Searos climbs up the ladder following after Patches and as Patches starts to speak is pretty sure that he's going to get killed.

Two sailors are standing at the railing to the left and right of the rope ladder. They watch Martin climb aboard and go out of his way when he tumbles, and go on to watch him. This means Searos and Reller can climb aboard without being challenged.

Towards the stern of the boat, there is a raised area. With his night vision, Martin can see several people are standing there. One of them moves towards him, with an air of authority. "Sanbalet has ever stranger minions these days" he says, looking Martin, and Searos when he arrives, over.

"Indeed." Brax whispers back, casting bless on the group before she climbs the chain.

Brax and Vee manage to climb up the chain, followed by Krtk and Khchk. When the two women stand on deck, suddenly a bright light sweeps over them.

"We're being invaded!" a voice shouts. It comes from where the light is, to their right, apparently on the upper aft deck. Right in front of them is the capstan, they have to go around it to get to the stairs to the main deck which is on the starboard side. A man suddenly runs from the bowsprit to these stairs, directly towards Martin and Reller. Next to these stairs, three doors in the wall lead to the rooms below the forecastle. Once he is down on the main deck, the man turns to the closest of these doors.

The light that has been used to shine on the two women is now moving towards the stairs that lead from the poop deck to the main deck (those are on the port side). There are four doors that lead to the areas below the poop deck.

(Actions from everyone, please)

Gunter swears to himself under his breath and then grabs the chain, hauling himself up as quickly as possible to enter the fray.

[OOC] Is there a map, perhaps? I'm kind of a visual guy, you know? [/OOC]

"Great," grumbles Martin. He still hadn't had enough time to gather information, or to see if a non-violent resolution would have been possible. But, hey, when life gives you lemons, you squirt the juice in your foemen's eyes. So he says, more loudly, so Reller and Searos can hear: "Wombat."

This sailor heading for the door into the fo'c'stle is most likely not headed in there to get us a pot of tea. In fact, whatever he's doing in there is probably not to our benefit in any imaginable way. So it is clearly to our benefit that he be stopped.
If the door swings out onto the deck (which would be apparent by whether the hinges are on the outside) Martin will stand right outside the door, with his back foot a few inches from it. If it swings into the fo'c'stle he will instead take a step or two toward the man, to block the man's route.
He draws his rapier and his silk bouquet. If the man keeps coming, Martin will try to stop him.

"Listen up, you apes: your vessel is taken. Drop your weapons and put both hands on the rail, all of you, and I won't let the royal marines hurt you." he shouts.

[OOC] A few questions:
Where is the light coming from? And what sort of light is it?
Are the crewmen on deck armed?

Hand on her Mace, Brax curses under her breath for a split second, before falling behind the two Gnolls. "Careful Vee, allow our friends to aid us." She whispers, "Help." She says in Gnoll, pointing towards the Capstan.

(Can brax see anyone with her Elven Sight? She is preparing to cast Hold person, 1d4=2 People held, the second she sees anyone.)

Before the light was shone on her and blinded her elvensight temporarily, Brax could see the man at the stern, and the two on the main deck who had lowered the rope ladder for Martin and Searos (and those two, of course).
Searos could shoot at the man as he comes down the stairs and turns toward the doors, sure.

The person bearing the light (the signaling lantern, in fact) is on the poop deck, moving towards the stairs, on the port side, that lead down to the main deck. The crew men each carry a dagger and a short sword.

The doors all swing out onto the deck.

Reller steps to the side and gathers his spell components for a brief acid spell as he surveys the combat field! Targeting the nearest pirate, he calls upon the magical energy within and summons forth an acidic bolt of magical force (( Melf's Acid Arrow )) as he calls out. "Esto perpetua!"

(( 2d4 damage from acid, one additional round of damage unless neutralized ))

Targeting the man on the Stern, and the man running with the lamp Brax shouts a single word. "Kaiali" in an authoritive tone. (Casts hold person on them.)

".%&!$!" She mutters, waiting for Gunter before moving.

Yes, I should have drawn Gunter clambering over the railing, the same holds true for Reller. Kim follows suit, then Geraldine. Climbing up the chain takes one round, however.

Jenara, "Hold Person" is a spell effective in a 20ft cube, so you could target either the man who ran down from the stern, starboard side, OR the one with the light running towards the stairs on the port side.
