Vee finds the going more difficult than expected, because the tide has risen noticeably and the water over the rocks has become deeper. She is lucky in one thing, however, since the two sea cats do not seem to be interested in pursuing her. The rest of the group can see that the two are rubbing their heads together and Troll licks the blood that has been running from Trall's face away in a loving gesture before the two swim off. So Vee arrives safely at the beach, but she too is bleeding quite badly, though not in immediate danger.

What is the group planning to do next? It is still mid-afternoon, the tide is beginning to come in. The place where they are now will be submerged in an hour at the latest.

"I have to rest." Brax mutters, pulling herself up, painfully she looks to the path behind them. "We can't leave her, or all of this will be for nothing."

"Or maybe the triton is chained up for a reason. Is it a smart idea to always free every prisoner we find?"

Kim ponders Gunter's remark. "Does anyone here know anything about tritons? Amon? Echo? You grew up near the sea, was raised far inland and know little about the sea's creatures."

Amon stares out at the sea for several moments in a daze. It takes a few seconds for him to realize he's being addressed and snap out of it.

"Hmm? What? Oh, not much, really," he admits. "This...this is all my fault. You all warned me this was a trap, but...I was so determined to prove myself a hero, I refused to listen. And as a result, we were all almost killed. I...I'm sorry. Perhaps I'm not cut out for the life of an adventurer..."

Shaking his head, he says, "I think we should go back to town. We found Henry, at least. We can take him home, rest and heal, and try again tomorrow."

"Amon." Brax manages to reach her feet. "You were not alone, do not place this blame on yourself." Glancing at the Triton she adds. "Perhaps we need a small boat? One we could carry here, to rescue her. I agree with Amon, I need to rest.. I can barely stand."

"We do not need to return to town, we have a nice camp set up on top of the cliff" Kim reminds the group. "Let us carry everything above the high water line, then help the weak and injured to camp and get their gear afterwards. Amon, you seem to be skilled in dressing wounds, let's patch Vee up before we go."

"That will suit me." Brax agrees, wondering how she will cope with the walk.

"Aye, Mage Kim speaks true. Why walk all the way back to town when we have a camp right here? With a view to boot."

"Yeah, I agree. We are all wet and the promissing to a long way doesen't seems so nice to me now."

If nobody has a bandage Vee will use her skirt...

Moving towards her discarded clothes Brax finds her bandages and does her best to bind Vee's wounds.

When the party reaches the fork where the path above the high water line joins theirs to go up the cliff again, they find a rather exited Henry waiting for them (after this point, the path becomes so narrow again that they have to walk single file).

"What a fight!" he exclaims. "You were really brave, Amon, and you, ladies, are certainly better fighters than I could be! Others were not such good fighter either. Look what I've found near the high water line!"

He shows them a boot, a hat that probably was showy before it got wet and torn, if the wide rim and remnant of a feathery decoration are anthing to go by, and a belt buckle with some belt still attached to it, the leather of which seems to be chewed off.

"I bet there will be more if you look more closely" Henry says in a more sombre tone.

Those of the group that were affected by the Sea Hag's horrific appearance now feel their strength return slowly. This doesn't help Brax much, who continues to struggle.

Brax says nothing, but walks on painfully.

Searos pulls himself up with no small amount of effort and trudges after the party keeping his thoughts to himself.

Gunter lends an arm to Searos and helps him to his feet. When the thief is standing, Gunter claps some dust off his shoulders and mutters, "Well, I guess we can't win them all." He picks up the tattered hat and inspects it before tossing it to Searos. "This looks perfect for a man of your wealth and taste, what do you think?"
