Crawling to the edge, Pyros peers into the dark below to fund what appears to be a small area of level sand. A jagged section at the bottom seems to lead elsewhere

Any large rocks around? He will grab any that are bigger than his hand, and throw them down into the pit.
Laying on his belly ear over the edge, he will listen after the rocks hit bottom.

While they're paused waiting for the ok from Pyros, Jerry looks aound behind them.

Pyros finds a fist-sized rock and hucks it down into the sandy pit. It strikes with the familiar paff of stone on loose sand.

He stares a few extra seconds, to see if anything jumps out at the rock.
"Have a rope?" Pyros asks back to anyone behind him. His head still down the crack.

Remembering he has rope, he will stand up tie it around his waist and toss the other part to anyone behind him.
