Liri raises an eyebrow. "Me, no ties to you? Hah! But ties or no ties, I will come with you, because I have been sent by my people to resolve the matter of the vile creatures - true or false undead - that have appeared in the area. And it's far too dangerous to do that alone."

Angel gives Liri a look to say "I'm glad" and nods.

"Then we are set. I doubt Master Fraso will desire my company after this anyway." She tries to laugh that off, but the mistake would haunt her for years.

The food is typical legion fare, but with rise instead of spelt, and less meat than usual, and served at plank tables in the courtyard.

Tanulan, surprisingly, sits with his men, conversing easily and even laughing here and there as he slowly works his way through a half-filled plate and barely touches his drink. The legionnaires are loud, and more than occasionally coarse in their conversations, and Tanulan for the most part keeps up with them, although without raising his voice.

Notably absent at the meal are Fraso, Hiric and Salia.

After a time Lucius approaches the group and sits down at their table without asking. He has part of a bread loaf and some cheese in one hand, and a horn cup of beer in the other. "The primus would speak with you in private. He appreciates your day has been long, and so will make himself available first thing in the morning, should wish to retire early."
Lucius' voice drops as he leans in: "My own suggestion: should you choose to attend him in the morning, keep to yourselves until then."

"I'm not too tired to talk to the Primus" Liri declares. Looking over to Tanulan socialising, she adds: "In fact, I would like to know him better. And he seems in the mood now."

"I agree, I would rather discuss such matters as soon as possible, and there is much to discuss..." Angel comments, agreeing with Liri.

'Didn't you learn already that he doesn't like in-obedience?' Galanis thinks to himself, but wouldn't say it aloud near Lucius.

"I will inform the primus of your intentions," says Lucius. After a pause, he says: "Did you really see a corpse get up from its slab and kill a wizard?"

"I believe that Story has been somewhat warped. We brought a corpse with us, the body was taken.. and yes sadly our wizard Daos was killed. But not by the corpse." Angel replies, keeping as non committal as she can.

"Thank you. Do you know where Master Fraso and his servants are?" She adds quietly.

"They are here in the villa," Lucius replies. Then he rises and says: "I will speak with the primus." Then he makes his way to Tanulan's table and leans in to speak with him.
Tanulan looks over at the mercenaries and gives a nod, but does not leave his table until he has finished his meal and several conversations with his men.
Eventually, he rises, bids farewell to his tablemates, and returns to his tent, sending Lucius to collect the group.

As they enter, he says without preamble: "You have been to the temple. Now you know what Haro is capable of."

"Yes." Angel replies With no preamble herself, "I thought such practices were no longer used, it appears I was wrong." She speaks with a hint of sadness in her voice, "His behaviour is frankly futile and pointless, the only way this will be resolved is if you find Quintus, and discover if he is responsible for raising the army that attacks you."

"We have discussed this, and feel if Master Fraso is no longer in need of our services, we would be willing to locate him, with a few provisions of course." She speaks carefully, glancing back at the group a number of times.

"Ave!" says Tanulan. "Ave. From the moment we met I was certain I knew what you were. It is gratifying to know that I was correct.
"It was your war name that gave you away, of course. Names are powerful things, especially those we choose for ourselves. Angel; and what does an angel do - I mean, apart from praising the gods with its hands drenched in blood, if you listen the stories? They save people.
"Now, I was going to set a task before you, compel you if I had to. But here you are, offering to do it on your own. Clearly this is the work of the Three Sisters."

"It's the work of someone who has seen much suffering, and has been treated poorly for doing so. I have conditions, beyond that of meer pay you understand? The treatment of the people stops, unless there is no other way. We will be provided food and lodging, away from Legion, and Master Fraso will be escorted safely to his destination." She gives her requests calmly without a trace of concern for who she is talking to.

"This Angel protects the innocent from unwarranted harm, and that is what I plan to do." She actually smiles, her face loosing sone of the grim expression she usual carries.. "My Lord."

"I like you. Apparently the proverb about 'where angels fear to tread' does not apply here.
"I suppose these demands are the price of you volunteering to do what I would otherwise have compelled you to do? But they are not unreasonable. Done.
"And Fraso is no longer your problem. I was in fact rerouted from another task so as to collect him and bring him to the capital. Now he is my problem.
"But I do have another problem. At this point, you and everyone else in this pathetic little village are essentially prisoners. How do we keep you from running off as soon as you get outside the gate?"

Liri steps in, her brows furrowed. "Prisoners of whom?" she asks.
