A fresh start

Kim looks around after boarding the vessel. "This boat belongs to your family, mage Amon? It is a very nice craft indeed"

"Thank you, Mage Kim," Amon says. The young man is wearing a dapper silk tunic, finely made pantaloons, and a warm cloak to keep off the night chill; his boots are highly polished to the point that they practically reflect. His hair is combed and styled meticulously. He looks every part the dashing nobleman, so long as he holds perfectly still. Any movement, and his ungraceful clumsiness shatters the verisimilitude at once.

Brax appears on deck just after Kim, wearing the green dress, now fitting her bust she gives herself a little pat on the back, she looked good, decent even.

Letting the skirt swoosh around her legs, she boards the vessel slightly nervous, the green and white underskirt visible as she does so. She hadn't sailed anywhere yet, being on the sea was a strange feeling.

"Amon, Kim." She says softly, glad the dress still showed off her bust, yet kept it hidden, even Echo might approve.

Vee follows Brax, wearing her new blue dress. Her long black hair falls opened over her shoulders... with the result that she had to put them behind her ears permanently, cause they fall in front of her face like a curtain. Nevertheless she seems happy and she grins while she says hello to Amon and Kim.

"So let's go Partying! Where is the rest of the party?"

Gunter is already on board the vessel when the ladies arrive...gatherings like this have always made him slightly uncomfortable so he's busying himself with tapping the barrel and doing ither minor tasks. Unlike the women and Amon, he wears nothing fancier than a green homespun tunic and brown leather breeches tucked into soft calfskin boots. As a habit, his longsword is still slung at his side. His hair however, normally shaggy and wild, had been combed down and his beard trimmed making for a nobler-than-normal appearance.

He greets Amon and then his jaw drops slightly at the arrival of the women in the party.

"Sister Brax, welcome to the Skylark," Amon says with a nod.

"Why, Miss Vee, you look quite lovely this evening," he adds upon seeing the young woman. It was interesting for him to see what everyone looked like in a more formal setting like this. Silently, he admitted to himself that he had not expected someone as 'wild' as Veeleyana to clean up so nicely. She even outshone the more exotic Brax, in Amon's mind.

Placing a hand on the ranger's shoulder, he says softly, "Be wary, Master Gunter. You're likely to attract insects, leaving your mouth open like that."

Kim's appearance, like Gunter's, has not chaged much. It's the same black leather trousers, boots and vest and white linen shirt as always, but everything is spotlessly clean. The black hair is tied back in a ponytail, setting off the angular features and slightly pointed ears.

At Amon's remark to Gunter, Kim turns around, dropping a hand from in front of the mouth that had probably been hiding a smile. "Indeed, ladies, you look lovely."

Searos is leaning against the barrel "helping" Gunter tap it. He takes a pull from a flask as everybody joins the ship. He looks just as shabby as ever though his tunic does appears to be less stained than usual. So there's that. He raises the flask to each person as they join the party while quietly berating Gunter for being so slow at getting the booze flowing.

"Gentlemen, Ladies." Brax bows, happy that her dress was nice, Chiara was quite lovely, she had done her proud. "Indeed Little One, lets have a party."

She looks at Amon, smiling, "Constable Geraldine will be calling by, I hope thats ok?"

"Oh...uh, certainly. Always room for one more," Amon says. It had never occurred to him to invite the constable, but he had no objection to it.

[Jenara]

"She is one of us now, in a way, so she should come too." She looks out to the quay, "I believe she has another invite though."

[JadedDM]

"One of us? Another invite?" Amon asks, having no idea what the priestess meant by those remarks. After all, Petersson had not fought alongside them against the walking dead haunting the mansion. She had not faced Sanbalet and his thugs. Indeed, the constables never stepped foot into the mansion until the party had braved the dangers on their own, and then only showed up when Amon was able to telepathically summon help from within.

Not that the young apprentice has anything against the woman, he just wasn't following Brax's line of reasoning. Despite growing up in the same town as Petersson, he didn't really know her well. As a youth, Amon was not at all rebellious, and so never ran afoul the law. Consequently, he had little dealings with them. He was sure she was good at her job, although as a person, he found her a tad dull. Nothing about her really seemed to catch his attention; then again, perhaps having spending a few days with such a colorful group as this, he had been spoiled in that regard.

"I believe I would correct in saying our friend Drake is up to something, she did not deny the suggestion." Brax eyes Amon strangely, surely he knew they all owed the Constables something. "We owe them, and she has become part of this world."

Shaking her head, she grabs Vee's hand. "Come little one, let us dance."

Brax's answers only prove to confuse Amon further than he already was. "Up to something? Part of this world--what world?" He shakes his head. Perhaps there was some communication problem here. He always did have difficulty sussing out meaning in the cleric's cryptic responses. He wonders briefly if she deliberately obfuscates her statements in an attempt to sound wiser and more 'priest-like.'

He never could understand why people don't just say what they mean clearly, instead of always dancing around truth with riddles and puzzles. Perhaps that was part of what made that jester who keeps hounding them so grating to him.

He helps himself to another goblet of cider, and looks out toward the town, wondering if Echo was going to be fashionably late or not show at all. It was always difficult to predict with her. She could easily decide the whole thing was ridiculous, and later criticize Amon for 'wasting time' with merry-making when he could instead be studying. Then again, it was equally possible that she would show up, if for no other reason than to find something about the party to complain about.

Between Brax's alien etiquette and Echo's shrewish insults, Amon finds himself wondering if he was ever going to meet a woman that didn't seem to exist solely to befuddle him.

Echo stares at the plank that leads up to the Skylark. Part of her didn't quite understand why she even bothered coming to this little party. What did she care about socializing with these people? When other parties were held within the town, she usually skipped them as she had more important things to do. ~I might as well board the ship,~ she tells herself.

Aside from the fact that Echo is actually attending the party, she is also wearing a light purple dress instead of her normal (and in her opinion much more comfortable) robes. The dress hangs just slightly off her shoulders, and flows down to her ankles. Around her waist rests a matching cloth belt. Her hair falls down in light waves just over her shoulders, while the front is held back with a simple but elegant light purple headband. She certainly looks mores like a woman tonight instead of the typical grumpy mage that everyone knows.

"Amon," Echo says as she approaches the man.
