"You couldn't just lend a bow, could you..." Ke'Sha mutters. "I can't communicate with her. Let's get in and figure out what has happened as soon as possible." Ke'Sha tells the group. Ke'Sha wait for Jack and Landro to lead the way, then, if they are safe, he joins and let Gur scout a bit, sharing his magic detection sight, specifically focusing on the platform where Nidrith vanished expecting to see her dusty remains.

(OOC: Guess it's better the undead than one of the PCs...)

“This place surely wants us at minimum confused and at most dead. I wonder if it fell into a room like the one we found before we camped.”

"Well, we learned the lesson. If you wanna keep acting careless, don't do that on the expense of the undead."

Even while recognizing the usefulness of the undead, Axid knows the halfling is taunting at the same time. Years of mental training has kept his typical dwarves anger at bay. The undead are an affront to the living and the dead.

Master Axid, can you scry on an object or creature? Or must you specify a location for remote viewing?

With the thornslingers dead Ke'Sha sends Gur in to investigate the disappearence. The invisible quasit flutters past his master, spitting a thick green glob on the wall next to Jag's head as he passes. Stupid thorn-chucking motherf... uhhh... Hey boss there's a patch of this soil that is magical. Just the middle part though, like a big square of it in the center of the platform. I don't see no bits and bobs of your juju-baby anywhere.. not sure if that's good news or not...

Bring that amulet with us. Seems like a great way to save me some trouble." Jack will advance.

Since the thornslingers are no longer throwing thorns, Stephen will accompany Jack farther into the room to check for additional traps.

Can anyone tell if the snake people passed this way? The fact that the... teleport dirt... is protected by the thornslingers suggests it leads to a valuable location. But if the snake people pass this way, they would have to have a way to avoid becoming pincushions. If they didn't pass this way, then maybe it's just a trap.

Stephen sends his thoughts to Ke'Sha. <In the absence of your commands, how is your missing minion likely to react to someone teleporting in next to it? Assuming it's been teleported and not disintegrated. Hmmm... can your familiar tell what kind of magic was involved? That could help us determine what happened.>

"I'd check for a trap." Ke'Sha mutters flatly but to himself he thinks. 'On the other hand, some dying humanoid will serve well to replace Nidrith...' After enjoying this possibility he forefit it as his comrades are currently more useful as they are than juju-zombies and says, "The platform may be a misdirection. We should check the room thouroughly even though time is of essence and I hope Nidrith is indeed just teleported and well and not being destroyed."

Jack and Stephen move into the room, checking for any traps, but finding none. Landro accompanies them, standing watch over the two as they conduct their investigation. Passing within 20 feet of the soil does not cause the amulet to grow warm.
(Where are they searching, presuming at least near the magical area in the soil?)

I don't have any magic currently that could indicate if the snakefolk passed this way. Allikhain admits

I'm not detecting any traps,” Stephen says quietly. “I think that means the teleport dirt doesn't lead to a bad ending.

I assume we're using the definition of Trap as spelled out in the 2nd level Priest Spell Find Traps?
PHB p204 wrote:A trap is any device or magical ward that meets three criteria: it can inflict a sudden or unexpected result, the spellcaster would view the result as undesirable or harmful, and the harmful or undesirable result was specifically intended as such by the creator. Thus traps include alarms, glyphs, and similar spells or devices.
Did Gur or Binky determine what kind of magic was present? Alteration could mean disintegration, while conjuration/summoning could indicate teleportation.

[Yeah, that's basically how it operates. Essentially if the element is intended and able to cause a bad effect, it would be detected. However, if it was a dumping area that went to something like a trash compactor, that would likely not show up. While hazardous, such a place is not intended to have people in it.

Gur will indicate that the small magical area he found shows Alteration magic. Disintegration and Teleport are both Alteration.]

"So a teleport likely to some place unknown. You could always send the less less fortunate soul you are communicating with after the least fortunate one." Jag will fill in the blanks.(Assuming a high level caster could make this assumption)

"I will start looking for some doors." Jack states.

"If you are certain the room is clear, I will come help search." Jag offers.

"Master Stephen, I can pick points and its helps if I have seen the places before but even then the chances become slimmer. Places close by say, 100 yards or so, are much easier. I do have to pick a point and then I may look about. What have you in mind?' He chuckles slightly at his play on words given their profession. Axid queries.

Stephen grins. “Just curious if you could take a peek at the missing minion to see where they are. Sounds like that's a 'no' without knowing their location.

Stephen looks at Ke'Sha. “If you minion won't attack me when I teleport next to it, I could follow it, then open a portal back here. But how likely is your minion to attack if you're not directly controlling it?

(edit by me)
I personally would find being teleported to a trash disposal chamber highly undesirable.
