"I believe we have found our Madmans Laboratory" Jerrard utters quietly, sword at the ready. "I wonder?" He passes Elvenoff the torch and steps carefully over to the Parchments, shifting through them slowly.

"I believe it is possible that whoever made this is quite mad, thus unable to hold sensible thoughts in his head. We may find the world to open the cages in here, it would be easily accessible, as they would have no desire to search for such an item."

(Searching through the papers what does he see? He is looking particularly for a single word, its a long shot, but its the best I can think of right now.)

As he searches Jerrard looks over his shoulder, "I would suspect the Vats contain the ingredients to make more Podmen, we should destroy them somehow."

The worktable is covered in sheaves of parchment written in a strange, spidery hand. The language is goblin, and the alphabet is elvish.

Jerrard searches through the documents. The first document he finds is a large pile of vellum pages that discuss the research the madman has conducted upon snagworts, those sticky plants they encountered earlier. It describes that the command word, "Shothuar" will cause any of the snagworts to become passive and allow people to come near without attacking.

Placing the page in a pouch Jerrard continues his search, leaving Elvenoff to check the doors for any intruders.

Searching further, he finds a second document. This set of loose pages contains most of the details for the process of converting a human into a podman. The process requires powerful magic, far beyond Jerrard's level, but perhaps at his master's level. It may also be possible to use these notes to construct a plant podman from scratch, but that would be even more complex and require even stronger magic.

Jerrard once again places the papers in his pouch and tries one more time, he always knew it was a longshot, the information on Snagworts was useful if nothing else of use could be found.

"I have how to create the creatures here, it is powerful magic, far beyond me, this creature must be a master."

Searching again, Jerrard finds a third document. This stack of pages describes a mistaken experiment that created something called a 'funghemoth.' All it says is that "the unexpected result of the experiment has been forced into a large cavern, where it has, so far, remained peaceful. I can keep it back with its discipline stick, but it has become a very irritating obstacle."

Elvenoff nods his head in agreement, "Yeah, I think we should destroy everything we can." He replies as he moves toward the double doors. He stops before them and attempts to hear Listen check.. (1d20=11) . He turns and looks at jerrard. "We have to make sure those documents don't fall into the wrong hands, even after this is all over. For even the strong of heart can fall in the name of good intentions." He turns back to the door and slowly reaches for the handle.

Elvenoff cannot hear anything on the other side of the double doors. Testing the door knob, he finds they are unlocked.

"Interesting." Jerrard says as he places those papers in a pouch also, surveying the room one more time his attention is drawn to the pod. "Elvenoff, we need to destroy that thing." He turns facing the pod, sword drawn ready to strike once Elevenoff joins him.

(I assume it is just like every other pod, some inhuman pod monster inside?)

Examining the pod, Jerrard realizes it contains what appears to be a human being being converted into a podman. He looks to be about half converted into plant matter; not a pleasant sight.

Babushka attacks the giant centipede again.

1d20=10, 1d4=3, 1d20=9, 1d4=3

(The first strike would hit AC7, the second one AC 8 )
There's more to me than meets the eye...

Babushka strikes again, this time nearly severing the centipede in two. It twitches severely as it dies.

==================

Babushka attacks the Giant Centipede (10) for 3 damage. Giant Centipede dies.

End Combat.

(OOC: Locky remains paralyzed.)

Jerrard rubs his beard in a slow motion.

"This appears to be a half formed creature, still partly Human.. I wonder if we have found the one they called Ulster? It would be logical." He says this to himself, reaching for the pile of papers, he looks to see what it says about the growth cycle, if the 'host' retains any humanity in between the transformation.

"It may be that this abomination can aid us, a cure may be hidden here in these notes."

(Also do the notes detail what the vat things do? Or are, he is thinking of using some of the liquid to actually destroy the Podmen.)

Locky unable to move contemplates how she has never been this quiet before, or been this still before.

There was the time she nearly died, the ogre should have said was his drink... But this was altogether different,
and it was starting to get boring...

Elvenoff turns toward Jerrard upon hearing the statement from him. He slowly walks over to the pod where Jerrard was examining it. "It's Blasphemy. An atrocity against mankind that should and will be eradicated.” He pulls his sword and holds off from killing the creature when Jerrard moves away and begins to scan the parchment once more. “What are we waiting for, lets end this foulness now.” he turns and looks at Jerrard, “Well?”
