Striking nothing more than a matted clump of fur on the creature, Artanis mutters "Curses, you're not here to give the thing a haircut!". Although the song helps steady his nerves, and he quips to Yasir: "I'll be glad to cut the pelt for you! Swing away!"

The Ranger does wonder what that strange barking, yipping noise is behind him, but he does not turn around.

"Apparently I hit a nerve! You smelly wet dog! Ow ow waaoooooooooo! Pyros will then try to poke in with his hoopak.

(OoC: I can't hurt it anyway, roll for me if you want. A nice satisfying smack for no damage will be fine with Pyros!)

Everything happens at once. Elsa rushes to Devon’s side shaking him awake. He groggily looks up as the enraged wolf-man begins to try to burst past Yasir in order to reach the Kender. The creature rakes at the warrior’s weapon off-handedly with his right claws, but fails to disarm him. The beast then grabs him hard by his tunic with is left and throws him to the ground, but not before the well-trained fighter slips the silver short sword between the Wolf’s ribs and straight into his heart! The cruel thing goes limp even before he hits the ground with a meaty slap, head rebounding off the stone.

Gradually Devon wakes up, the bloodied prisoner dead at his feet. He scrambles backwards away from the deceased thing, obviously still frightened of it. Yasir stands and wipes his sword on the fur. Now. To go about getting my new cloak! Well done, Pyros. Your distraction was just what I needed to finish him off! As he turns back to presumably skin the wolf-man, the body twists and writhes, shrinking back to the size of a normal man. Wolfish fur draws into the skin, which pales to a creamy-white. The savage jaws crack and bend, pulling back into the face of a human man in his mid thirties with jet-black hair. The figure bears all of the wounds the wolf-creature took and is most certainly dead. The powerful warrior strikes a nearby door hard with one fist. Will I never get my wolf pelt! Ye gods! Filthy rat-men are all you’ll give me, eh! He fumes a bit longer but crosses his arms and leans against the wall, glaring at the body as if he could will it back to its former shape. Elsa simply stares at the new transformation…

Artanis gives Yasir a slap on the back in appreciation of his handiwork.
Turning to the others he asks: "Do any of the spell casters have a fire spell that can be used to burn this body?"

"Burn it?!? After it just did that marvelous magic trick?" Pyros will look dumbfounded.

"If I'd of had one, I'd of used it..." Mira comments breaking her song, "Whatever it is, it's dead.. I've never seen.. " she stumbles over her words. "That surely is a savage beast."

"Yasir could you help with the body? We should..." She takes a deep breath moving to Devon.. "Its dead, really dead. I... I need to get out of here."

I don't think we should start a fire indoors, Elsa says, unless you wamt there to be eight more bodies... and I doubt the village will let us burn him in the street... Yasir takes Jaconos by the wrists and drags him into the cormer by the wall. Sitting him up so the body is slumped over. He moves Bakki to the opposite corner in the same fashion so the guard isn't just lying there.

Mira moves over to Devon, but he is just staring at Jaconos' corpse and taking ragged, uneven breaths.

"I know. I'm sorry.. You wanted him contained, not killed." Hanging her head she frowns at her own actions.. No armor, useful weapons or spells..

"Its callous but let's go back, explain.. Someone else can.. See that Bakki is treated like a hero." Wrapping an arm round the guard she turns away from the blood, hoping the others follow suit.

"Yeah fires inside are not good ideas!" Pyros will have a thoughtful look on his face.

Aye, he died bravely. He faced a formidable foe and did his duty. Yasir says to Devon. The man remains seated against the wall where he scrambled to after waking, only staring and showing no sign that he even hears the others.

Artanis is a bit perplexed as to why the others are so worried about burning the body inside a stone structure - perhaps they are concerned about the fumes - fair enough. The Ranger is concerned that the creature will heal itself, so he watches the wounds on the "corpse" to ensure they are not mending. He also wonders if the spell casters can use the blood from such a creature.

"I'm quite in the mood for songs right now." Mira responds with a shakiness to her voice. "Devon..." She grabs the mans shoulder but fails to get a response.

"Put him.." She motions to the body of Jaconos, noting how Artanis was watching the body intently. "Are you thinking that he might rise again? Like some Undead? I don't know these creatures, they are alien to me. If you think he might, put him in the cell.. I'm going back to the gate. Try to get him to move." With that she turns and heads back to the first portcullis.

"Let us out please, Jaconos is ... Contained." She shouts.

Devon remains unresponsive. The body of Jaconos does not seem to be regenerating, or doing anything else for that matter; aside from slowly leaking heartblood on the already filthy floor. Artanis spots a ring of jailer's keys on Bakki's body nearby. He won't get back up. Yasir says matter-of-factly, glaring at the body and scratching one arm. Once they die they change back to human form. Once that happens they're done. Elsa moves over to check on Devon. He seems ok, aside from the shock... I can't say I blame him after that... I think he'll be ok in a few minutes. The cleric begins talking to him quietly and patting his shoulder. Mira heads back but only makes it halfway back to the main room. There are three sets of cross-hatch portcullises between the party and the exit. None of them have keyholes.

[Ooc: if you're putting Jaconos in a cell, please specify which.]

Pyros will snap his fingers in front of Devons face. In common: "Hoy there bud, wake up!"

Then in Harmonian: "Excusez mon muscle lié ami. Ses muscles utilisent tout son sang au moment!"

Language Check: [1d100] = 5

He will then give Devon a good natured slap on the back.
