The Broken Wheel: (Cross, Iscind, Karl, Elsa)
Hmm? Ah, Pyros and Gregor were off together to do some investigating. I think they went off to the Old Kartakan. Just as he finishes, Elsa returns from outside and sits; obviously deep in thought.
The Old Kartakann Inn: (Gregor, Pyros, Mira)
The two patrons seem only concerned with their drinks and neither reacts to the bard's appearance. When Pyros pipes up to the bartender, the man replies in Elven. You mean Haldrake? He works later tonight. I'm Ledalar, you need something?

"Yes, we were sharing some facts, and swapping stories. He said he wanted to know more. So here I am."
Pyros will try his best to be convincing.
"Any chance you can point me in his direction."
He will also casually look at Mira.
"My friends and I want to swap some more stories wit him."
He wants to be incredibly slick, but it probably comes across like a 5 y/o winking at his own joke.

Ledalar shrugs. He's probably sleeping. He keeps pretty late hours tending the bar. The man pauses, assessing the trio. What kind of stories?

Can I get an ale if ya don't mind?, Gregor interjects when the barkeep finishes his question. Feelin' a bit parched. (Have the man suggest one if there are several available) After thanking the barman, he'll step back to let Pyro continue his conversation. As he samples the ale, he'll evaluate the beverage to the best of his abilities. Gregor fancies himself a beer & ale connoisseur but being barely 21 his skill in the area is limited. He can usually discern between an ale and a lager and recognize poor quality but that is about it.

"Pyros. Perhaps we should leave Ledalar to his work and come back later." Mira explains, "Forgive him, he's young and full of energy. You know how children are with Stories. My friend would like an Ale, and I'll have some wine " she points to Gregor.
"Come, let's find a table." She nods her head to Ledalar, "Sorry to Trouble you."

No problem. he says in Elven (I think all three of them speak Elven so no need for translationa). Ledalar provides them with the ale and wine. The ale is smooth and gentle on the pallete with a hint of nuttiness at the end. Mira's wine is a Meekulbrau standard in the region, deep and robust with a slightly bitter finish. We all appreciate a good tale. It's pretty slow right now, so if you've got one worth telling, let's hear it. he grins.
They easily find a table (do they want one of the alcoves with the curtains or just an open table?)

The Bottomless Pail: (Delsenora and Esker)
The pair follow the madman through the door to find the interior somewhat cramped. The rough wood floor carries many stains while the mismatched and warped planks threaten to catch the unwary boot. Simple but servicable wooden furniture fill the place, and a small hearth with low embers does little against the chill of the morning. Several rough looking folk of various ages loiter about the commons, and make no secret of tracking the newcomer's progress.
The vagrant shuffles his way to the long wooden bar and the man behind it. Dark hair and violet eyes regard the newcomers immediately with obvious appraisal. Producing the odd copper coin the beggar spins it on the bar, palms eagerly rubbing together. The bartender, a man of middle years with a few extra pounds but the look of muscle beneath, doesn't bother looking at the coin. Instead his hand slaps down on it as he finishes his assessment of the pair. Only then does he lift his hand, saying something in Harmonian. He pours a short beer for the madman and slides it over, ignoring the small spill as he does so; as if it could lie there unnoticed until doomsday.
The older man cups the mug in both hands, practically giggling as he sips and savors the cheap brew.
What's yer repository? the bartender finally asks Del in 'cant' spoken in Elvish.
["What is your goal/ what do you want?"]
Del is ready with an answer as she has had time to think about it.
"My Repository, as it were, is to make enough Plate to find my way back to my Crib.
She smiles, appearing sure of herself, but not cocky.
Continuing in Elvish
"I'm also following protocol in presenting myself to you, who I suppose is the person I need to speaking
with. Especially if I want to operate here, this is the right thing to do. I am readily available for any type of skulldiggery but am not a killer
and will not do that for anyone. No job is too big or small and I take my work very seriously. Might I have a word in private as I would
like to gain your trust but do not wish to advertise what I have to show you. I promise this is no ruse but an honest show of trust towards you."

Does Pyros think his clothes are of good taste if not overly fanciful? Is he clean shaven?
=================================================================================
"Have I got a whopper for you!"
He will go into great detail, and exaggeration about his gambling and wagering, with the goblins the night of his mist-takings.

Esker Manyblades
Esker, not understanding anything that is said, nonetheless tries to appear as if he is closely following the conversation. Standing slightly behind the wily thief, he focuses his face and demeanor as appearing a complex combination of disinterest and menace, depending upon how the shadows fall.

Karl moves himself so he is next to Elsa, talking an quiet voice he asks "I fear something is troubling you, and I do not like to see anyone troubled, especially rather lovely ones such as yourself."

The Old Kartakann Inn: (Gregor, Pyros, Mira)
Ledalar is indeed clean shaven and well put together. It seems likely the room with the note about feeding bushes was his. Ledalar listens to the Pyros' tale of gamblings and mist-travel, seeming to enjoy it well enough. When it comes to the part about passing through the mists a small smirk appears but he nods. Not bad, little one. he slides Pyros a cider. You know any other good ones? Maybe something a little more hair raising? I like a little thrill.
Mira claims the corner alcove with heavy curtains as Pyros converses with the bartender
The Broken Wheel: (Cross, Iscind, Karl, Elsa)
Elsa shakes her head a little. Well... not super excited about that recent murder being right outside our inn... Is it even safe to stay here tonight? And when that kid saw Jerry he acted like he'd seen a ghost. The halfling cleric pauses in thought, Come to think of it, Jerry seemed pretty shaken up too. For sure it was a horrible thing, but it really doesn't seem like her to get upset over blood... maybe it's just because it happened right outside, but I think there must be more to it than that.
The Bottomless Pail: (Delsenora and Esker)
The bartender shrugs, Back to your crib... and how far is that? You have a number in mind? When she mentions he is the one to talk to, he shrugs in an overtly casual manner.
When she goes on about what sort of activity she is and isn't willing to engage in he frowns and glances at the others in the tavern. Even if no long pork is about, some things best not in the open. Even if not many people speak Elven. [long-pork = cops]
The few people in the place at the moment seem to be curiously watching the pair of newcomers.
[Let's get a Wis and a Cha check for Del, please ^_^ ]

As Pyros finishes his story he realizes Mira has claimed a booth. He will look over, then at the bartender.
"Uh, I'll be right back!"
He will scoot over to the booth. His face will look like the cat who caught the mouse, and swallowed it.
Once securely in the booth, he will attempt to keep his voice to a whisper.
"HE is likely the one who had the note about feeding the bushes. His fancy clothes give him away."
You will see sheer force of will holding him back from directly pointing at the bartender.

[Ooc] Del realizes that she hasn't seen any locals that aren't human. While those they met in the inn seemed surprised but accepting of her 'secret', it is likely the locals would react very differently.
In fact, they don't evwn seem to realize Elsa and Pyros are halflings, thinking them youngsters.[/ooc]
The bartender frowns, Alone... for a strange secret.... No thanks. I think we're good for now. I'll have a chat with some others. We'll see what they think. If there is agreement to give you a shot, there will probably be some kind of... test-job.
