"I never concerned myself with how things were transported here or out of here," Echo admits to Miranda. Honestly, she is trying to find a benefit to Linton if he was apart of the smuggling operation. Right now, he really didn't have a benefit from what Echo could see. "I know that your husband enjoys his finery. He hasn't been having problems getting any of the stuff that he orders has he?"

"No, Eret is a very reliable caravan master. I recently overheard Linton telling someone he even manages to get unusual stuff for him." Miranda sounds quite proud.

"What sorts of unusual stuff?" Echo asks. This tad bit of information was starting to sound promising. Later, she was going to have to talk to Amon about possibly questioning Eret.

"Oh, I don't know..." Miranda becomes evasive. "Things Linton wants to show off, like that special wine he offers for »appepitif« or what he calls it. Once he even got me an antique pendant. Look here!" she pulls a chain from under her dress. The pendant is pretty, made of silver filigree and enamel, set with a coral at the center. It really is special, Echo has never seen anything like it or read about this style.

"I umm... I think I have done exactly what Echo was afraid of." Brax blushes, "Sorry My Lord. I am not used to such surroundings, I do not know what you know of my People? But we do not... shall we say... hold our words?" She giggles. "A Drow Woman is much like a Black Widow Spider..." She smiles again.

"Shall we meet with Echo?" She makes no move to stand straight away.

Linton gets up and pullls the chair back for Brax to help her stand up.

"It was a pleasure to meet you, and yes, let us meet with Miss Echo Soulstaff." He offers his arm as they go into the garden.

"Thank you my Lord." She curtseys and takes his arm. "Yes, lets"

With Echo and Brax saying good night to Linton and Miranda, we can close this private thread. Please return to the main thread the next morning...

Brax leaves the inn and walks quietly to the Church, her mind on other things. Why was she here? It was a simple question, one she didn't have the answer too.... Perhaps Pelor had an answer.

As she is praying and performing her service, she suddenly feels as if someone had been talking to her. "Fear not, my daughter, and follow the path as it presents itself. You will find yourself in time."

"Thank you Pelor, I will do your bidding." Kneeling deeply infront of the Altar she kisses the floor. "You are my Master as always. Aiding these people is hard, they test my patience, drive me consider dark thoughts."

"I will carry on." Standing she returns to the inn, keeping her thoughts to herself.

So Brax

As Brax performs her prayers, she feels the ritual and the familiar setting of the church helping her relax. As the sun is rising higher in the sky, suddenly a ray of light breaches a stained window, and right in front of her, an image of the sun, Pelor's sign, is projected on the stone floor, and the yellow light seems to bounce off and envelop her with its warmth.

"You have given me a sign." She wipes back another tear, this one was of joy. "Pelor my Lord." She stays bowed. "I am not worthy of your love, but I can try to be."

"They test me, test my resolve and my faith...." Wiping back the tears she could no longer feel the spiders on her back.

The light continues to shine for a moment, driving back all thoughts of darkness, then it fades as the hole in today's cloud cover closes again, and Brax feels kind of dismissed.

Ara comes in, having collected a handful of spring flowers, and quietly begins to re-arrange the flowers in front of the statues. She smiles at Brax as she sees that the half-drow has finished her prayers. "You are welcome to share tea with me this afternoon" she invites her. "But I guess now you will want to return with your group. There have been new developments here, and I am sure Geraldine will want to know what happened in Dunreese."
