"Not to mention we've found evidence of activity in this house recently. How is that possible if there is some spirit scaring everyone away?" Amon points out.

"Unless," he continues, "whoever has been in this house is powerful enough to control the spirit. If so, they're likely far more powerful than all of us put together."

[Jenara]

"As I said, it is just a feeling. It may not be the truth." She grins, smoothing her hair she casts a look at the trapdoor.

"We need answers, not guesses, perhaps we should go on..?" Unless... She lets that thought hang there.

[Breila]

"Searos, what were you expecting when you touched that tile? Does it seem to operate a mechanism?"Kim turns to the man. "I am sorry about what happened. There was no discernible magic in this room, I hope you believe me."

"what's that for a discussion? I thought you were strong adults! I will stay here until I've found enough treasure. I need the money. But if you want to go... Little one isn't scared of some ghosts!"

And with those words she opens the Trapdoor.

Searos turns to Kim.

"Well frankly, I thought the tile was going to open the trap door. And strange as this may sound, I believe you about the room being free of magic before I pushed the tile. If a mage can be wrong, and another mage can agree with something I said, perhaps the gods do have some sort of plan."

[Breila]

"I do not think the gods have anything to do with this, Searos" Kim answers. "It is important that people with different skills can work together. And the man who is not ready to admit he was wrong is a fool."

[Jenara]

A few seconds after Vee presses the tile, part of the floor opens, revealing what appears to be a set of wooden steps, disappearing into the darkness....

"Hold on, Miss Vee," Amon says. "If you insist on going down there, I will go with you. We'll need light, though." He pulls a torch out of his pack and lights it with some flint and steel.

"You might be sorely disappointed later on if there isn't a treasure," Echo says to Vee. "So are the rest of you coming?" she asks as she follows after Amon.

"I'll come last, and only if you have to move out of earshot. I don't like the idea of having our backs exposed, I'll keep a lookout here." Kim answers

Brax stays back as Vee, Amon and Echo walk down the stairs, unlike the rest of the house these appear to be of a new quite solid construction. The small group find themselves in a small room, illuminated with torches on the wall off to one side appears to be a cage or cell of some kind, looking inside lying face down on a filthy bunk there appears to be short humanoid dressed only in his undergarments.

Strewn over the floor on the right side of the room there appears to be numerous items. Clothing, a short sword, and a pack.

Searos sighs and follows after the mages and the girl.

"Ugh, I can't believe we're actually going deeper into this trap..."

Echo frown as she takes in the room. "I don't much like the look of this," she mutters. "People are living here."

The room appears to be am underground cell of some kind, looking closer the figure appears to be a halfing, he does not move.
