Jerry would have kept one but was advised not to by someone.
If we are keeping them, happy to take one that seems to like her (Jerry).

Artanis will let the wolf pups go free while in route to Skald. He knows that wolf cubs in a town would cause problems. As much as he would like to keep and train them.

Ok.
the pups follow for a ways, but then they get distracted by something they smell or hear (artanis spots a small group of birds) and they move off into the forest chasing the avians.
