Cal, Cross, Elsa and Mira: Toad's Toe
They were ferocious enough... Elsa said, thoughtfully. But we were able to hurt them without magical or silver weapons... so I think those were only normal wolves... except for being enormous!
Artanis, Pyros and Yasir: The Loop
Yasir gives the Ranger a flat look when he starts elaborating on the tan warrior's exploits, but a slow grin crosses his features. What do I need more bards for? You are telling the tale well enough for now. You can be my sidekick! A full-bodied laugh erupts from him. Come Pyros, let us find you some armor so we can be prepared to lay low these beasts. As the men begin to walk, they realize they don't actually remember exactly where the leather-goods store is... They get to the intersection of the loop 1 block south of the Silver Scale... But should they go left, or right?

"Pyros will find the nearest local and say the phrase Mira taught him about him wanting armour."

"Interesting..." Mira muses making a few notes she records some typical translations for future reference, just in case she encounters this language again.
"Either way.. We need to be alert, watch each others backs." She smirks in Crosses direction. "Magic use when suitable, not for frivolous reasons."
With that she stands, "Thank you." Giving the sage a smile she hands him the book. "I wonder where the missing sections are? May I ask how you obtained it?"

Artanis, Pyros and Yasir: The Loop
Pyros perfectly parrots the phrase to the first person he sees, pointing at Artanis' leather armor. The man is a little taken aback at first, but looks to the Ranger, then the Kender. A small smile quirks one corner of his mouth and he points back the way they came, then gestures northward saying;
Retour d'un bloc, puis vers le nord un seul bloc. Le Cuir Sanglier est la gauche. Pyros almost feels as if he can understand, but the meaning of the words evade him.
Cal, Cross, Elsa and Mira: Toad's Toe
If we're going to protect each other, shouldn't we stick together? Elsa says, poking her head outside looking for Pyros.
Oh, someone who couldn't open it traded it to me long ago... funny, I don't recall any missing passages... curious... it was all much the same.
-----
Pyros, Artanis, Yasir lang check to find leathergoods [1d100] = 11[1d100] = 89[1d100] = 48. All fail.
He can still try to follow the gestures...

"Well that was gobbly gook, but I think I understood the hand directions." He will start to walk and check over his shoulder to make sure the larger ones follow.

"Indeed this has the beginnings of a grand adventure - or perhaps the title of a book - Lost in Harmonia. Moving is better than being idle - unless we're fishing." The ranger quips with a grin.

Artanis, Pyros and Yasir: The Loop
The trio take the path back the way they came until they reach the five-points intersection. Turning North they move down a short block. Taking in the buildings here they seem to be in an even worse state of repair, with more debris lying about. One house on the left, with damaged shutters and a cracked front door, boasts a small wooden sign that has fallen down recently. Yasir tips it up to reveal the painted surface which looks like it hasn't been touched up in years. The crudely crafted image depicts a boar being skinned...

"Well there are whole stanzas missing." Mira suggests. "Right, you are right Elsa."
"Do you know where the nearest leatherworker is? And the best?" She asks the Sage as she starts to roll up the papers.

Artanis is wearing leather armor.
Artanis follows Pyros into the shop if that is what he does. "A skinned boar...interesting. Perhaps this is a taxidermy shop? Or it could be a shop exactly what we are looking for - nothing ventured, nothing gained."

Pyros will rush in and blurt out the phrase about wanting armour as soon as he sees someone who was in the shop before he entered.

Cal, Cross, Elsa and Mira: Toad’s Toe
Leather? Rautant asks, looking at the door through which the Kender disappeared. Closest would be the Boar’s Hide… if Lambrey is about… he’s not always open these days. He’ll try to cheat you if he thinks he can get away with it, but he used to be the best… Just turn North at Five points and you’ll find him on the left. He runs the ‘business’ out of his house… The other shop is Laurent’s on The Loop. It’s not far from the Wayfarer’s Rest. Northeast corner of one of the small intersections.
Artanis, Pyros and Yasir: The Boar’s Hide
Pyros bursts through the split door, held together by hastily and shoddily hammered up planking. Yasir and Artanis follow closely behind. The hinges give a pitiful screech and the door slams into a table next to it. Both the table and door bear marks as if this has happened many times before. The first room appears to be a den-like area with a fireplace that looks like it might never have been cleaned out. The furniture isn’t in much better shape, and shows signs of damage; both intentional and merely neglectful. The entire place is a wreck, from what the men can see. Leather-goods in various states of quality and completion lay strewn about amid material scraps, neglected tools, small personal belongings, tableware and dirty clothes.
From another room a middle-aged man shambles in, squinting and rubbing his balding head of white hair. The years have not been kind to him and he sways unsteadily as he walks. Thin, reedy arms and a shallow chest are at odds with his pot-belly. The fellow smells as if he hasn’t washed in weeks and appears to be wearing the badges of his last dozen meals or so. One thing that does catch the eye is the leather tunic he wears. It was obviously once a very fine garment, but should have been thrown out or used for scraps nigh on a decade ago… The kender blurts out his phrase, but jumbles the syllables and makes nonsense of it. The man’s eyes wander aimlessly back and forth between the three until finally landing on Pyros. The man begins to mumble almost unintelligibly in Eleven. Left that cursed land to get away from your frgl vndrds Spitting onto a pile of dirty clothes he gives Pyros a baleful glare before continuing in an odd-sounding version of Kenderspeak, The hell do you want?! Go back to Sithicus.

"Thank you. You have given mer much to consider. I'm sure I will be back." Bowing she makes her way out, her eyes adjusting to the afternoon light. Seeing the lack of the boys she starts walk at Elsa pace to the closest shop. "I have to head back soon. I need to change and prepare." She comments to the group.

[Ooc: lol, I guess everyone with Mira is in npc mode for the moment. Time is about 5:30 pm. Sundown in about an hour]
Cal, Cross, Elsa and Mira: 5-points
Rautant nods and bids them evening, slipping a note to Elsa. As the group steps outside they notice the long shadows of evening approaching, giving the ramshackle neighborhood an eerie feel. Hurrying to the intersection, Mira decides to try the nearest shop first. The buildings here seem to be in an even worse state of repair, with more debris lying about. Only three buildings stand on the West side of the indicated block. The central home boasts a fallen sign, damaged shutters and a cracked front door. As they draw closer they see the painted surface which looks like it hasn't been touched up in years. The crudely crafted image depicts a boar being skinned...

In Kender: "I'm looking for a suit of armour, leather. It appears we may have come to the wrong place!"
