Act 1, Scene 1: "Through the Undergrowth" (Main Game Thread)

Katten leads the group towards the light, grasping Dran by the scruff of the neck she hugs him tightly and leads him and the Elves with the others close behind. Her small hand slips into Dillosel's as she walks.

[ausie]

Garroth wakes when they are ready to leave and uses his maul as a crutch to help him move along. The other hand on Van's shoulder.. Thoreau looks only a little bit concerned at his frein's physical state, but doesn't stray far from Garroth.

[Nocturno]

"Hrm. This looks like it would be part of a contraption." He will look at the gnome for input as he starts to head towards the exit.

[Stik]

"Might be best we take it with us, then. Anything we can do to inconvenience them is probably worth doing," Boyd says.
Now that the hide has been removed from the worg and wrapped for travel, he separates the worg skull from the spine and bags it. On his way out of the cave he will retrieve the bundles he dropped before going into combat, and keep an eye out for a cooking pot that he can use later to boil the skull.

If poking around the altar shows up nothing new, then Linar will head towards the exit to catch up with the others.
He'll keep an eye on the walls in case anything unusual catches his attention (e.g. concealed/secret doors, or compartments or whatever hidey-holes.)

Dillosel squeezes Katten’s paw-like hand back in silent thanks, Dran trotting close by. Eariel and the humans follow close behind.

Linar and the small folk follow, the drow keeping a lookout for hidden passages. Nocturno questions Fiz regarding the unusual item while they make their way out. Oh? I’m not sure… it’s obvious this thing is incomplete, he says; observing the rivet holes and the groove at the bottom. Maybe some kind of wand or Rod, but it’s much too large for the former and small for the latter… Considering it he abruptly smacks one end on a hard abutment of stone nearby as they stroll. The sound rings out in the cave, but he seems unconcerned. See that? He asks, showing the end to Nocturno, not a mark… I’d wager you could beat it with a hammer without so much as scratching it… without more parts there’s no telling what it could be… He says, handing the piece back. By the by, the name is Oul Fizfordian Gemsniffer Burburrin Blitzpistol. he says, sticking his hand out for the elf to shake. But since you rescued us you can call me Fizford or just Fiz.

Just don’t call him “Fizzle”, Arac chimes in with a smirk. He hates that. Fizford shoots the injured Halfling a good, honest glare.

Boyd and Salem gather up their gear and the Worg pelt, moving at a sedate pace behind the group. The itch to leave the cavern grows as the Dwarf nears the exit, becoming almost unbearable the closer he gets to freedom. He manages to keep from breaking into a run for the open air, but only just.

Thoreau lingers near the shrine to join his friend as Garroth, Vanidur and Elden appear; bringing up the rear.


Finally the group arrive at the exit, and begin their precarious walk along the ledge to higher ground. The waning light of day casts odd shadows along the sides of the expanse; places where who knows what predators might hide. In the depths of the chasm itself, however, night has long since fallen…

Garroth is suddenly faced with the prospect of navigating the narrow ledge in his weakened condition. The rope he used before was well and good when his body was strong, but in his weakened state, it might be difficult to rely on…

It is about 1 hour until twilight.

[Nocturno]

"Ah the pleasure is mine. Uh Fiz, Nocturno of Misan. Does that mean it might be made of a special material?" he will quickly shake the gnome's hand.

He will sigh, looking at the rod.

[Jenara]

"Jeg gjorde?" Katten asks her ears picking up the name, "Funny small people." As they get to the cave mouth she turns back to the group. "I check rope at other end.. You use rope." Unless she is stopped she turns to Garroth. "Bull man, you injured, be careful. We have more rope?" She asks waiting.

[Nocturno]

"That is all the rope I have." Nocturno will point at the rope securing the goblin.

[Jenara]

"Ek ontbind jou, jy doen soos ek sê. Of ek vermoor jou." She tells the Goblin as she moves behind him. "Dran kyk, hy hou daarvan om Nisser dood te maak." The young wolf growls deeply.

"There's a huge amount of supplies back there. Might be rope. Want me to check?" queries Linar.

[Jenara]

"You have good idea, get lots of rope to help Bull Man." She agrees.

[Chris1234]

"Thanks; will do. Anyone else coming that can see in without light?" replies the drow with an appreciative smile to Katten.

[Nocturno]

"I will go." slips from Nocturno's lips before he realizes he is volunteering to go undergroind with a drow! He will need to keep his guard up.

[Jenara]

"Come back quickly." She responds the Wolf glaring at the Goblin.
