Indeed, Graham, the man with big sooty hands, the blacksmith, is indeed the father of that family.
I can't remember if I gave a family name to you, hence the 'Smith Family'
But we are both talking about the same people.

No it's fine, both people and characters can make mistakes and then realise how to correct them. Also the names are confusingly similar
