I was going to suggest the story of the split of Eilistraee the daughter of Corellon Larethian and of Araushnee, since Drow are on his mind since Linar was in the group, and it is pulling at his mind.

Yes, it's painfully obvious he is bleeding to death at Van's feet (to everyone except Linar who is far away). Unfortunately, everyone near him is in melee...
