Act 1, Scene 3: "Out of Harmony" (Game Thread)

Adran watches as the woman is greeted, since the others had their weapons out, he had drawn his sword as well. Adran cautiously approaches the woman that was crying and watches as Mira talks to her. He also greets her, Hello, may we be of any assistance Madame?

The woman continues to sob, oblivious to the group at first. Those guarding the surrounding area find no sign of treachery or ambush. She doesn't even seem to hear anyone speak or approach, that is until Mira steps directly in front of her.

Suddenly startled, she almost falls backwards and looks about with panic in her eyes. Seeing the drawn weapons seems to disturb her further, until Adran offers to help, and she realizes Artanis is guarding the grpup...

Oh! You startled me... she says in a voice still thick with tears.

"Sorry, that was not the intent I assure you. We were concerned, My name is Mira. These are my friends. No one is here you hurt you. Please, what happend here?" She asks kindly (Mira never drew a weapon)

Mira... that's nice. I'm Maria... my... my son... the tears well up again and her face contorts as the sobs threaten to take over. My Joshua... he... he... he just wamted to protect us...

"Hi Maria." Mira sits down next to her, pushing her blades away to save any trouble. "We are heading to Skald. Are you heading that way? You could travel with us. You can tell me all about Joshua." Wrapping an arm around her shoulders Mira nods to Artanis.. "Everyone, this is Maria, her Son Joshua is buried here. He died protecting her." She translates to common..

Artanis nods back. This sort of encounter was best left to those skilled with such, Mira and Elsa. Although inwardly he does a face palm at the delay to the travel schedule. For someone who enjoys relaxing while fishing, he seems intent on the destination while traveling rather than the journey to get there. An odd personality quirk perhaps?

[Nocturno]

"What, uh what is in here?" Pyros will poke at the fresh dirt.

"Pyros, Maria's Son Died here, she buired him here in this place.. Why don't you check the road and make sure no-one is coming. Perhaps Jerry can help you?" She replies, trying not to get angry at the Kender.

[Nocturno]

"Oh uh, um yes, I am needed up on the road." Pyros will blush and head up to the road.

"So... it must be less sad up here."

Jerry offers quietly, "Maria, are you hungry, dear?"

[Ooc: Kerap, a bit of yourself bleeding into Artanis there? Yes, Maria is speaking Harmonian.]

Elsa moves to join them, comforting the woman as well. Skald? No... there is nothing for me there... I couldn't leave. My home is not far from here. My husband Ontash and I live there... more sobs delay her. Little Frantosh and Jelena still... still need me...

"Perhaps." Mira grimaces slightly, knowing that Artanis would be angry at this thought. "Could we escort you home, you can tell me what happened? I'm a good listener I promise. This is Elsa and she is one of the kindest people I have ever met." She doesnt translate, the discussion with Artanis would be easier on the road, he wanted to hunt things, just maybe there was something he could do here? It was probably just an accident, but accidents seem to happen with frequency here.

She nods, clutching more of the dirt tightly for a time. Yes... yes, thank you... taking a shuddering breath, she rises. I'm ready to go home now... she squeezes the bard and halfling's hands tightly.

"May I?" She asks standing by the Grave she speaks with compassion and a calmness she didnt feel... "We give this young man to the Earth, let his Spirit find a home." (she repeats that in Common) before walking with the Woman holding her close.

"Artanis, we are going to Escort Maria home, her son died defending them, perhaps it might be the same thing you are hunting?" Hoping the Ranger would get the point she maintains a smile.
