WotL OOC Thread II

This 2E Dragonlance game is set in the city of Haven, during the War of the Lance. Haven is a city undergoing great upheaval. First massive numbers of refugees pour in, then the city is conquered by a draconic army. Can our heroes survive under this dark occupation?

Yeah, Grubnick's just skiddish about revealing his healing to those working for the church like Tulbas. He only did it for Haahque b/c he was dying and we needed to get out of there. couldn't carry you and Gregeddin and fight two Histachii and the rogue all at once ;)

Sure, Horizon and I even went to see the movie in theaters when it was released in '05.

There's a Firefly tabletop game, too. Never played it, but I've heard others talk about it. They're making an MMORPG, as well, although it's been in development for years and years.

Inara's dress in that episode was more to my liking.

(OOC: I guess after this 'dramatic' breakdown Tulbas will lose any respect someone from the group might have still kept towards him, but his feelings had to come out at some stage I guess and what better time than revealing true and not evil god after years of only rumors and legends and receiving its help.)
Actually, seeing this would have made Arulia gain some respect for him. From their brief interaction, Arulia doesn't have too high an opinion of Tulbas (wanting to use the evil books!), and seeing him grieve for what he's been through would make him more relatable to her. But since she didn't see it, she'll maintain her low opinion for now...

Well, if you haven't already, check out Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Joss Whedon worked on it, too, before Firefly. It's also on Netflix. So is the spin-off, Angel.

Thought Buffy was fine but lost interest at robot-time.
Never saw Angel. Any good?

Yeah, I liked them both. Angel kind of took on its own flavor and theme after awhile, despite picking up several characters from Buffy (aside from Angel, of course, but also Cordelia and Wesley). It really grows into its own, although the whole 'Connor' arc gets a bit weird in the end. And while the last season had some interesting ideas, I felt like it was a little too...bleak. Oh, and the series ends on a cliffhanger, so there's that.

That's a pain,
I remember feeling gutted when they cancelled the Sarah Connor Chronicles after S2

If you want to watch Angel, I would suggest watching at least the first three seasons of Buffy first. That way you know what is going on in Angel. I'm a pretty big fan of both series.

There is Farscape, but I think that is more of an acquired taste.

There is also Stargate SG1, and Stargate Atlantis, but they are only on Hulu it seems.

SG1 was really great series.

Currently I watch Once upon a time. I think it is nice. Arrow is OKish. S.H.E.I.L.D. is good. Game of Thrones - very good acting.

Well, Tulbas wanted to use the knowledge in the books for the greater good (he is referring to himself as The greater... so, the greater good..). Using the greater resilience of the Yuan-Ti / Histachii to cure diseases. To research protection spells. So...
The books are not evil. The knowledge can be used for evil or for good. If he wasn't on the brink of death he might have argued a little bit more, but all he could think of is breathing fresh air again.

Haahqae doesn't exactly form low/high opinions of people. He more sorts them into stereotypes that he's read about. Tulbas's breakdown might have shifted Haaqae's impression of him a little from powerful magus stereotype to emotional child stereotype. If you want Haahqae to form a low impression of you, you pretty much got to find your way into the uneducated brute stereotype or the greedy tax collector stereotype or steal from him or something.

Re: Haahqae, Tulbas, Felran and Grubnick

While you all agreed to do something, nobody actually wrote they were doing it. You just had them say, in dialogue, they would go. I tend not to assume just because a character says something means they will do it. I thought you were reluctant to actually leave the room to avoid Shima. Because all you were doing was writing dialogue:

"We should go to the lair."
"Indeed, we should."
"Well, let us be off."
"Yes, quite so."
"Then we're all in agreement."
"So it would seem."

I seriously thought you all were just stalling for time until Shima left. It was only today that someone finally wrote, '[my character] walks downstairs' which is what I was waiting for.
