Re: OOC Chat II
Jerrard isn't really good for much right now
Re: OOC Chat II
Breila, you can roll 1d10 for Babushka's new HP total.
Here are my thoughts on the session.
The cleansing/funeral rites for the elves was my way of entering a little miracle in the game. Especially in Dragonlance, faith is important, so I try and keep the gods from being too aloof. I also figured the party is getting to that level where their acts are actually being noticed by the gods. I suppose Paladine's influence here also wound up serving as foreshadowing to Habbakuk's more direct intervention later on in the chapter.
The wyndlass was just a random encounter I rolled. Although I was going to let Babushka die, I decided to have Dara show up and save her because I wanted her to instantly gain the party's trust, and I knew that would work easily. If you look back, there were other ways of getting their trust, too. She was very generous with compliments, especially toward Locky. Ever notice how the party will often gauge how trustworthy someone is by how nice they are to her?
The whole thing worked better than I thought. I kept trying to think up a plausible lie as to why Malika's tracks led west if Dara claimed she was in the south--but nobody even thought to ask, they were so endeared by her. Only Fikod was suspicious from the start, but too new to the group to sway them from their course.
The battle with the ogres was a planned encounter. I was impressed by how easily the party beat them, and with a minimal of wounds. Dara's bloodthirstiness in this battle was another hint there was something amiss about her.
And then comes the final battle--where neither Dara nor the undead elves are the real threat, but Locky is. She evades Jerrard's web spell, proves nigh impossible to hit thanks to her high AC, and utilizes one of the potions the party found (but can never seem to remember they have) to kill two PCs and knock out two others, while severely crippling the henchmen in the process.
I didn't use any of her spells she had remaining, because I figured they wouldn't work as Paladine wouldn't grant them to her in her possessed, evil state. But she still proved to be quite the threat, bringing the party to their knees easily. Let it be known, Locky would make for a great villian. Maybe Takhisis will try recruiting her, after seeing her potential. :3
In the scene where Locky pretended to be unpossessed again, I suspected that the fact that I was still playing her would give it away that she was faking. I thought about making separate posts for Locky, then changing them over to Jenara's account, so it appeared that Jenara made them. What do you all think--would that have been more effective?
Both Locky and Dara had increased HP while possessed; good thing, too. Imani came painfully close to killing Dara. Listen, Horizon, if your intent is to knock someone out, then doing 1 non-lethal attack out of every three isn't going to work. Imani was dealing so much damage to Dara each round, that even taking into account the non-lethal damage, she still would have hit -10 HP easily at that rate.
I don't have much to say about Babushka's resurrection that I haven't already covered before.
So out of the three kirath, who is your personal favorite? Aleaha? Larenth? Dara?
Anyway, next up is the final chapter of Tree Lords. It also features the biggest, most dangerous battle I've ever set up against my players in any game, ever. So good luck with that!
I'll get the new chapter up tomorrow, after work.

Re: OOC Chat II
The Kirath we run into don't seem to have that good of a time, haha ^^
Re: OOC Chat II
Die roll for new HP: 1d10=4
The dice seem to want to keep her a glass cannon - sigh - all rolls were below average. 23 HP is laughable for a 6th level fighter.
Religion will of course be the next NWP. I'll decide on the WP later on, when she has the chance to purchase get trained on a weapon in-game.
As for the kirath, I liked Aleaha. We don't yet know the real Dara, so what can we say about her?
For the next encounter, I hope we all will keep our wits about ourselves and find good tactics. Otherwise Babushka's resurrection will be short-lived!

Re: OOC Chat II
I'm going to go ahead and add Religion to Babushka's proficiencies now. We can say that Habbakuk filled her head with everything she needed to know before sending her back, that way she meets all of the requirements for her kit now.
Dara's personality under the Unnameable's possession is pretty much her real one. In the same way that Locky acted like Locky when the Unnameable was trying to fool the party. So she's flighty, a free-spirit...well, not so much now, I suppose, after the trauma of being possessed.

Re: OOC Chat II
Any pack animals for sale at this trading post? It'll take ages to make the trip with a moderately encumbered dwarf in the group!
Re: OOC Chat II
Oh, sure...more pack animals! You'll just probably just lose them, too.
Okay, I suppose there might be a donkey on sale for about 25 steel pieces (that includes a pair of small saddle bags, bit and bridle, and a pack saddle).

Re: OOC Chat II
Fikod will purchase one and put everything but his weapons and poisons on it. He'll name it Greycap too, after his favorite variety of underground fungus.
Re: OOC Chat II
Slight issue with rations, neither jerrard or locky really have the money.. would it be possible to sell lockys pearl for cash?

Done and done. Fikod is no longer in encumbrance.NoTrammeling wrote:Fikod will purchase one and put everything but his weapons and poisons on it. He'll name it Greycap too, after his favorite variety of underground fungus.
Sure, that can be done.Jenara wrote:Slight issue with rations, neither jerrard or locky really have the money.. would it be possible to sell lockys pearl for cash?
Re: OOC Chat II
I hope Fikod will tell them the name of his donkey, that'd make for nice roleplay with Babushka.

OK OK! I can take a hint ^^ Is Babushka in the inn? It's about time she was invited to this drinking party. And Locky too I suppose though seeing a drunken kender... ;3
Re: OOC Chat II
Can kender get drunk?
And I'm told that Jerrard has an extensive collection of molds, spools and fungi...
