Re: FC1 - CH 1: Welcome to Sturnheim
"All three of us lived on a ranch, so most of us are pretty good with animals. Sparrow is probably the best when it comes to the animals. Hallie is a great cook. I'm decent with a sword."
Re: FC1 - CH 1: Welcome to Sturnheim
The girls dig into their meals, quite famished. Even Hallie has a difficult time in maintaining her good table manners.
"Now that you mention animals, you might be able to find something at the stables. I heard one of their stable-hands quit a couple of weeks back to find better work to the north," Mama Chipmunk says. "As for cooking, I don't know what to say. It's just me and Rosa here, but that's all we really need. We don't get very busy, you see. And for swordwork...the militia is pretty full, last I heard." She chuckles. "I heard there's a huge red dragon that lives in the mountains to the east, if you care to try your luck."

"Red dragon?!" Tavi asks in disbelief. "I..uh...I'm not sure I'm really sure I'm ready to take on a red dragon just yet. I'm going to have to think of something though," she adds as she digs in her food as well. Really, at this point, table manners weren't something she was concerned about.
Re: FC1 - CH 1: Welcome to Sturnheim
After the meal, Mama collects their plates and glasses, and the money Tavi owes her. She then hands Tavi a key. "This is to Room 2," she says, "just down the hall there."
Rosamund returns at this point. "Your bath is ready," she says to Tavi. "Right this way."
=========
Tavi spends 6 gp, 8 sp, and 3 cp and acquires Room 2 key.

Re: FC1 - CH 1: Welcome to Sturnheim
Tavi hands the room key to Hallie. "Make yourself at home," she says. "Once I'm done with my bath, we can come up with some sort of plan. I hope."
Re: FC1 - CH 1: Welcome to Sturnheim
Taking the key, Hallie and Sparrow head to the room while Tavi follows Rosamund to a very small, private area with a copper tub that she has filled with water, likely from a well. Before she leaves to give Tavi privacy, Rosamund asks, "So...are you an adventurer? Did you come from a far away place? Somewhere more exciting than this rat-hole?"

Re: FC1 - CH 1: Welcome to Sturnheim
"Well, I guess you could say that I am," Tavi says. "I'm still kind of new at it though. I'm not from anywhere more exciting than this place. I'm from a ranch a couple of days away from here."
Re: FC1 - CH 1: Welcome to Sturnheim
"Oh," Rosamund says, disappointed. "Well, enjoy your bath." She walks off, leaving Tavi some privacy.
Tavi quickly finds out the bath water in question is tepid, at best, and quickly getting colder by the minute. This doesn't leave her with much time to enjoy the bath, just to clean herself as quickly as possible of all the dirt, grime, blood (both human and goblin) from her skin and hair.
When she steps out of the tub, finished, she notes the water is now so brown, it may as well be mud. Picking up a towel that was left behind for her, she dries off. Her clothes and armor are still a mess, but at least she herself is now clean.

(OOC: Does she put her armor back on after dressing? Or just carry it to her room?)

OOC: She'll carry it to her room.
Once done with the bath, she joins her sisters in their room. "Things aren't off to the best start, are they?" she asks.

Re: FC1 - CH 1: Welcome to Sturnheim
Knocking on the door, Hallie opens it for her, letting her in. The room is simple and clean, but only had two single beds. There's a small chest, a wardrobe, a desk and chair, and a couple of nightstands, too. The window's curtains have been opened, letting in sunlight. There is no view to speak of, though. Just the back alley behind the inn.
As Tavi sets her armor on one of the nightstands, Hallie takes a seat on one of the beds. "No, not really," she admits.
"Not so bad," Sparrow adds, looking out the window. "Could be worse."
"What do we do now, though?" asks Hallie, clasping her hands together.

(OOC: Studded leather armor is now considered 'stowed' in your room. Oh, likewise, the room key is 'stowed' with Hallie for now.)

Re: FC1 - CH 1: Welcome to Sturnheim
"Well, Sparrow can try her hands at the stable job," Tavi offers. "That will help out a little bit. I guess it is up to Hallie and me to sort of search out the town. There has to be something out there."
Re: FC1 - CH 1: Welcome to Sturnheim
"All right," Hallie says, standing up and smoothing out her dress. "I'll take Sparrow down to the stables and see if we can get her a job there. I guess you can just look around and see what you can find. We can meet back here for dinner at nightfall. In the meantime, how about a couple of coppers so we can take baths, too?"

Re: FC1 - CH 1: Welcome to Sturnheim
Tavi gives Hallie and Sparrow a couple of coppers so that they can clean up. "We only have so much money, so we have to be careful," she explains.
Once her sisters are off to do whatever it is they plan to do, Tavi sets off to explore the city. Outside of the inn, she to walk straight towards the stables and a few of the other buildings near by. She doesn't have a clue as to where she is going, but she is hoping to run into something.

Re: FC1 - CH 1: Welcome to Sturnheim
Tavi leaves her room and heads out. There are a number of new people in the common area of the inn, but she ignores them all and instead steps outside. There aren't many people out and about, as it's lunch time. She passes a dwarf with several pelts tied to a stick over his shoulder, who steps into the inn as she leaves.
Heading south, around the dried out fountain, she approaches the stable and the large building next to it. Valdar came from it, so it must be the militia headquarters, she reasons. It's a stone building and quite large. There's a metal plaque by the reinforced door, but Tavi cannot read it.

Re: FC1 - CH 1: Welcome to Sturnheim
Tavi looks over the militia headquarters for a moment before she walks around the building so that she can continue on with her original heading. "This place really has seen better days," she says softly.
