"Preferably somewhere private," Amon says. "Where the rude and uncouth cannot pester us," he adds, casting a glance toward Drake. "Hmm, perhaps on one of father's boats? We need not even lift the anchor, just hold the soiree on the boat's deck while moored. It will give the others a chance to get used to boats for when we take the trip over to Dunreese."

"Hmm," Echo says. "And I suppose that means we, or at least those of us that can, need to dress up a little for the occasion." She seems rather put out by the idea.

"I cannot get anything to fit." Brax grins, "So my unsuitable attire will have to do once more." She nudges Vee, "I like the idea Amon."

Searos glances around with a very amused look on his face. "Tell me Chills, is the prospect of having fun that terrifying to you? Or is it that the likes of those around the table, his Lordship excepted, is beneath you?"

He turns to Amon without waiting for Echo's answer "I'm good with using a boat. The rocking always makes a dice game that much more exciting."

At Brax's mention of clothes, Geraldine speaks up. "We do not have a professional seamstress in town, but I have a friend who makes clothes for those not skilled enough to do that themselves. Like me, I am far more skilled with a sword than with scissors and needles! We can go see her, if you want to" she offers.

"A boat party in the evening? That will be nice" Kim sounds actually pleased at the idea. "Tell me, Amon" Kim says, getting up and stretching, "could I borrow that almanac for the afternoon? Maybe it contains examples of signalling systems between ship and shore"

"Uh, sure," Amon says. He digs out the almanac from his pack and hands it to the half-elf.

"Who said the idea of having fun was terrifying to me?" Echo asks defensively.

"Thank you" Kim accepts the Almanac from Amon with a smile, and, after ordering a jug of diluted cider, retreats into a corner to starts reading.

"Celebrating is a good idea, and Maybowle, whatever it is, sounds very good. But I've got to warn you" Vee grinns "I'm going a little bit crazy with alcohol..."

"I've got no cloths except those which I'm wearing, can you show me the seamstresser?" she asks Geraldine

Gunter, uncomfortable with anything else on besides his leathers goes quiet when the talk of fancy attire begins until Amon mentions the idea of holding the party on a boat.

"That's a great idea Amon. Come to think of it I've never drank on a boat before..."

"Yes of course" Geraldine answers Vee. "Do you want to join us, Brax? If I remember well, Chiara just accepted a girl's dress back from a cousin of mine that might fit you with maybe a few amendments."

"Of course, I need some breeches and tops too. Something causal." she smiles and stands with Vee.

Having forgotten what he just said moments ago, Searos glances over at Echo. "Nobody said that... though your comment speaks volumes all its own."

Martin doing his best to eavesdrop between songs, switches to a bouncy, sprightly piece from the operetta "Tutto a Tutti" called "Fare Aquisti".

Once he has finished, he beckons Nezza to him: "Are you the proprietor of this establishment, or is the proprietor available? I am considering offering a performance this evening, one of music and mirth and wonders to delight and amaze, one guaranteed to draw an audience whose custom will no doubt fatten said proprietor's purse, perhaps considerably. I should like to discuss terms."

Geraldine, Vee and Brax head off to see Chiara the seamstress. When they explain what they need, she frowns.

"Breeches and tops? for you?" she asks Brax, "That's nothing I have in stock. If you need them quickly, you should see a family who has a fast-growing boy, they might be happy to sell you breeches and shirts that are hardly worn for a fair price. What I could offer to you is this." She brings out a simple green dress with sleeves, a sash and an underskirt in green-and-white calico. She holds it close to Brax. "I'll have to put in a wedge band to accomodate your bust, that will give it a nice stress without being indecent" she says with a wink.

"For you, things will be easy" she turns to Vee. "We're about the same size, I could give you one of my dresses. Choose what you like, this will give me a nice excuse to make a new one for myself" she laughs. The dresses she shows Vee are blue, black or green, with a tight bodice and a pleated skirt. Some have short sleeves, some long ones, and all have flattering but modest necklines.

Nezza looks at Martin and giggles. "No, I',m just the helper. Tel is the proprietor, he's in the kitchen right now. But you should wait for him to come out, he's in a foul mood until the kitchen and common room are tidied up again. Once he takes residence behind his counter, it is safe to talk to him."
