Gunter thinks on Searos' words for a second, "Well, I've got nothing to do today, I'm guessing you don't either. How about we go and have another chat with your sailor friend about this lantern business. If he knows something, great. If not, maybe he'll want to throw some dice and you can win a ship. I've always wanted to try my hand at sail--"
He cuts himself off as he hears Amon's words towards the seemingly everpresent Drake.
"Well, it would seem that the mageling is growing a pair! Here here!" he raises his mug in a salute towards Amon.

Vee likes to see Drake beeing told off, she was less successful trying it...
Hearing Gunters comment she asks: "him grows a pair of what? Is that a kind of saying in your strange language?"

Gunter stifles a laugh and considers his words.
"It's a figure of speech little one...something we say when someone has shown that they have newly found courage and strength like our friend Amon here."

Amon blushes at Gunther's praise, feeling a bit ashamed for it. The idea of being praised for such an outburst seems wrong to him. But this Drake fellow was incredibly rude, pushy, and annoying. Even Amon's patience has limits, it seems.

Martin doffs his hat and bows, saying: "I cry your pardon, sirrah, should you find my manners less deferential than you are used to. It is the curse of my profession, to bear the burden of telling men hard the hard truths that they avoid coming to on their own.
"As to why I am here, well, I must be somewhere, and this place is as good as any. I have no desire to be a part of your group - for I would never wish to belong to any group that would accept me as a member. I merely seek diversion, and this mystery of yours intrigues me.
"But I shall make you an offer: if I solve the mystery, and bring your villains to their knees, you may all share in the credit. Fair enough?"

"It appears to me that you are offering the obvious, sharing the credit" Kim remarks coldly.

"Why would we share the Credit? Who says we are even going to let you come along?" Brax stays impassive, her expression not changing, "Amon said it well, you don't belong here." She turns her back on him a moment. "If we are staying, I shall visit the temple, I need to pray."

Searos munches on some bread and blithely motions with it. "I don't know. He could be useful to have around. There's always room for another meat shield, and we could always just have him enter every room first. Plus, he seems to bother other people which seems to make them forget that I'm bothering them. There's gold in a proposition like that."

Beset on all sides, Martin begins rapid-firing responses:
To Brax, speaking very carefully and slowly (complete with very broad hand gestures in support), as if to a child or to a person with a questionable grasp of the language: "
Me solve mystery, me share credit with you," then in a normal conversational tone: "
You solve it on your own, I'll congratulate you and buy you all a round of drinks. I see no reason you shouldn't be completely successful without my assistance - word on the street is you've done very well so far. I look forward to the tale of your next triumphant...rescue...with great anticipation."
At Searos: "
Have I not already shown a willingness to do the things that others are too faint-hearted to do? It seems like just yesterday a bunch of hardy adventurers were standing around staring at a garden shed as if it were the lair of the Legendary Black Beast itself. Good thing it wasn't a gazebo, or there might have been some real trouble."
At Kim: "
And you, sir," Martin barks, but suddenly runs out of steam. "
Ummmm. yeah. Nice day, isn't it?"

"You seem to be completely ignoring the fact that we never invited you on our little quest because you are too busy trying to show us how fantastic and piquant you are," Echo finally says to Martin.

Martin leans toward Searos and whispers: "She called me 'piquant'. It's working."

Leaning back, folding arms over the chest, Kim answers Martin: "Indeed, it promises to become a very entertaining day", then accepts the stew Tel brings and salutes Martin with the spoon before tucking in.
The rest of the group are brought the lunch they ordered, too.

Searos motions Martin closer with his mighty piece of bread. "I"m beginning to think the Drake might warm up that great glacier we all know as Chills."

Vee sights "And I hoped naively that I haven't to see you another time!" she says to drake but there is a little smile on her face.

Saying nothing Brax stands, walking out of the inn.
