I'm going to go ahead and jump forward to the dinner. BishGada, let me know if Baeros buys that axe, and spyguy, let me know if Gallath buys the new cloak and if he hands over the remains of the old cloak (and whether he does anything with it first before handing it over).

If there was any further shopping to do, you can let me know. But it's super boring to roleplay out and I'd rather not spend a whole chapter on it.

Chris, you can keep doing what you're doing but if you run out of stuff to do, let me know. We can skip ahead to tomorrow's sermon. It'll be Rockday, so this will be the first religious service Naras has held since her arrival (assuming you want to roleplay that out). We can assume Jocelyn and Ouragana arrive at the temple after the sermon for the removal of the curse.

When the dinner scene is over, we'll skip forward to the morning, after Naras' sermon, when Jocelyn and Ouragana return to the temple. The rest of you can accompany them or do something else. Up to you. Chris, if you have some idea as to how to integrate Naras into the party, this would be the time for it, as they are leaving Narin the morning after.

Once that is all done, we'll skip forward to their arrival in Mond and finish out the chapter there. I have lots planned for it.

Sound good to everyone?

Oh, and it seems xelphyn hasn't logged in for nearly a month now. Once he vanished for over two years, so...I have no idea if he's coming back or not anytime soon. We'll assume he's still around, just not actively participating. He'll skip dinner and stay on the ship for now.

Fine for me...Fingers crossed some bridges were mended..
Need to know Otaya's views on supporting Deanna (and why; is her business failing?; Does Otaya have any particular (e.g. love) interest?)

I wrote about Ouragna's wandering to give her a chance to notice anything that might be needed to move the game on.

Skipping ahead to the dinner is fine with me.

Hi Jaded: Yes, want to fix stuff with Otaya, see what she has in mind, finance-wise for Deanna. Trying to get to the bottom of whether Deanna just needs a massive injection of cash or just a means to support herself (in line with previous cash flow from Agnas) and also get her (Otaya) to acknowledge that there is no "we are obligated to.." about it and that what we're trying to resolve is discretionary. Thrust for me is that Gonto is LN, not some variant of G. So as long as we are demonstrably lawful, we can allow some good to mitigate past (or future) 'not so good' actions Hope that makes sense. I'm guessing this will be 3-4 cycles of posts. The want to fix things with Leena, probably 2-3 cycles of posts. [Happy to do them in parallel posts if you wish, just to speed up player-GM iterations.] Will need to swap out a spell for Combine and get both acolytes to do the same. Then do the sermon. Never done a sermon before. Any advice welcome. :)

I actually thought Otaya's motivations and reasoning was already made pretty clear. Is that not the case?

As for the sermon, I suppose step one would be to decide which topic you want to preach about to be.

Hi Jaded. Otaya's saying give her the money that Deanna is owed.
Want:
a) for Otaya to acknowledge that Deanna isn't actually owed anything (reference Last Will & Testament & Speak with Dead). Those are the items in Law, as Naras see it, and would be as per Gonto's (LN) teachings.
b) Then move on to how best to resolve appropriate (discretionary) payments. Thinking of monthly cash flow in line with whatever Agnas was giving Deanna. {As a player I don't actually care, we can write off the money and it can happen off-stage, i.e. so the GM isn't tied up with trivial monthly calculations etc etc. {Key point is the letter of the law being recognized & satisfied.}
c) Alternative thought is to have part of the money invested in the Armour-shop so if and when that makes an income, some (pro rata amount) can go to support Deanna. If Deanna is just paid out of capital, eventually the capital will run out.

Would Naras know the level of tax increase? And what it applies to? i.e. does it affect the whole of the town's population? Does it affect the temple directly?
Additionally, approx how many are there in town that struggle to get food? Will the tax increase affect these people? Or push more (1%?) of the population into the starvation zone?
Finally, was it 300 Temple-goers that are behind in their tithes? Has this decreased at all over the last few days?
