It's true the manual probably lists them as piercing, but they are swords, I typically think of a short sword like a roman sword, capable of both slashing and piercing. Does that sound fair?

So, if I don't hear any objections (soon), I'm going to assume that the treasure is split up thus:

Zurgo: Spell book, 1 ration
Jasmine: 6 daggers, 1 ration
Gaheris: 5 gold, 1 ration
Ishan: 5 gold, 1 ration
Benjamin: 5 gold, 1 ration
Kannock: 5 gold, 1 ration

And that the party continues their treck to Trevsville.

If anyone has suggestions for beating Haahque in hnefatafl or even putting up a fight, I'll probably need them.

Sorry, I'm pretty sure I couldn't even say 'hnefatafl' much less play it.

I stole the name from an actual game from history, although I created the rules listed here.

There isn't much on the line with the old man, but if I play for higher stakes elsewhere I might need some strategy help... or perhaps some trickery, in order to gain what we need.

Just as a heads up for everyone else. Ishan in his last post said he was leaving for the farm alone -> so I did a 1on1 RP with him and figured out what happened.

He's likely not going to show up at the church to meet you all. But if he wants to post, he's welcome to.

I know in 2E there are spells useful in interrogation. Stuff like ESP, Zone of Truth, Detect Lie and so forth. Do such things exist in Pathfinder, and if so, does the party have access to them (including from Warren; no idea his level)?

Such spells do exist in pathfinder, however the party does not have access to any external spells right now. Warren, although you do not know his level, is exhausted by the combat after a day of work (which included casting spells) -> so he's out of all of his spells except for cantrips.

As for in the party, Benji's used up all his level 1 bard spells, but he still has witch spells, including "charm person". Which might help. Kannock's too low level to have spells yet, Zurgo's spells are not extremely useful outside of combat except maybe as intimidation/harm purposes.

And you don't know what Alex has access to. Perhaps he has something that helps, but even if he did, why would he tell you?

Ok, this is pretty much as much information as I wanted those cultists to have/be able to give. Now the party gets to divide up the loot and choose their next course of action.

Follow Alex in the scouting mission to the tower?
Hit Trevsville and do any buying/selling the need to do and leave before Alex gets back from his scouting mission?
Hit Trevsville and wait around for the duel to happen?
Strike off in a different direction, perhaps towards the southern forest to go after the leads for the quill?
Attempt to finish the ritual that the cultists started and summon whatever unspeakable evil they were trying to summon?
Something else entirely?

Also, since mgbevan hasn't shown up in a while, I was going to take this opportunity for him to choose a different choice then the party, to get him out of the way until such a time as he wanted to return.

My vote is to hit the village, rest awhile and then head south. The duel would probably be funny, but also a pain for everyone else.

I'll assume that Gaheris splits up the money without difficulty, so I'll add 3 gold to Gaheris, Jasmine, Ishan, Benjamin, Zurgo and Kanock.

Kanock however, will not continue adventuring with the party, due to his player's extended absence. Hopefully Hihim will be a welcome repleacement :)
