Artanis, satisfied with Yasir's assessment that the creature will not heal it's wounds, and steps over to snag the keys off of Bakki's body. "How's the wound there, Yasir? Let's have a look at it." Artanis examines the fighter's wound to see if he needs some healing.

[OOC: Too bad Devon was asleep during Mira’s song. The morale bonus would have let him re-attempt his horror check…]
The Kender continues to try to rouse the stunned guard, but to no avail. The injury on Yasir is small but has already grown red and angry-looking, very similar to how his bite-wound looked to Mira earlier that morning. The warrior notes the Ranger’s focus and glances at his injury. Bah, it’s nothing. I’ve had worse shaving. He looks back as Mira begins calling out for aid. The Jailor’s voice calls back from around the corner, What happened? You say he is contained? Did you get him into one of the other cells? Where are my men? Bakki?! Devon?! Are you there? Devon remains silent, making only the barest twitch at the Jailor’s call.

"He attacked us.. Bakki is down, Devon went into some kind of trance.. We need help. Please." She calls back, Yasir had been bitten, he needed help, and soon.

Seeing the slight movement, Pyros will pull out a shiny silver coin. He will wave it and flip it and do some had tricks close to the guards face.
"C'mon friend snap out of it! We need to get Mira to her show!" he will look at Yasir.
"Think you can pack out both of these fellows?" He will point at Devon and Bakki.

Down? Bakki was injured? Is he alive? And Devon, was he hurt? Devon! This is Kahrus, man! Snap out of it! There is clearly an edge of worry to the man’s voice. Devon jerks at the jailor’s words, but his eyes remain glued on the pair of corpses at the end of the hall; not even seeing the Kender and the shiny coin before him.
Leave it to me, friend Pyros. I can carry them if his own legs won’t. Artanis collects the keys from Bakki, they seem to fit the cells, but there are no apparent locks on the portcullises themselves. Devon, was anyone injured? What happened to Bakki? Speak true, man!

"Just open the damn portcullis!!!" Mira almost screams, "Bakki is down, Devon isnt responding.. We need your help." She shouts again.
She tries to understand the locks but fails.

Artanis adds to the conversation. "She speaks the truth. The former prisoner attacked and Bakki fell in the line of duty. The sight of Bakki being felled by such a horrible...prisoner...was too much for Devon's mind and although he is uninjured, his mind is momentarily consumed with fear."

The jailor’s voice falls off, and the party hears footsteps leading away from the entrance. They wait expectantly, but several minutes pass and the portcullis fails to raise. While they are waiting, Elsa moves over to bandage Yasir’s wound, putting some herbs on it to prevent infection, though it is already red and warm to the touch. She mutters something about little boys collecting scars because they think it makes them look tough, but Yasir just grins at her. Finally a frail voice rises in the hall, and it takes the others a moment to realize it is Devon. Ba… Bakki? When there is no response, the guard turns wide-eyed at Mira, suddenly looking much younger to her than he had just that afternoon. He’s… He’s really gone… isn’t he…

Artanis had followed the sounds of the jailor's fading foot steps and shrugs. He thinks for a moment: Perhaps there is another way out of this dungeon. One that the guards are not aware of.
He turns to Yasir and seeing Elsa tending to the wound says: "Getting a pretty lady to treat your shaving cut? Well played, Yasir. Well played."
He makes a general statement to all who are interested: "We have an unraisable portcullis in that direction, and a ring of keys in our hands. Perhaps we should check the remaining doors for other ways out. A way may exist that is not known to the guards. How about we go and listen at each door first, Master Pyros?"

"Yes he's gone. You were not prepared for that.. I was not.. Songs damnit Mira you stupid!" She curses herself and blushes taking Devon by the hand, "Bakki is dead, we are.. Stuck. No don't panic, its going to be alright. Where is the secret door everyone is so worried he might find? If you can find it, we can get outside." Where it was dark and these things roamed the streets...
"Pyros, there is another door here somewhere, in the main corridor. Elsa how are your eyes? Cross... ?" He had elven blood, elves were sharp slighted.
What if... Focusing she sings softly..

"You're just like smoke, smoke, Smoke, yeah
Baby, you're just like smoke, blowing on the wind
One minute, you're by my side and then you're gone again.."
A small pillar of smoke appears around her, she wills it to trace the lines of the walls, watching to see if it vanishes any..

Following Mira's suggestion, Artanis will also check the corridor for secret doors or portals, while in between listening at the cell doors.

"Unliftable...? Don't we have Yasir the Rat King with us? I bet he could lift anything! He will poke Yasir on the bandage... mostly unknowingly.
After Mira casts her cantrip.
"Nice trick!" He will use the smoke to help with the search. He will also listen at the doors with Artanis.

Yasir gives the ranger a sly look, Why, didn’t you know it’s the only reason I let him even scratch me? Hah! Even without my armor and my best sword he was no match for the Mighty King Ratslayer. Turning to Pyros he corrects the Kender gently, King RatSlayer, my friend. Can’t forget that last bit. He ignores Pyros’ prodding, and looks to the Halfling and smiles, Thank you, Elsa dear. I’ll try not to make you work too hard next time. the tan warrior gives her a wink. Artanis and Pyros begin listening at doors, but don’t hear anything beyond.
Devon stands shakily as the Bard takes his hand, trying to get himself together for her sake. I… I don’t know where the secret door is, Kahrus is the only one. He said he’d let us know if we ever needed it, but I guess what happened tonight was too sudden… Mira cast a little spell with her musical magic but the smoke finds only the obvious cell doors. Artanis’ search also reveals no hidden passages within the hall itself. When Devon sees the others listening, he remarks There aren’t any other prisoners just now… Jac… he was the only one tonight… Devon stares at the dead man, shaking his head in bewilderment.

"Then you need to call Kahrus. He's the only one who can get us out. He'll debrief you." Clutching the boys hand she moves him away from the bodies and to the portcullis. "Can you please call him?" Her voice is shaking.
