Kim sighs. "You're right, Searos. Nothing's new there. So, let's get up to our camp, shall we? Some of us are injured or at least wet. It's nicer to discuss things by a campfire than in the middle of a steep path, isn't it?."
Henry had retreated some steps after Brax admitted she had drow heritage, his face looking confused. But as they move on, he approaches Brax again and supports her where possible (the path here allows for single file only). After a few minutes, he asks hesitantly: "Excuse my intrusion, but I have always been taught that Drow are the most wicked of elves. Now I see you here in a group come to help our small town, and you risk your life for some creature you don't even know. How does that come?"

"I saw cruelty around me, my people murdered each other, because the politics changed." She shrugs painfully and watches the man closely. "I found Pelor, his light hurt my eyes, yet he offered me a choice, return to the shadows or step into the light." She bows. "I chose the light."

"You must be even braver than I thought when I saw you fighting" Henry tells Brax. He shudders. "And I should brave the fears my parents and teachers have instilled in me, and keep you company." In silence, he walks behind Brax.
Those who lost strength to the Sea Hag's power now feel fully normal again.

"That, I would like very much, I am only part monster, my father was human." She explains, allowing him to aid her. "My people are everything you have been taught, and more I am sure. Yet, some of us break the mould."

Searos listens to Brax's sob story for the umpteenth time and rolls his eyes before heading over to Gunther. "Here's the thing Muscles. We fell into that trap. We fell into it, knowing it was a trap. That... that creature on the rocks... she's in on it. I'll bet she is."

"I am sorry my story is boring you Master Searos. Yes we fell into a trap, some of us should have been wise enough to know, but we didn't." Feeling her strength return somewhat she lifts her head.
"I need to rest, at least overnight, if I am worthy Pelor will grant me healing once more."

Gunter eyes Searos, "You're too right, I'm afraid. I don't believe for a second now, nor did I before, that the triton was anything other than bait. It's a different version of a highwayman's 'broken wagon' routine. Yet, some of us walked into it anyway." He says this last part loudly.
"Another tough lesson learned, I suppose. How much longer are we going to continue to ride our luck though?"

Amon flinches at Gunther's words, but says nothing in his defense. The ranger was right, Amon had refused to listen and nearly got them all killed as a result.

Searos largely ignores Brax and just shakes his head. "Look, muscles, next time its a trap, lets maybe just hang back a bit and consider our options. We're practically destined to do this a few more times so lets try to be smarter about things."

"Yes, we should try to find out what our enemies are, their powers and weaknesses, and how they're organised" Kim agrees.

"Yes, that would be best." Brax agrees.

The group walks up to the camp in relative silence, it is not easy to talk while walking single file on the side of a cliff with surf. The tide is coming in strong now.
When they reach their camp, they find it undisturbed, the pack animals grazing peacefully. It is now late afternoon, they would not be able to break camp and reach Dunreese before nightfall.

Brax sits on the grass by the tent, pulling her cloak around her body. "Could someone get my equipment please?" She asks quietly.

Gunter goes about getting a fire started and roots through the food they brought with them.

Kim approaches the ranger once the fire is started. "Gunter, there is still equipment down at the junction. I think it is easier if the strong ones, Vee and you, go get it and the others prepare the food, not the other way round."
