"Indeed." Arei comments to the Gnome. "I need to get the wind in my hair." She exits the room with a quick glance back.

It's not long before the shore of Vaneil disappears behind them. There is nothing all around them but water in every direction. The rest of the day passes uneventfully for the most part. For that matter, so does the day after that.

Noah spends most of the trip below deck, napping. Generally he would only come up to the deck to eat. Dalaim, however, freely mingles with people as much as he can, eager to talk about history, his work, and the teachings of Gonto to anyone who will listen. Of course, everyone's a captive audience on a ship, as there's really nowhere else to go.

Mist does her best to keep up with the vessel, but it's just too fast for her and eventually she falls far behind, until she's out of sight. Val knows she'll catch up sooner or later, though.

Oren, Jocelyn and Grey do what they can to pass the time and keep busy.

Areilon is thrilled to be on a ship again, but she quickly remembers the worst part of seafaring--the boredom. Sometimes days, weeks or even months will go by where absolutely nothing will happen. Cabin fever is always a threat; but luckily, this voyage doesn't last anywhere near long enough for this to be a concern. The wind maintains its direction and speed throughout, sending the ship speedily to its location. She is even allowed to take a shift for night watch on the second night after needling the captain long enough. Consequently, she is the first to see land when it appears on the horizon.

It is now 10 PM the following day. Your character may be already asleep.

Indeed, Ouragana is asleep. She had watched the crew during the days, trying to learn more about seamanship and navigation, in particular if the dwarves of Vaneil did things any differently from what she had learned in the academy. After sunset and dinner, she had retired to her bunk.

"Land ahoy!" She shouts down to the crew, jumping up in excitement, "Straight ahead, its a way out yet." She grins, this was the life she loved.

Ouragana doesn't find too many differences in how Guild ships are run from any other ships. Although the dwarves can see in the dark, so that makes it easier to sail at night than on human-only crews.

At Areilon's pronouncement, the captain steps out of his cabin. He heads up to the ship's bow and readies an expensive looking spyglass. Peering through it, he frowns and packs the spyglass away. "Aye, that's it, alright. Just as I remember it. Still haunts my nightmares." He shakes his head. "Wake the rest of the crew!" he calls out to the handful of crew still awake. "Reduce speed and prep the rowboat."

"May I join the Rowing Party? I will row." Arei asks the Captain, waiting a moment she then heads towards the lower deck, checking if anyone was still awake. If not she collects her gear and heads back up.

"Join it? Ha!" the captain laughs derisively. "You and your friends are the rowing party! I'm not about to risk one more sailor on that cursed island. If you and your friends want to go there, you'll have to row out to it. This boat isn't going anywhere near the shore, I'll tell you that much!"

"That works fine for me." Heading towards the lower deck she collects her gear nosily. "Land Ahoy, its our stop." She shouts, pack over her shoulder.

"We have to row there, either now or the morning, what do you think?" She asks the group, "This is Joyceln's job, after all."

Jocelyn was just about to go to sleep, but she heard the commotion up above. Then Areilon showed up saying that they found land. "My job?" Jocelyn asked with a raised eyebrow. "Pretty sure we all agreed to it. What can we do in the middle of the night though?" she asked curiously. "It is probably best to go there during daylight."

Oren had been quite restless finding little to occupy his mind other than the anxiousness that the waves created subconsciously in his mind. When the shout came that land had been spotted, he was happy to hear it. He quickly gathered himself (he had been napping below decks) and made his way on deck to see how close they were to thier destination. "I can see well enough now if we should be leavin for shore. I'm ready to get off this boat anyways..." then turning to the captain, "not that she's not a fine ship an all, cap'n." Then to the others, "but if the rest o' ya would rather wait til the morn, I suppose I could wait it out" he says with a noticible hint that he wouldn't rather wait.

"It is my job as good as Jocelyn's, Arei" the mage says. "Although I am keen on going, I would prefer to wait until the morning. Like Jocelyn, I don't see much in the dark. Also, I think I should memorise a spell more useful to us in case we are challenged. Oh yes, and I would like to ask the Captain what happened the last time he was here to make him so afraid to make landfall here."

Dalaim must not have been sleeping, because he immediately hops off his cot when Areilon's announcement is heard with a speed that belays his old age.

He very carefully ponders the dilemma before speaking up on it. "It would seem to me, a compelling argument could be made either way. On the one hand, our two human companions cannot see well in the dark and would be at a disadvantage. On the other hand, the tribals are supposedly all human, as well. That would mean none of them can see in the dark, either; giving us an advantage."

Val wakes at the call as well, knowing full well what that means. Going topside, she listens before weighing in. "Going in the dark would be safer, less chance of being seen, and surprised on the shore. We have plenty of time if we leave within an hour."

"I simply mean't I am following your lead." she responds to the cleric, "You all make interesting points.. But would prefer to scout now, while we are less visible, perhaps those of us who can see in the dark should go now, and one of us return in the morning?" she suggests, not moving from the door.

Ouragana shakes her head. "No, I think we should all go together. Now if the rest of you think that is best.
Will we be able to keep the rowing boat? How are we supposed to get back, anyway? I don't think the Captain will want to anchor here and wait for us."
