Cal, Cross, Elsa, Mira and Pyros: The Blue Bolt
Marie blushes at the Bard’s frankness, but cannot help herself, The powerful young man with you earlier? she asks, half question half as fact. Oh, I remember Monard the first time I saw him… his shoulders… Blushing even further she stops, her hand almost drifting to the dark patch on her cheek before she turns the motion into fixing her collar that really did not need it. Don’t worry, I’ll keep the dress secret for you and her. She says, changing the subject quickly.
After eyeing Pyros for size, Marie shakes her head regarding the belt. Nothing ready… Most of my wide belts are for adults or for young girls… I could make something especially for him. Are you thinking green cloth with gold thread or dyed leather?

"Yes thats him, we are really just getting to know each other.. " her eyes flash with a little anger over the bruises, "Shame that they are still like wild animals at times.." Mira let's the statement sit for a moment. "Sorry if I'm too open.. I'm from a different culture I suppose.. and I'm more open than many." Smirking she changes the subject fully.
"Ooh I'll have to ask, he may look like a child, but he's a grown man, and a very sweet one at that." Mira resists the urge to ruffle his hair. "She has nothing in stock your size, but she could make you something.. green cloth with gold thread? Or do you want dyed leather?" She asks in common."

Artanis
Artanis nods: "Six miles, stick to the road. I suppose that would be the safe play, but not the adventuresome way. Still, best to get to know the area better first, before going off of the beaten path."
The ranger regards the young lad for several moments: "That was the right thing to do. Not only did you save his life, but you've given him an occupation and are a great role model. And that was an unfortunate and horrible thing to have happen to him. We're...we're getting prepared for certain...contingencies." The ranger nods indicated he will say no more on the matter.
He turns to Yasir and asks: "I am more than willing to find some...things to try out our new blades. Although don't over polish it - that can be bad for the eyes."

Cal, Cross, Elsa, Mira and Pyros: The Blue Bolt
Marie practically jumps at the bard’s “wild animals” comment, but she quickly latches on to the next part of the conversation to change the subject. Yes, gypsy life must be so much different. I… I have heard your people perform… certain dances… she cuts her eyes around and blushes furiously as she speaks.
When Mira goes on to say that Pyros is not a child, but a full grown man, Marie seems skeptical; glancing between him and the redhead.
Artanis and Yasir: Blacksmith Shop
The blacksmith shrugs, The road is safest if you’re just trying to get to Skald… I don’t have to tell you all the good hunting will be off the beaten path. he finishes. As the conversation turns back to the young man, John looks at the taller redhead with a little sadness in his eyes. I’m just glad he came around… I wasn’t sure he ever would for a while… giving him something to do seemed to help. Once he got that hammer in his hands there was no stopping him. John seems as content to let the subject go as Artanis is the other.
Yasir, who has been glancing around the shop, turns back to the half-elf at his jest. With a toothy almost-grin he hefts his sword. Too bad there isn’t anything nearby. I can handle my two-handed sword well enough, I don’t need a babysitter telling me how often to ‘wash’ it, he banters. Besides, I thought that was what all you woodsy types did in the forest all day anyway, tending to your ‘saplings’. He lets out a rich laugh and sheathes his sword. With a wave to John he heads to the door.

"Don't all cultures?" Mira asks with a sly smirk, "I am a traveller.. I've seen more than one questionable dance." She tries to suppress a frown but fails, a woman was obviously expected to obey her man... regardless of if he hurts her or not.
"You've heard the stories, I rode into town on a wolf. So why cant I associate with men who stand as small as children?" Her laughter is playful, making it obvious that she is making a joke.

"How much for the green leather?" Mira asks, unsure where he would find the money

Cal, Cross, Elsa, Mira and Pyros: The Blue Bolt
Marie laughs a little nervously at Mira’s joke about riding wolves and grown men the size of children. It is obvious she can tell the bard is teasing, but is uncertain as to which was true and which a jest… frankly it seems either possibility would be unsettling. The green leather would be 3 silver. The cloth and thread would depend on the degree of embroidery you want. A simpler design would obviously be cheaper, a few silver, while a very elaborate one could be a few gold. As the women are speaking Cross models his new clothing. He prepares to cast a cantrip to make it sparkle and shimmer, but realizes he has not memorized that spell for the day and never bent his studies to using cantrips without memorization.
[OOC: Cross took the Cantrip as a lvl 1 spell and not a NWP.
The benefits of having it as a spell are:
1) you never have to roll a proficiency check for it,
2) you get more xp per use for casting a 1st lvl spell than for using the nwp, and
3) The spell has a 1hr/lvl duration during which 1 effect can be used/started per round but many can be running at once (Think Fantasia).
The drawbacks are:
A) the usages cannot be spread out beyond the duration of the spell itself (the nwp could be spread out as randomly and far apart as you want)
B) you have to use a 1st lvl spell slot to memorize it for the day (or you can memorize more than once, just like any 1st lvl spell)
So, at lvl 3 Cross could cast it and use an unlimited amount of cantrips for 3 hours without having to roll for each one. After the spell ends (by expired duration or magical cancellation) he would be unable to use any more cantrips that day unless he cast the 1st lvl spell again.
It would be possible to have both the spell and nwp, but currently nobody does.]

Mira explains the costs for the belt to Pyros, before returning her attention to Marie.
"I'm just a person Marie my dear. Just like everyone else." Giving a nervous little laugh she puts a hand on the girls shoulder.. "I'd like it if you saw me as a friend."

"Let's go with green leather, and some kind of boar and wolf embroidery." He will then take out two gold pieces and juggle them around in one hand.

I'm not sure you can use gold thread with leather, Elsa says. Marie begins to relax a little, even giving the Kender a weak smile as he juggles a pair of gold coins in one hand. Cross, deciding that all-out is the only way to go, begins casting a spell in the middle of the shop. He says the magic words, takes a bit of fleece from his pouch and pulls it a little to stretch it. Marie grows pale, her mouth working but no sound coming out. The Elf's cape begins to billow in an invisible wind that touches no one else, sparkling with a magical light. The shopkeep's eyes grow wider still, until a broad, grinning mouth filled with teeth forms on the top hat just above the ribbon. The table behind makes a loud scraping noise as Marie backs into it, nearly going down in the process. I... I... I need to go lie down... With no further explanation she hurries to the back room and closes the door, leaving her entire shop unlocked and unattended. A latch can be heard to close beyond the wooden portal. I wonder what got into her? The halfling says, confused.

"CROSS." Mira says in a commanding tone, her eyes flashing with irritation. "Out now, let me talk to her alone." She wanted to shout something about not discharging magic in the presence of these people, but it would have to wait. "I warned you." Is all she says, giving Elsa a worried glance.
When they leave, and I'm going to assume they do, Mira turns the closed sign and sits on a chair, waiting. "They've gone, I know, I'm sorry." She says in a low voice.
Didn't they understand survival, fitting in? You do what the people want and you don't make waves.. Waves spread.. She'd tried her best to say protected, respected even.. And.. Trying not to scream she sits patiently.
