Being bored of watching Searos Vee moves on to go into the next room too, but than she remembers and stops next to Brax.

"do you know what's that?" handing the vial out to her. "It was in the drawer. I've never seen a liquid in this color!"

Rooms as discovered.

Gunther and Kim both note that the rubbish isnt that old, possibly only a week, a strange thing to find, Gunther notes the Gold he saw earlier is a single gold earring.

Moving closer Echo realises that there is what appears to be a trapdoor in the floor, how it is operated is not clear.. As far as Echo can estimate it go down to the cellar.

Brax smiles at Vee, taking the vial in her long fingers she opens it slowly, inhaling the contents, she slowly decants a tiny portion onto her finger.. After some thought she speaks. "I would suggest it is restorative of some kind, I will hold onto it, unless you have any other ideas?" With that she waits to see what Searos would do.

Searos stands up and realizes that while he was checking out the gold locket (so pretty... slightly valuable...) he has been left behind. He jogs after the others and comes up next to Echo.

"You find something interesting?"

"So there definitely is someone alive who is using this house as a base. Most likely things they don't want the villagers to know about." Kim says to Gunter. "And they probably won't be delighted if we stumble in on them. One more danger to contend with." A fleeting grimace crossed Kim's face.

"I'm forced to agree with you...the question now is, what are they up to and what are their intentions. Anybody holed up in a place like this I think might be less than savory."

He turns to Echo and Amon.

"You two are locals...have there been any strange disappearances or burglaries lately?"

"No," Amon says. "Saltmarsh is pretty much crime free. The Council sees to that."

Brax appears with Vee in tow, sliding the purple vial into a fold in her robe she stands to the back.
"Do you see the change in the floor?" She mutters to the young warrioress, "There appears to be some form of trap door, leading down to the cellars, I would say it is strange we didn't see it earlier, but with this house, I am not surprised."

Walking to the window she notes how the sun was getting higher in the sky now, time was hard to judge but the party had probably spent a few hours in the house, making it late morning.

Searos chuckles a bit. "Crime free... sure it is. I'm sure you're precious council makes sure nobody is doing anything 'untoward.'" Searos snorts in derision at the concept and wanders over to Brax to check out this trap door that has been discovered.

"Whoever is here, they have taken the time to hide the door," Echo points out to the others. "They don't want to be found. I guess they just didn't do a good enough job." She glances to Gunter for a moment then shakes her head. "Like Amon said, Saltmarsh is pretty boring for the most part. Though, there have been some rumors about boats leaving at odd hours."

"Hmm" the humming sound is strange with Kim's hoarse voice. "Have there also been rumors of a secret connection that existed between this house and the harbor in the past?"

While waiting for the answer, Kim does a quick "detect magic" centered around the strange-looking tiles.

"Folks, now that's interesting. This place so far has been teeming with magic, but this room isn't. Especially not the floor." Kim announces to the group.

Searos snickers a bit. "Places are only boring if you don't know where to look. And grand councils of undeniable majesty and wisdom are very adept at two things. Not knowing where to look and knowing where to look but convincing the people to look elsewhere. Sounds to me like your little town might have a smuggling ring. Wouldn't that be marvelous? Little Fishville being a point along the way for someone smuggling something." Searos' eyes positively glitter at the idea.

"Now, take what I had to say earlier about boring. This room, as K so helpfully points out is devoid of magic, whatever that means. Utterly and completely boring. How droll. But! Only if you don't know where to look."

Searos crunches his foot down on a particular tile in front of him.

The second Searos presses his foot on the tile...

The room is shrouded in darkness, "HOW DARE YOU DISTURB MY REST!" A haunting voice appears from nowhere, getting closer to the group, a ghostly face, drawn and skeletal appears from the black, flying straight through Searos and surrounds the room in seconds.

Kim whistles. Now this was becoming ever more fascinating. The mage in here not only knew how to make illusions, but also how to conceal his magic...

Kim tries to disbelieve that there is darkness and a skeletal ghost face at all.
