WotL OOC Thread

This 2E Dragonlance game is set in the city of Haven, during the War of the Lance. Haven is a city undergoing great upheaval. First massive numbers of refugees pour in, then the city is conquered by a draconic army. Can our heroes survive under this dark occupation?

If I'm not mistaken, Tulbas suggested to recruit from the cultists, as it is a large resource of people, and it was when he said they should dig traps for the giant and not go after him.
Many things Tulbas planned didn't work as he visualized them, but that's life.

Indeed Tulbas seems a bit too trusty :)
But I do try to roleplay him correctly. He is not very friendly, and I do try to be suspicious but probably not enough.
In his background he is described as quiet and not forthcoming. Distrusting humans since his family was attacked.

Tulbas never trusted Magnus until the fights at the cave. He was influenced by Magnus appreciation and only then started to believe he actually care about the group success. A mistake he won't repeat.

In hindsight, Gregeddin and Haahqae could have been more selective in alignment types while recruiting To avoid this kind of situation. Luckily ththe dice were on our side.

In case anyone thought Gregeddin was just being weird, he's attempting to cast hypnotism on Raena :)

I'm glad you clarified that.

I mean, that was eventually the conclusion I came to, but at first I wasn't sure what he was doing.

I tried to do it in character, and since he hadn't revealed anything to the others yet, I thought he might disguise it with a little flare.
But I just re-read the post and it sounded a little crazy, which is kind of is guess.

Oh boy the others...

Can I ask what Tulbas' plan is here? Knowing that would really help me figure out how things will go.

BishGada wrote:(OOC: Can Tulbas use his healing profession extended by Cantrip to bandage Raetmal in a way that will hold even when Raetmal will be shaken when Tulbas try to take him? Also can such Cantrips make Tulbas stronger or Raetmal lighter to help Tulbas carry him? Another thing, is it reasonable to assume Raetmal and Tulbas have some cart in the shop that can be used to move Raetmal without harming him?)
I have a full list of what cantrips can do here, for future reference.

Raetmal has already had the healing proficiency used on him by Marvin. It can only be used once on any injury, so it cannot be used again on him, even by someone else. Cantrips cannot heal at all, that is the domain of divine magic, not sorcery.

Cantrips cannot affect ability scores. That would make them massively overpowered. Even if it could make Tulbas stronger, it would be such a minor improvement to have no bearing on the situation. Same deal with somehow making Raetmal lighter. Even if it could work, it would reduce his weight by such a small margin that it wouldn't make any real difference.

As for a cart in the shop, I'm not sure why there would be a cart in a mageware shop. If there is, it now belongs to Magnus and I'm not sure he'll be kind enough to loan it out.

To everyone else, we'll move on once this scene with Tulbas is over. After that, I'm going to skip ahead to the morning and move Arulia into the main thread. She'll be on her way to Kendra's, while Haahqae and Gregeddin will be just returning to the city. We'll pick up there. Sorry about the delays, hopefully it won't take too long.

Well that last action you did might hurry things up a bit.

The ironic thing, of course, is I set up this whole scenario with Magnus so Tulbas would not die. :-|

"that fop"?! I suppose Gregeddin is wearing a rather nice cloak :) Good to see he made an impression on Magnus at least, shame his charisma didn't make it a positive one.

I should have stolen Magnus's spell book when he was nearby. What's my pickpockets at? 25%? Not bad!

Heh. I actually had trouble coming up with a descriptor for him. I couldn't have him say, "that human" because that would sound weird coming from a human. "That bard" sounded too...metagamey. Especially since Magnus has not witnessed Gregeddin putting on any musical performances.

Actually, Gregeddin did make a good impression on Magnus...but he's kind of dick, so...

As for stealing his spellbook...haha, well, he owns a mageware shop now, so I don't think that would be more than an inconvenience to him. :P
