Well he is rather persistent! I am sure we'll give in at some point, just playing with him..!

He needs to endear himself to us a little better.

Liri was friendly enough with Eldon... she hoped to get him into talking.

[OOC]In case the point didn't come across, the silver on the table was left there by Scoot, on his way out, to pay for his tab, and there appears to be sufficient there to pay for your meals as well. Although there is nobody to stop you from pocketing it, it would be missed when the time comes to settle up.

And who (apart from Eldon) mentioned anyone hovering around? Or is this a subtle ploy by Eldon to makd the ladies feel vulnerable?

And for that matter, who was Eldon talking about when he said: "Look the torch slipped, it was an accident, how was i to know he was clumsy?" and "He seems to fight ok with one hand." ? Coil just doesn't want torches juggled in his (wooden) bar room. :) [/OOC]

I believe that was a little improv from Jerrard!

(The comment about the torches.)

And yes, who was he talking about hovering around them indeed?

1) the idea was to pocket the money just long enough to pay for the tab once the bartender comes around, just to protect it from being taken. Sorry if that didn't come across.

2) Liri had indeed not noticed anyone hovering around, that's why she asks Eldon what he is talking about.

And Thanks Breila.

@ Breila - That's where my confusion came from. Around here, when you say "pocket" something, it means to steal it. It's kind of like another colloquialism we have here: "The five-finger discount". :)

Hey Stik.

I've got exams coming up here in China. I might be MIA for a while (a week or two).

I've also got another problem. My VPN subscription is about to end (it runs out in early June), and without it, I can't access this site. I'm not sure when I'll get money into my American bank account to renew the VPN. Thought I'd warn you.

Regardless of how long I disappear for, keep my seat warm. I should be back in July at the latest.

Okay, Tempest is incommunicado for a bit (I'm not sure where Communicado is. I think maybe it's somewhere near Beijing. But I digress).
Party is in Paulding Depot, an old imperial garrison town. Tomorrow is the funeral service for your late companion. You have about thirty hours to fill between now and then.

So, what do you plan to do in town?

I don't have time to post right now, but I will skip ahead of the thread a bit and say that Fraso must move on after the funeral is over. At the moment your group is without transportation, except for a few horses.

Drop me a PM or post here and give me a hint as to what you might want to do, so that I can plan accordingly. A new chapter/thread will start on the morning after the funeral.
