Riverwind backs away as well, lending a comforting grasp to Goldmoon's forearm.

"Good question, we obviously do not jump down and climb up"

"Can try to swim," Magpie says. "Some make it. Some get sucked in. Never see again," she says, shaking her head. "Safer to cross further down." She points south. "More bosses that way, though."

"Well, flesh and steel can deal with flesh and bone, but it will not help with swift water, I say we should continue south."

"Yes it would appear so, Tanis?." Laurana turns to the Half Elf, she had assumed the Dwarf had some magic way over, just like the last hurdle.

"Well I can't jump down there. And I am sure Raistlin can't either, and Flint does not want to. So we have no other choice than to continue south, I think. Even if there are enemies there." Goldmoon says, eying the precipice warily.

"We can do it." Tas declares with pride. "Swimming might be hard to do for you big folks."

"Tas No, I get your willing, I am sure we can try, but the others can't." Laurana grasps the Kenders shoulder lightly. "We need your help, when we are ready, walk ahead, quietly with Magpie. We need your eyes."

She looks at the rest of the group, smiling at Tanis with a grin. "Is that right Tanis?"

Tanis considers all of the angles. "Yes, swimming such a violent river would be too dangerous. Raistlin would never make it, and Flint's not much of a swimmer, either." He shakes his head. "Let's continue south. Better to be forced to fight those draconians than be swept away to who knows where."

Heading further south, they see that the shattered walls of the city bow darkly above the street. Mosses and fungus cling to the ruins, as if trying to drag the walls down. In the middle of the street the river runs north, but it is getting less violent here. A dim shaft of light overhead centers on a great plaza further south. To the east, one building seems to have held up most admirably. Dark growth obscures the lettering above its double doors.

"This is eerie seeing nature overtake all the stonework, especially underground."

Riverwind slows slightly subconsciously lightening his steps, elimination any sound emanating from his passage. Continuing south he notes the condition of a building on his right. He points.

"That one must be being maintained to some degree."

"Perhaps we should pause and scout ahead carefully before we walk into something we don't want to."

"Maintained by people, you mean? Or do you think that there's magic involved, or maybe even the work of the Gods?" Goldmoon rejoins her beloved, looking at the building, too.

(Is the doorway low enough for Laurana to jump and pull off the vegetation over the sign? If it is otherwise she'll ask one of the tall warriors to do so.)

"Nature is always ready to regain its hold. Or so my people say." the young elf mutters, "I will go ahead with Tas." she glares back, expecting Tanis to say something. "I will be fine."

Sturm says nothing, looking instead to the tower. "Perhaps this tower might provide suitable refuge."

"I can protect her." Tas puffs up slightly. He looks at Flint and shifts to duplicate his pose. "Like that."

Brushing away the vegetation, Laurana can see that the sign reads "Guardians of Justice."

Tanis frowns, looking down the street toward the plaza. "Be careful, stay out of sight, and if you do see anything, don't engage it," he says to Laurana and Tasslehoff.

"Guardians of Justice." Laurana announces, "That sounds, delightful." Tapping Tas on the shoulder she looks to the warriors to push the door open, before sliding in the entrance. "Watch Magpie." she adds before darting inside.

Moving along, Tas slides in close in order to avoid multiple shadows as they move.
