A fresh start

"You dance well." brax comments, saying nothing of his hands on her, strange he was closer than any of the others. Gently moving his hand that had slowly been creeping down her backside side spins him violenty around, "watch your hands good sir!" she does not notice the figure arrive.

Vee turns around her head to the guy with the message. Being drunk don't stop curiosity, so she walks onto him, more or less in the direct way and asks: "For whom" she hiccups "sorry- for whom is this message? And from whom is it?"

Searos grins and merely shrugs heading over to the food. "Don't matter what race they are, women are all the same in the dark," he calls over to Gunter. He laughs as he pops some morsel into his mouth leaning over the railing to see what the message is all about.

Echo turns her attention to the new messenger, and shakes her head. Excusing herself from Gunter, she goes to retrieve the message. "What is it this time?"

Amon groans. "Had I know we were to face this constant onslaught of messages, I would have taken the boat out to the bay and anchored it there instead," he complains. This was not going nearly as well as he had hoped.

"If you'd done that, Bright Eyes might have chucked me over the side. That would have been awkward." Searos quips to Amon.

When Echo unfolds the piece of paper, she reads:

"In the interest of fence-mending, you are hereby invited, subsequent to the conclusion of your soiree this evening, to visit Tel’s tavern, where an evening of mirth and merriment, dedicated to the town militia, is underway.

Visiting the tavern will provide an opportunity, in front of a large and happy crowd of townsfolk, to thank the militiamen who assisted you during your recent venture.

Such public gesture of appreciation will surely have a positive effect on your reputation among the townsfolk and will serve to cement your relationship with the hard-working civil servants of the militia.

Such opportunities being rare, it is hoped that you will take full advantage of same.

Echo shoos away the message boy and starts laughing after she reads the note. The moment she is done, she tears it up into tiny little pieces and tosses them in the air without giving it another thought. "Persistent little fool," she says as she walks back up to the deck of the boat. "He sent another invite to his little party in the tavern."

[Jenara]

"I would think that one more invite would cause me to reconsider attending.!" brax laughs, giving searos a wink, maybe he wasn't so bad.

"Amon, Echo, he obviously wants us to attend, it might be fun to watch him make a fool of himself."

[JadedDM]

Amon frowns. "You mean to make fools out of us. That is his motive in wanting us to attend. That is all he has striven to do since he first arrived here."

[Jenara]

"Perhaps, I can give as good as I get." Brax replies, "This is supposed to be a party." grabbing Amon before he can protest in her strong arms she motions to the musicians to slow down the music. Slowly and carefully she leads amon around the deck, making sure he can keep up. "I will go slow." she smiles looking up at him.

Amon nearly trips over himself when Brax grabs him. He quickly steadies himself when they start dancing, but it does little to help. He has no rhythm whatsoever; it is almost as if he can't even hear the music at all. He has difficulty keeping up, despite the fact that it is a slow dance. He feels stiff and awkward in her arms and keeps looking down at his feet in an attempt to avoid stepping on her own.

"Worst comes to worst, we can always show up and heckle him?" Gunter suggests.

[JadedDM]

"That is probably exactly what he wants," Amon says, accidentally stepping on one of Brax's toes. "Oops, sorry." His eyes flick between Gunter and Brax's feet as he attempts to divide his concentration between what he is saying and what he is doing. "Any heckle or jeer directed at him, he will redirect to the constables--accuse us of not appreciating them, since this party is supposedly in their benefit. I suspect the only ones really benefiting from the performance, however, is the jester himself."

[Jenara]

"Well I live there for the time being, so I have to go back. I might as well go to the party..." She endures Amon treading on her feet with a good cheer, smiling up at him as the song ends.

"I am not afraid of him, and besides I am not the most popular person, he can't make that worse."
