Kim looks up after getting sorted and sees Brax trembling. "Brax? Is there anything I can do for you?" Kim's voice sounds genuinely concerned.

"I need a moment, that is all." Almost instantly she returns to her usual facial expression. "What have you found?" She asks, shifting her gaze to Amon and the others.

Kim's eyebrows go up for a fleeting moment, then the expression becomes impassive again, the hand that was going to be outstretched retreats.

"Looks like another jewel in a fireplace," Amon says. He steps closer to the fireplace in order to investigate if this is the case or not.

The floor boards creak in front of Amon, but don't fail under his weight. Reaching into the piles of rubbish there appears to be a small silver ring lying on the floor, glittering in the afternoons light.

Numerous small spiders move out of his way, a few scuttle up the fireplace.

Brax steps over to towards Kim, her face remaining the same "Thank you, but I am fine.."

"It's just a ring," Amon says. "Looks to be silver. Lots of spiders in there, though," he adds. "Hardly the great 'treasure' we were all expecting."

Searos eyes the spiders, his lip curling in disgust at the vermin. "Rats I can handle but spiders? Bluh. Horrible beasts. Too many eyes and legs and... spiders." Searos seems to consider his last comment and rolls his eyes at the absurdity of a statement like spiders have too many spiders. Even he realizes how crazy that sounds.

Gunter shakes his head at Amon and the ring.

"Figures. If there is something of value to be found up here we should probably find it fast...I have a bad feeling about this floor..."

"I agree," Echo said with a nod towards Gunter. She found him not quite as annoying as the rest of the group, so that was a step up for him. "I would rather not end up like Kim almost did earlier."

"It's okay" Kim says dismissively, moving carefully past the group at the first door and proceeding to open the second. Does the floor there look safe?

Kim finds another dirty, decaying bedroom without furniture. From the doorway the floor in here does not look particularly safe; some floorboards are missing while others appear to have suffered partial collapse.

From her position she can see south, the sea sparkling lightly off into the distance, once upon a time the room probably had one of the best views in the area.

As Gunter looks around, he sees no signs of passage by anyone in the last few years, apart from the Rats and the rather large spiders that are now taking notice of Amon, he wonders what could have killed the rats...
(Survival Check anyone?)

"only a ring?" Vee draws a face. Then she recognizes the dead rats.

"Oh no..." She falls on her knees and stroke the fur of one rat "Who could kill so sweet and holy animals? who could?"

Gunter, not really caring about the rats themselves but seeing the little one's sorrow kneels down next to her.

"Such is the cycle of life...the question though is an alarming one. My senses tell me that no one has been through here for a very long time. Normally a predator would eat its prey, not just kill and move on. There's something else at work here that we need to be careful of."

As Vee moves to stroke the Rats (OCC: Ewww by the way, its dead) one of the spiders suddenly scuttles across the room and bites at her leg, she manages to bat it away with ease. Another spider advances on Amon, managing to climb his leg, its bite ripping into his exposed flesh.

Another lunges at Gunter as he moves towards Vee, its little bite nipping him in the leg, just above his boot.

Spider 1, attacks Vee: 1d20=8 Miss
Spider 2, attacks Amon: 1d20=16 Hit, 1 dmg (Save vs Poison with +2 Bonus please?)
Spider 3, attacks Gunther: 1d20=15 1 dmg
(Save vs Poison with +2 Bonus please?)

(I did mention they were there... )

(OOC: You said they were small spiders. I took that to mean the regular, run of the mill kind. Hairy spiders, the smallest of the 'monstrous spiders' are six inches in diameter, as big as my hand.)

Amon makes a saving throw vs poison (1d20+3): 18, pass.
