"Adran is already up for his watch and appears to be uninjured from the skirmish. He and I shall watch until it is time for Jerry and Merrick's turn."

Assuming this was the order:
1st Adrastia, Pytor and Artanis
2nd Elsa, Mira
3rd Pyros, Cross and Adran
4th Cross and Adran
5th Jerry, Merrick

"Oh ok, that spot does look awful warm." He will clap Pyrtor on the arm.

Heading to a the warm spot near Elsa.
"Too bad, I was just thinking of pulling these out." He will rattle his bone dice.

He will turn into his bedroll and probably fall sleep quickly.

After returning to camp, Artanis begins to clear the bodies away into the woods; placing them so as not to draw more predators towards the encampment. The others, once healed, settle down for another attempt at sleep; Pyros in particular feeling rather worn out. Elsa bids the others goodnight, and hugs both Mira and the kender tight before turning in for the evening.

Pytor and Adran taking their turn at the watch…
..
.

The watches continue through the night until the wan light of day begins to filter through the thick forest canopy. Morning comes, and the unsettling eeriness of the nocturnal hours transforms to an almost idyllic woodland setting.

casters pick your spells for the day.

I’ll do xp for the group after the next game day just before they arrive at the area where the crown is supposed to lie.

Cross is Exhausted from his near-death ordeal last night. He will be able to do little more for the next 24 hours than speak, study and a very limited amount of walking. Fortunately, there are two horses, so he can ride rather than trek through the woods.

The small folk can ride some, jog some, etc so this doesn’t slow the group down significantly. I’m not interested in bogging the game down calculating exact distance/speeds for that for a marginally more accurate arrival time, so we’ll just keep it to the previously anticipated schedule.

Pyros regains 1 hp [16/17]

Pyros will ride/job/walk as his normal kender nature would have him do anyway.

He will try to regale the group with tales from home, and some of his humorous adventures of evading the guards of the larger cities of home.

Whenever they stop for a break, Pytor will slip away for a moment. "I'll be back shortly. Need to go drain the dragon for a bit. I'll glance for a brook while I'm at it."

Where possible Jerry will try to provide long term care for any injured while they're on the move and during stops.

The group stops briefly midday near a small fresh creek. Pytor moves off downstream a little out of sight to relieve himself before returning. Artanis follows half-way and keeps a lookout over the surroundings in case anything approaches Pytor. shortly after the two return.

Before long they are back on the road (more later)

Mira walks on often lost in her own thoughts, the group occasionally catch her mumbling things like "Stupid, should have thought it through.." or "You have to think then act..."

Pyros will perform some tricks with a coin, trying to distract Mira and Cross.

Before long, the group is on their way again. The hours pass uneventfully enough, though the chill of the land threatens to seep deep into their bones as the day begins to wane. The trail takes them closer to the river as it curves northeast around one of the foothills. The ranger and the gypsy-woman pause to consult their maps before a quiet discussion. Turning back to the group, Artanis speaks. We’re about to lose the light, so we’ll stop here. Adrastia and I talked it over, and this is a short way south of our destination. Whatever we’re to find there, we both agree that it would be best to have a good night’s sleep under our belts before checking it out.

"Sounds like a plan! I will take watch with anyone!" Pyros will burst out, getting ready to make some dinner.

"Sure," says Jerry, trusting in their expertise.
"Is this as good as anywhere?" she continues. "If someone wants to make a perimeter sweep, I'll check everyone's wounds dressings." (i.e. Long term care).
She smile at the unusually silent Merrick and then sets bout her business.

The spell caster uses some minor spells to ensure clean wounds and reduce chances of infection:

Abjuration cantrips:
"On this hurt, now is no dirt!"
"Wound I've seen, will be clean!"
"Mess and smear, begone from here!"
"Things that infect, I hereby eject!"

She'll ask around, and check out any former wounds (since healed magically).
The wounds may still be covered in blood and better clean and safe than messy and sorry.
