Pyros will plop himself down beside Cross, and pull out his puzzle, and give it a try.
Puzzle 2 Try 2
Puzzle Try: [1d20] = 9
He will let out an audible Sigh

Cal smacks Cross upside the head. "Be careful about using magic. Not everyone understands it."

Elsa gives the bard a sympathetic look, Boys. I'll go try to keep them out of trouble while you do damage control... With that she heads outside. Mira quietly approaches the door, speaking softly. She can hear movement within after a time. Eventually Marie's broken, quavering voice drifts through, Interesting company you keep, lady bard... I... I always knew the wandering folk had dealings with... the unusual. I... quiet sobs escape the door, I can't... her voice laden with emotion. I can't... Marie takes a deep, ragged breath. I'm sorry... I'll continue my work for you, but... your 'friends'... I... I just can't handle that...
Cal, Cross, Elsa and Pyros: Outside the Blue Bolt
At first, people on the street don't seem too interested in the apparent adult and two children waiting outside the shop... that is, until one catches a glimpse of the toothy face on Cross' cap. Cal asmonishes him, while Pyros works on his iron puzzle. Gradually the flow of people nearby thins out, but soon there is an obvious space between them and the shop. Not far away a patrol of guards watches the trio. A moment later Elsa comes outside, marking the unusual traffic almost immediately. With a heavy sigh, she sits by the boys. Guys... Mira is trying to help us. I know we're all used to magic and stuff, but these people are really skittish about it... I know it's different, but she seems to understand these people... maybe we should just follower her lead. If we're ever all going to get back home we have to stick together... Can I count on you?

"I understand.." Mira responds softly, "I truly do, this is a strange experience for me too.. I'm used to strange.. But this.."
Please, just remember I hope I'm your friend.. I value your skill, and I think you are a good person." Keeping her position by the door she forces a smile, hoping Marie could hear it in her voice, even of she couldn't see it.
"Come tonight, there will be a drink waiting for you both. And when I come back, I'll do so alone. I've put out the board to say you are closed.. When you are ready.." With a sigh she moves back a few steps, leaving a single silver on the counter she leaves through the doorway.
Stepping outside she glares at the group, her eyes dark.
"Listen. We do NOT discharge magic in front of these people! The only way we are going to survive in this place is if we fit in. Cross have you ever heard of the Age of Despair? Of witch hangings...? These people feel like they actually might do that." Barely focusing on Cross she walks away muttering to herself.

No further conversation emerges from beyond the door. Eventually Mira heads outside to the others. Once she has delivered her admonitions, she begins to head away, only to realize the thin crowd is giving the party a wide berth...
[Ooc: which way is Mira heading?]

Once Pyros sees Mira leave the shop and walk away, he will start to follow her like a lost puppy.

befor she can full turn cross stands up “Lady bard you are right I did act foolishly and I do apologies. I did not mean to frighten the lass, but you must understand… when I was younger I was slave in a thief’s guild. one that forbade magic, something I longed for. I tried to hid my interest but was discovered. I would have been killed but a simple spell saved my life and I stole the only thing I have ever stolen, not for the guild but from it. I stole there prized possession” a quick look down at gar on his belt then his gaze snapped back up to her “I then spent the next 80 years on my own running from that guild with magic my only steadfast companion. imagine if you came to this land and instead of revering song and music they feared it? How hard would it be to stifle the song in your heart? Magic is in mine and I have a hard time not manifesting it in some way. You have found a place to fit here and I’m happy for you. some of us are fish out of water and don’t find it easy to be here” a glance at the little folk around him. “ I do apologize for scaring the girl. if you think I shouldn’t use magic at all while I’m here I will do as you say but… I hope we soon leave this place. It is far darker and foreboding than I thought.” With that he banishes his spell the cape and hat becoming inert. with that he goes silent feeling the ghosts of his pas keenly and a newfound sense of oppression around him in the city

"You think magic isn't part of my life?" Throwing her hands in the air she heads to the Silver Scale as they had agreed, walking with a slow pace clenching her fists as she walks.
"Sorry Pyros. I didn't mean to storm off... no actually I did. Can you see the people? The way they avoid us... Harmonia is a nice place if you fit in. Or you provide some entertainment." She comments as the Kender catches up.

Elsa pats Cross comfortingly on the back as they follow, I had no idea it was so deep in your soul... we'll find ways to help keep it from overwhelming you... our trip to Skald... maybe we can do some stuff on the road, yeah? I know it must be difficult, but hopefully it won't be for very long. The party follows the bard to the shop. Inside those who have not been here before do a double-take. Merrick stands on one side of the counter, speaking quietly with what, at first at least, appears to be a mirror image of himself! After a closer look, small differences can be seen. The shopkeeper's hair is much longee, falling to his waist in a ponytail. There are a few more lines on his face, but otherwise the resemblance is quite striking. Greetings, my lady Bard, he says in Elven with a bow before turning to the newcomers. Welcome to my shop, my name is Serath. How may I help you?

On the way to the Scale, or as they approach:
"That is the story of my life Red Lady, that is why we Kender have learned to blend into the background so well."

"On that we agree.. I've spent years playing the lowest clubs, fighting for scraps because the known people get the good gigs.. You learn fit in, to do what you need to.. Much like being a Kender I suppose." Sighing she pausing by the door.. Later she would have to talk to Cross, find his story. "Pyros, these are good people, I'd appreciate it if... Could you try to keep things on the shelves?"
"Serath." Mira forces a smile and offers her hand as she enters the shop. "My friends have yet to see your shop. Pyros, Elsa, Cross.. I'm sure Merrick has told you all about them." Approaching Merrick she gives him a soft hug.
"Merrick could you come with us to Toads in a while? I have a book I'd appreciate your help understanding..." She explains in a low voice.

Artanis
OOC: Assuming that Artanis and Yasir are still at John's shop.
Artanis has finished his small talk with John and gives the large man a pat on the back, says his goodbyes and steps out of the shop proper. The ranger is looking for an area where he can freely practice using his new sword - to get used to the different balance, weight and length of the new blade. The ranger figures that since Yasir has his new sword now, he will probably want to go celebrate by getting drunk...again. While the ranger enjoys listening to the large man's tales, he does think that the fighter has a very serious drinking problem.
Artanis will be looking for a place to practice, as he prefers not to go "shopping" any longer.
