So that ends that chapter and that adventure. I'll put up the XP later.
At this point, what I want to discuss with you all, is the future of this game. I noticed for awhile there, activity dropped off considerably--to the point where I had to outright ask if you all had lost interest or not. I'm not exactly sure what triggered that, or why.
So I'm very interested in hearing from you all what works for you and what isn't working for you, in this game. That way, I can better calibrate it and make it fun. If you're not having fun, then there is obviously something wrong here.
I'll be picking up Horizon from the airport in about...seven hours. So she can participate in this discussion, as well, pretty soon.
Content-wise, I have a little plotline for the trip to Silvanesti in mind, as you all likely guessed from the minotaur's job offer. As for Silvanesti itself? Nothing concrete, but I imagine dealing with the nightmare will have something to do with it.
I won't be starting up the new chapter in a few days, as I have a lot to do. Not just the XP for this chapter, but I have some prep work, as well since I'm not using a module.

The activity drifted off because well we all lost direction for a while, no one was sure quite what we were doing, now we are more settled I think we will be ok.
I like the Minotuars offer idea, it works really well.

So what triggered everyone getting lost, and what could be (potentially) done to prevent something like that happening again?

Honestly, while I appreciate the sandbox nature, and the way it can freeform.. But some control is needed, even for me, (yes even for queen chaos).
And it appeared like every solution we suggested, got shut down, I know you werent doing it on purpose, but... It was rather disheartening.

I agree with Jen, for a while it seemed as if every thing we wanted just didn't work. Like the characters, the players got disheartened and somewhat depressed. Our creativity died down, we felt lost. For a while, I was asking myself if there was a specific action that would get us forward and we were just too stupid to find out what it was (some older computer games were like that).
Also, real life was somewhat busy at that time. In less busy times, I'm often thinking of the games in the back of my mind during the day, and ideas just come floating to me, but when the schedule gets hectic, this of course doesn't happen.

So you're all saying there are no changes you'd like to see made in this game then?

Talking to Jerrard (who gets back at the weekend) he feels that generally as a group we were lacking in focus, perhaps it was because we had no clear goal, well we did have a goal in mind, but every time we tried to do something.. Up popped another problem. It felt rather restrictive and awkward.
It also could have been due to where we were, the alien nature of the place, and the way it was portrayed (I have never been to anywhere like that, so I have no idea how realistic was).
And... Well our stupid mistake didn't make things better.

Well, it's the prerogative of the players to decide what their goal should be, and how much focus should go into it.

For most of the time this game was running, you were doing modules, so the goal was clear. Remember how we were so set on saving Syriana that we left aside all the treasure?
Then came the transition to the more freeform game, and it took us time to adjust to the fact that there was no set goal to the game any more.

So you guys preferred when I ran modules?
