Liri's blade strikes the zombie, but the blow is a glancing one - not enough to kill it, but enough to drive it further off balance. The zombie, already off balance and tripping over the fallen corpse falls to the ground, but continues to grab at Liri from there.

Angel drives her sword into the head of the zombie that bit her leg. Given the awkward angle, the blow lacks power and fails to fell the creature, although Angel can now see a wide crack in its exposed skull. Undeterred, the zombie maintains its grip on Angel's leg and bites again, tearing into the same wound while being dragged about by Praesul's movements.
The circle continues to close tightly around Egg and Galanis. Egg, though he has an opening to retreat, stands fast and swings, lopping the arm off a zombie as it reaches towards Galanis. The others continue to grab at the two fighters, and one takes hold of Galanis' sword arm, its claw-like fingers digging into his flesh and drawing blood [2 hp damage]. Another bites Egg, breaking its teeth on his mail sleeve.

"Why didn't you retreat?!" Galanis shouts frustrated. "Let's go NOW!" Listening to his own advice he takes few quick steps backwards using his sword to parry attacks while pulling gently Egg by his side. When they have distance enough to avoid being attacked from the back, he turns and run about 30 yards then turns back and continue shooting arrows at the zombies.

(OOC: Is it possible to shoot at the same round?)

Liri tires to get in the zombies back before striking again. But that dancing around made her aim poor, and she misses the creature entirely. strike to head(-4) of a prone enemy(+4): [1d20] = 3

Egg doesn't say a word - he just stands at Galanis' side as the two retreat to a better position. The zombies grab at both fighters as they push their way out of the press, and one manages to get a hand inside Egg's armored sleeve, drawing blood. Egg swings his sword, cutting halfway through the zombie's arm above the elbow and jerks free.

The zombie at Liri's feet remains on the ground, and crawls forward, trying to grab at her legs, but she is easily able to avoid it.

Angel wheels Praesul away from the two zombies near her and drives him forward. The third zombie, however, maintains its grip on her saddle and leg and bites again, but the wild movement causes it to bite into her boot instead of her leg.

Galanis moves far enough for the zombies to catch up turns and shoot arrows at the nearest zombie.

Although her sword misses its mark, Angel is able to dislodge the zombie clinging to her leg, but not before it takes another bite out of her leg [3 hp damage].

The zombie at Liri's feet continues to crawl forward, too slow to reach her.

The group of zombies near Galanis and Egg continue their slow advance. Egg steps up and carefully puts one of them down by chopping at its knee with his falchion.

Galanis puts a little bit more distance between himself and the zombies calling for Egg to follow suit. Then he shoots the nearest once again.

Liri strikes at the zombie's head but misses again. strike to head(-4) of a prone enemy(+4): [1d20] = 8

[OOC:] What level is Liri now? My original character sheet lists 3, but I think she has levelled up in the course of the game.If she's level 5 now, her THAC0 would be 1 better (not that it matters this round). [/OOC]

[OOC] Bish - Galanis' first attack missed. These zombies are of the Pittsburgh/Night of the Living Dead/TWD sort. Attacks to the body are not generally effective. The head requires a called shot at -4 to hit, giving them an effective AC of 4. He missed by 1.
His second attack did 7 hp of damage, and was a critical hit, giving him the opportunity to do additional damage. The bonus roll, however, came up too low, so no additional damage was done.
If it's any consolation, the zombie in question is just about done for. [/OOC]

Angel wheels her horse around and charges, striking the nearest zombie in passing and cleaving its head open with her gladius. She continues her charge, and Praesul sideswipes another zombie as he goes by, sending it sprawling on the ground.

Liri continues to hack at the zombie at her feet, but is unable to connect with anything vital, although her blade does cut deeply into its arm.

Egg casually backhands one badly-mauled zombie with his falchion, dropping it.

Galanis's first shot hits one of the zombies in the press, taking it down, but his second shot goes astray, striking Egg's helmet and glancing off. Egg is momentarily staggered by the blow from behind, and nearly loses his footing.
