"What the hell? Who does that?! Dahn demands, after getting over the initial pain and shock, but upon seeing Val and Thaddeus unconscious he immediately snaps into full focus.
" Okay, I need to know what scares the hell out of hell hounds." He says, getting ready to cast phantasmal force.

As soon as she is able to, Ouragana casts a web across the entrance.
Seeing Thaddeus on the ground unconscious, she cries out. When Jocelyn tells her to stay with Thaddeus, she casts her a dark look that says "What do you think I would do?"
Crying, she tries to make her loved one as comfortable as she can before she digs out her skin ointment to apply it to her own burns.
There's more to me than meets the eye...

Gallath is the first to recover his senses after the blast. He crawls over to Thaddeus. The young elf has no bandages, so he is forced to tear up the spare wool shirt in his pack to make some. He then does his best to stabilize Thaddeus.

Two of the hellhounds move up to the entrance, growling menacingly. But surprisingly, they do not yet make a hostile move. But the party can see them clearly now. They resemble large dogs, but their eyes glow bright red and they reek of smoke and sulfur.

Jocelyn crawls over to Val and casts a healing spell, again shocking the half-orc back to consciousness. Val coughs and sputters, her body aching all over. Ouragana, meanwhile, immediately fires a web spell at the mansion entrance. It engulfs the front door, effectively stopping anyone from getting in or out.

However, this seems to be a moot gesture. Not only do the hellhounds easily burn the webbing down with their fire breath, but strange figures start to appear around the party, coming out of thin air. They resemble ogres, but not like any ogres the party has ever seen--and that includes Baeros. They have light blue or green skin and have ivory horns on their heads. Their hair is blue or green, as well. They are quite tall and muscular looking and wield strange, exotic weaponry.

Before long, the party is surrounded. There are four hellhounds at the entrance, waiting for them. Behind them are two female ogres, and there is one male ogre to each side. The ogres are armed with some kind of polearms or whips and scimitars.

"Kōfuku," says the male on the left.

"Anata no buki o oroshimasu," adds the one on the right, pointing to the ground.

Nobody in the party has heard any language even similar to what they are speaking. It's certainly not Ogre, and it's not Eonian, either.

Gallath crawls to Thaddeus and binds his wounds. Thaddeus is now stable at 0 HP. (The spare wool shirt in his inventory is destroyed.)
Hellhound 02 moves toward the entrance.
Hellhound 04 moves toward the entrance.
Blue Woman 01 appears behind the party.
Jocelyn crawls to Val and casts Cure Light Wounds upon her. Val is restored automatically to 1 HP.
Hellhound 01 moves toward the entrance.
Blue Man 02 appears to the right of the party.
Ouragana casts Web at the entrance of the mansion, blocking it.
Blue Man 01 appears to the left of the party.
Hellhound 03 moves to the web and breathes fire on it. The webbing is destroyed.
Blue Woman 02 appears behind the party.

(OOC: Only one action per round. So Jocelyn only cast CLW on Val so far, and Ouragana has just cast Web, but not done anything for Thaddeus yet.)

As Dahn sifts through his thoughts trying to find something that could reasonably appear out of thin air, he realizes: that's exactly what these blue creatures did.

Dahn takes a non threatening stance as he investigates these newcomers.

(Ooc: okay, so, I don't have any reference material with me and I forgot: to what extent can I manipulate the image from phantasmal force, and what are it's dimensions? )

OOC: Okay, well, keeping with my actions from my previous post then.

Jocelyn is slight stunned by the appearance of these orge like people, but it doesn't stop her enough to run to Thaddeus next to pray over him (cure light wounds).

"Could they be... genasi?" Ouragana asks aloud. she feels strangely drawn to them, as if they were stirring old, forgotten memories.

she gets up, her hands limply by her sides, and says "We mean no harm" in all languages she knows.

'I knew I would regret this!' Baeros thinks the moment the hot flames engulf him. He quickly looks back at his friends, he sees Jocelyn crawls to help them and thinks to himself, 'Damnit woman you should heal yourself so you can help the others!' Then noticing the ogres a great rage starts to grow inside him, 'ARrrggg... fealthy creatures who has no respect to nature. Poisoning the ground they step on! Burning the woods! KILLING INNOCENT animals just for AMUSEMENT!' Then he looks back to the mansion try to see Hopper in the darkness.

(OOC: If Hopper would have been here it would be hotdog. But as it seems right now he still could be in the hellhounds belly.
Does these creatures really trigger Baeros hate of ogre kin? I wasn't sure so I started to role play it but without any action that would take us to a war.

Jocelyn ignores the threats of the creatures and crawls to Thaddeus, casting Cure Light Wounds upon him. He wakes up with a start, coughing. "Well...that's one way to stop trolls from entering..," he says weakly.

"Ugokimasu na!" one of the females cries out. She snaps her whip at Jocelyn, leaving a red welt on the cleric's back.

Ouragana speaks to them in every language she knows, but if they recognize any of them, they do not show it. Instead, they pull out rope from their packs. One of the males puts his wrists together, then points to the party.

"Looks like they want us to surrender and let them tie us up," Brock comments. "Okay, here's the plan. I'll rush 'em. While they're distracted, everyone else can run for it--back to the ship. With any luck, I'll take down one or two before they finish me off and start chasing you."

Baeros sees no sign of Hopper anywhere. The mansion is too dark to see more than a few feet inside.

Jocelyn casts Cure Light Wounds on Thaddeus, automatically restoring him to 1 HP.
Blue Female 02 uses her whip on Jocelyn who is prone (+4 to hit) and with her back to her (+2 to hit) (1d20+6): 9+6 = 13, hit for (1d2): 2 damage.

(OOC: Basically, Baeros suffers a -4 reaction adjustment to any ogre or ogre-like creature. This is in addition to the normal -2 penalty he gets because of his bad charisma, so a -6 altogether. Suffice to say, he'll have to try really hard not to piss them off. Whether he acts hateful toward them is entirely up to you, of course. Does Baeros' hatred overpower his own sense of self-preservation and the lives of his allies? If so, I imagine this will be over quickly.)

Jocelyn yelps in pain as she sits up straight rather suddenly from helping Thaddeus "No, Brock," she says as she looks around at their situation. She wasn't going to have Brock sacrifice himself. Taking a deep breath, she stands up slowly, places her wrists together, and holds out her hands to the creatures. "If they wanted us dead, they would have attacked us all ready," she pointed out. "And they seem to have control over the hell hounds."

"Joycelen makes a good point." Dahn says, and offers his hands out to these strangers.
"Hey, any chance we have any common grounds for communication?" He asks cycling though his own selection of languages- including thieve's cant.
(Ooc: not sure if I wanna try to go a little clepto on these guys. So tempting, yet so risky.)

Satisfied, the creatures approach and bind the wrists of Jocelyn, Ouragana and Granite. Then they look to Val, Drav, Baeros, and Gallath to see if they are going to comply or not.

"You don't need to tie us." Baeros growls, slowly sheathing his swords and lifting his open palm showing he is not going to attack. "We will go with you..." He says through clenched teeth as he moves toward Jocelyn and the rest of the party assuming protective position.

Drav puts his weapons away and waits to see whether they want him bound or not. "I see the welcome is as... well, welcoming as always."

(If bound, follow with the rest, but stay as close to Gallath as possible. If not bound, follow and look around for any signs of more creatures.)
