The step creaks under Gunters weight, the handrail feels rather wobbly.

Echo and Kim are at the front, with Gunter behind and the rest of the group still on the ground floor.

Searos seems legitimately creeped out by Brax leaping into his arms. He's more distant than usual and simply mutters something unintelligible to Gunter as he goes to climb the stairs with the rest of the party, all the while casting suspicious side-long glances at Brax and testing to see if his coin-purse is still there.

Gunter lifts his leg off of the steps.

"Hmm...we should probably be careful and only go up one at a time. If there really is something nasty up there and we have to make a hasty escape, these steps could be our only route down...safe or not."

Brax waits behind, totally unaware of the reaction Searos is giving her, instead she waits near Amon, eying the dog with curiosity.

"I will tell you the story of the Torture I witnessed one day, the Torture they tried to subject me too...." She frowns deeply, "As for the stairs, yes I agree, we need to keep them intact."

"I'll go first then," Amon says, climbing the stairs to the second floor, Dogmeat at his heels.

"Certainly, Gentlemen first." Brax motions to him, letting him climb the stairs.

The stairs creak loudly as Amon climbs them, the rail wobbles rather un steadily but he manages somehow to keep himself upright. Reaching the top of the stairs Amon spies a hallway going along the full length, three doors sit to his right, and two to his left, another corridor goes off just to his left.

"Looks clear," he calls back to the others. "Just some hallways." He steps aside so the others have room to come up, too, but does not yet attempt to enter any of the rooms.

(Which side does he stand, left or right? Just so I know)

Echo moves to stand next to Amon as she joins him upstairs. She is snickering lightly like she would if he had done something wrong for Daos. "She's being all dramatic to get your attention," she nearly whispers over his shoulder. "Don't you feel special," she teases.

Kim had moved to the left after going upstairs. Now it seems time to go to the intersection and look into the corridor to the right.

DEX check: 1d20=10, pass

While passing, Kim checks for concealed or secret doors. (1d6=6, won't find anything)

Gunter slowly makes his way up the stairs as well and stands next to Amon.

As Kim steps over to the left the landing beneath her creaks loudly, the sound of breaking wood filling the otherwise silent house. Reacting quickly the Mage jumps into the corridor to the right, as the floor falls down beginning her landing on the floor below with a loud crash.

Brax jumps up a few steps, the wood narrowly avoiding her and Vee, who seems totally unphased.

Those who always wanted to hear a volley of colorful swear words in a foreign tongue are richly rewarded as Kim lands roughly close to Amon and Gunter. Standing up, a switch to Common makes the comments understandable.

"I was stupid, checking for secret doors instead of looking if the floor is safe! Now how do we get over there?"
