Re: CH. 2: Bear in Mine
Gregeddin finally looks and and scans the room, seeing the dwarf lie motionless he feels he can be more useful helping than fighting. He moves back around Trench to where Darga is lying, lobs (attack throw like before) his torch at the now greased Sekla, (and if he can this round, will stabilise Darga, but I think that torch throwing is an attack so he will have to do that next round).
OOC, I've only got mobile at the moment, Jaded I know it's extra work but could you do the rolling for me please so as not to keep the others waiting until Monday. Sorry and Thanks

Re: CH. 2: Bear in Mine
(Here are the rolls for my post above)
Initiative, attack roll, damage if needed (1d10+1=2, 1d20=9, 1d4=2)
EDIT: The torch attack roll should be 6,
I forgot to include the -3 penalty for not having a weapon proficiency with a rogue.

Re: CH. 2: Bear in Mine
"I fight for myself, not for your dark queen!" Coroccoco responds, and she then moves around the nearest demon to get behind it, and attacks. But again, her punches and kicks seem useless against the demon. "Damnation, their hides are tough!" she remarks.
Gregeddin moves down toward the unconscious Darga, carefully steering clear of the demons. He then lobs his torch at Sekla. It misses the hobgoblin, but it does land at her feet, igniting the grease. The grease burns out quickly, but it also burns Sekla, as well. She starts patting at her black robes, putting out the flames, and in doing so her spell is disrupted.
Kynaston, Kendra and Bear continue fighting off the demons, exchanging blows and blocking and parrying. Kendra manages to get in a nasty cut against her opponent, but he is able to pierce her defenses, as well. The Holy Guard is feeling quite weak now; she might not last much longer at this rate.
Haahqae then nocks an arrow and fires, hitting Sekla right in the shoulder. She turns from the impact, nearly falling over, but regains her footing. "You'll pay for that!" she yells at the gnome, but before she can do much else, he nocks another arrow and fires again, this time hitting her square in the chest. She collapses to the ground.

Re: CH. 2: Bear in Mine
Gregeddin frantically smothers the wounded dwarf. He feels his knees beginning to get wet from the pool of blood. Moreover when the dwarf doesn't kick out or cry in pain the harder he presses, he becomes gravely concerned.
"Die you filthy witch, and let your scaled servants follow you!" He spits out angrily.
EDIT, here is initiative, but i don't know what modifier. initiative (1d10=10)

Re: CH. 2: Bear in Mine
"Bear, Coroccoco close ranks," she calls out to the two of them. She needed to back away from the fight as she was starting to feel a little dizzy. With that in mind, she switches to defensive mode as she tries to back away from the demon she is fighting.
Re: CH. 2: Bear in Mine
"I sincerely doubt I will." Haahqae replies as his second arrow fells the priestess. Circling around so as to keep away from the demons, Haahqae makes his way past her body to investigate the scrolls and other apparatus on the table behind her. "Now let us see if you have any rituals of demon unsummoning. Or even items to keep control of the demons."

Re: CH. 2: Bear in Mine
Leaving the demon to Bear and Coroccoco, Kendra begins limping backwards, her remaining sword raised to protect herself while she clutches her side with her other hand. She inches to the edge of the lantern light and holds there, trying to catch her breath through gritted teeth.
While the battle rages on, Haahqae slips between the combatants to reach the desk behind Sekla and searches it. He finds a number of papers and scrolls, but they are all written in goblin, a language he cannot understand, and are so useless to him.
Gregeddin presses down on Darga's wounds until the bleeding stops. The Aghar is still unconscious and unresponsive, but at least he is no longer dying at the moment.
Kynaston continues against his opponent alone. He swings his axe across the demon's chest, delivering a fatal blow. The demon staggers, but then, rather than drop to the ground, it instead instantly petrifies into stone. Its weapons and gear remain find, but the creature itself is now a statue of its former self.
Bear then manages to slice through his own opponent with the same result. The demon turns into pure stone and remains frozen in its death pose. The entire cavern suddenly goes quiet, save for the ragged breathing of the party members.

Re: CH. 2: Bear in Mine
Not quite aware that the battle has finished rageing behind him, Haahqae frantically sieves through the scrolls, muttering to himself. "Piglin! Now who'sbrilliant idea is it to write scrolls in goblin? Can goblins even read? I'm sure some of them can,but it still seems likeka waste. Well I guess there's nothingto it now except to find myselfa book on learning howto read goblin. Issit worth it? Your average goblin doesn't even know how to open a Midastrap without spoiling the contents. But this Coroccoco character seems to know more then he lets on, and here I am not reading goblin scrolls. Maybe goblins are slightly smarter then I give them credit for. Oh here's another scroll, maybe it's in Draconian or dwarfish or something intelligent... D'Arvit, it's in goblin too!"
When he's thoroughly dissatisfied with his findings on the desk, Haahqae moves over and searches Sekla's charred remains, in hope that she had some powerful magic items that didn't burn up.

Re: CH. 2: Bear in Mine
Gregeddin rolls off of Darga, sighing heavily, and looks around now that the fighting has finished. He then asks "Is anyone else hurt? He's seen better days over here."
Upon seeing the statuesque demons he interjects "Whoa! Is that normal? Not that demons are normal but the others didn't do this" He gives Kynaston's demon statue a prod with his sword and examines it closely with curiosity, also checking out what equipment it was carrying.

Kendra continues to hold her side as she stares at the demons that have now turned to stone. "Odd way of dying," she mutters through her teeth as she shuffles over to her other sword to pick it up.

Re: CH. 2: Bear in Mine
Although he lies as motionless and limp as before, Darga's breathing evens and deepens. Even so, his skin is pale with blood loss and cold to the touch, and blood trickles from his wounds.
Re: CH. 2: Bear in Mine
Haahqae searches Sekla and finds the following on her: a spellbook, a scrollcase, a jewel-encrusted pendant, and a quarterstaff with runes carved all along the shaft.
Gregeddin searches the statue of the demon that Kynaston fought, and finds it has a long sword (which it still holds, and thus is encased in its stone hand), a belt, a scabbard and a loincloth.
Coroccoco kneels down by Darga and looks him over. "There's nothing more that can be done for him...unless," she trails off, and reaching into her robe, pulls out the Medallion of Zivilyn the old man gave her. She looks at it with curiosity. "I wonder..."

Re: CH. 2: Bear in Mine
"Fascinating" Gregeddin coos as he tugs on the longsword, firmly trapped in the stone hand. He leaves the items on this stone demon and walks over to inspect the other one.
He calls to the group, "Unless you want a new belt or sheath there's nothing on this one. Trench, would you go and check the Sligs for money please. Hey Haahqae, what did miss crispy have on her? Any more dried fruit?"
After looking for valuables on the stone demon, Gregeddin squats down by Darga and Coco to listen in.

"You wonder what?" Kendra asks as she walks over to Darga. "We are going to need to carry him out of here, and get him back to the city."
Re: CH. 2: Bear in Mine
"No fruit this time, but she does have a book. Good thing too, I've been searching for something to read as I pass the time between shows. And of course there's her walking stick. I think it's probably magical." Haahqae pockets the pendant, leafs through the spell book then tries to gather her scrolls from the desk into the scroll case. "Here's to hoping the book isn't in goblin tongue."
