CH. 9: Road to Tu'Valie

"I agree with Andar. It is too early to make camp, so cut out what meat we need, and we can cook it when we make camp at night," Jocelyn says before she looks to Bearos. "And you are talking to two women that had a hard time killing a bunch of people that were actively trying to kill us," she explains. "I hope that they don't have the same problem this time around."

[Jenara]

"Agreed. We don't have time, while the meat is appreciated, I don't want to spend hours now, get what you can, and we move on." Arei agrees, "Some mistakes come back to haunt you always Jocelyn, I have to live with that choice."

[BishGada]

Baeros grunts, "I don't need your help... I can prepare the meat myself... I don't want you to dirty your delicate hands..." he says sarcastically. Then he rolls his eyes, "Don't you think I thought of cutting the meat and take it with us? But I don't have the bags for that, and I didn't think you do. It will all fill with blood. But if you have the bags, or Val knows good enough trick to keep the hide wraps from leaking blood, I will prepare the meat quickly."
Baeros is somewhat encouraged by Ouragana reaction. 'At least one woman here is got some sense in her head' he thinks to himself.

"I often wonder whether we will come to regret leaving that island without finishing them off," Andar muses.

With Val's assistance, Baeros cuts out what meat he can from the deer and packs it up on Thunder.

"Shall we move on?" asks Andar.

Baeros obtains 6 pounds of raw deer meat.

Andar's remark sbout the island where they met him makes Ouragana shiver involuntarily, but she says nothing. When they go on, she picks up thunder's reins with more confidence than before. "Come on, good boy" she says softly, patting his neck clumsily.

[Jenara]

"Thinking back.... I'm am not convinced we made the right choice..." She responds grimly, "Yes lets move."

"How are you holding up?" She asks the warrior as they walk, keeping her distance she keeps her eyes open searching as she walks.

[HorizonsDream]

"You were so...against it at the time," Jocelyn says to Areilon as she starts walking again.

[Jenara]

"A year on your own, even as an elf is an awful long time to think.. Made me realize a few things, my actions on the island. came out of... I don't know, I thought killing them would be wiping out a race, much like my own civilisation was destroyed." She looks up at Andar, her hand straying near his side but not touching out of respect.

"They are evil I get that now, not misunderstood, just downright evil."

[BishGada]

Baeros, still in his dark mood, keeps the rearguard position and says nothing... 'wiping out races... yeah, our empires destroyer little elf...' he thinks to himself and grunts.

[Nuke]

"I remember that, we should have kept going. I could almost feel the release of evil when I snapped that one's neck. And it took you guys a year to figure that one out." Val grunts to end her speech.

[Breila]

"I am sorry, Val, for freaking out then" Ouragana says quietly. "I have been brought up to respect all cultures, and to refrain from doing violence except for immediate self-preservation. It was the experience on that island that showed me this can't always be right. I have yet to find a new moral compass."

[Jenara]

"I think we all do." Arei does not push Andar to respond, if he wanted to reply he would. She'd realised he would need time. "Val... I should have listened to you, but I didn't."

[JadedDM]

"How are you holding up?"

"I'm fine," Andar says as they continue walking. "I've tried to put it all behind me."

[Jenara]

"I'm impressed." She replies softly, "You should be proud of yourself.."

Jocelyn smiles slightly at Andar, knowing that she had some part in his recovery, and that makes he feel kind of good about herself. ~I did something right, I guess,~ she thinks to herself.
