"Jerry, what did it look like? I've read everything there is on this thing. Let me help." She gives Karl a look of approval, getting ready to move with the Scouts.

Jerry describes the crown as best she can and then goes rigid, "Wait! Wait! The old woman in my dream - her name was Magda! I'd forgotten. How was the evil b**** in the bone tower named?"

Scrutinizing the object of their attentions from afar, the crown appears exact to Jerry's dream. The Mystaran calls upon her goddess, the keeper of the weave, to unveil the threads of magic nearby to her eyes. In the long hall as they approach.

Art and Pyros lead the way, searching the surfaces for any sign of sinister intent but finding none. Likewise Jerry's enhanced eyes spot naught magical but a few posessions of the party, thus far. Mira and Karl approach along with the Mystaran; Elsa close behind. The remainder of the group remains at the entrance to the chamber as the Ranger and Rogue draw within 10 feet of the dais...

Jerry uses a special Clerical Ability Detect Magic

"I see nothing magical here apart from what we brought with us," announces Jerry. "Well, that's a surprise. I thought the crown would be magical for sure!"

"Its not magical? How is that possible?" Mira asks in concern.

Karl keeps his shield at the ready to protect them, his concern evident on his face. This didnt feel right to him at all.

Merrick stops. Not magical... That girl Akriel kept on about this being a powerful artifact... Seems like either this isn't it and thus likely a trap, or it has some kind if nondetection... perhaps we can glean more, provided we don't... touch it... until we're ready he muses

Hearing Merrick, Pyros stops dead in his tracks, already with his arm stretched out.

"Oh um we aren't ready?"

Oh, umm... well it seems Jerry noticed it isn't magic... so it seems it may be a trick of some kind... Do you see anything else up tere? Or odd about the crown or surroundings? he asks

He pulls his hands down.

He then will inspect the area.

Slowly checking out the floor, then the structure supporting the crown.

"Should we put a rope around him?" Jerry asks.

Pyros inspects the area thoroughly. At first he cannot find anything but at the last moment, and purely by chance, he spots a thin wire connected to the crown on the inside and running into the collumnar base. Upon closer inspection, it seems the heavy base is not fastened to the floor; merely sitting atop it...

"Now that is clever."

He nods as he hops back over to the group.

"Seems like there is a trap after all!" He then proudly explains what he found.

"Damn, this place is making me too suspicous. I do hate being right.." Mira answers as Pyros returns. "So, its trapped? Is that because its the real thing, OR because someone wants us to think its real."
