"It might be worth taking Yasir with you.. He knows John and looking at dusty old books will be rather dull for him too." Mira gives him a knowing smile.

As Mira chats with Artanis, Pyros will open the door and take a deep breath!

Yasir gives Mira a short, but tender kiss then secretly pinches her rump to give her a jolt. With a wink he joins Artanis as they head toward John’s shop calling back to the others, Go forth and slay the demons of commerce! The whole of Athkatla would be proud! We will scout ahead and lay low any ruffians that stand in our way! With a broad smile for the group and a wink for the bard the two fighters head off to the smithy.
Artanis and Yasir: Blacksmith Shop
Once into the street the wind seems to have picked up even more, and the day has turned cooler than one would have anticipated. Low clouds have obscured the sun, and it seems very different from the bright day of fishing hardly an hour past. The two make it quickly to the smithy with the street so sparsely populated. John is at work putting the finishing touches on a shortsword with a silver blade, while Terry is focusing on another item nearby. What ho, my friend! Is my blade ready to spill the blood of evil! It fairly itches for action. The warrior calls out when he sees John working on the weapon he borrowed what seems so long ago. A lopsided grin crosses the hairy man’s face when he sees Yasir, but he speaks to Artanis. His sword is ready, I assume that’s what he’s so excited about. How do you like your longsword? Terry said you picked it up earlier.
Cal, Cross, Elsa, Mira and Pyros: The Blue Bolt
The waitress returns Cal’s smile and waves as they depart. Mira leads the way to the Blue Bolt, and Marie greets them. Cross’ satin cape and hat are ready, both now bearing the violet fabric he requested. Marie casts a slightly anxious glance at the re-appearance of the Kender.
[OOC: Lunch was a little cheaper since the party provided some of the food. All-told it is about 18 sp.
4 sp remaining for drinks (2sp wine pitcher, 2sp ale pitcher, 1 sp cider (pyros paid, artanis offered but the kender beat him to it), water free),
Artanis sampler (1sp), Cal fish (1sp), Pyros mutton (2sp) and fish (1sp), Cross Stew (1sp) and pork (2sp), Mira stew (1sp) and pork (2sp) to share, Yasir mutton (2sp), Elsa fish (1sp)= 14sp
There seemed to be a lot of food-sharing going on, so I’ll leave it to the party to divvy up the remaining costs.]

Mira wobbles on her feet for a moment before leaving with the others a broad smile on her face.
"Greetings again Marie." The bard announces as she enters the shop, "My friends are as pleased with your work as I am..."
"Pyros?" Turning to the Kender she looks down at him for a moment, "Could you do me a big favour, do you remember the girls we met at the Fesitval? Yes the ones that thought you were a child.. I want to travel to Skald with them.. could you look out for them? Perhaps take a look now, we will only be doing dull shopping. We will be out in a moment." With that she waits in the doorway, half excited over her new dress and half anxious to read the book...

Artanis
Artanis pays for his meal and thanks Pyros for buying his cider.
At John's shop Artanis replies: "Yes, he's on about the new sword and can't wait to get back to the room and polish it. Heh. The new one of mine is very nicely balanced. It will take some getting used to as it's larger than the old one, but a magnificent blade. May it aid me with sending many you know whats to their final rest." The ranger says with a smile and a nod of satisfaction.
"We'll be off to Skald tomorrow morning. Any words of caution besides the usual about the woods? " Looking at Terry, Artanis quietly asks John: "Your son? He's a growing, strapping lad - probably eats his weight every day. Heh."
Artanis turns to Yasir and informs him that his new sword is ready.

Artanis and Yasir: Blacksmith Shop
John barks a laugh at the Ranger’s jest, cutting his eyes towards the warrior. Oiling and wiping the blade down, he hands it back to Yasir for inspection. Excellent, my friend… the shorter man replies, checking the edge and flexing the steel a little with his powerful hands. John holds up three fingers and the warrior nods, retrieving the gold from his pouch and paying the man. Worthy work. What say you now, Artanis? Shall we find something to test our blades upon?
Glad you’re happy with it, and good hunting. John replies in regard to Artanis’ remark about the sword. Skald, eh… he scratches idly at his beard in thought. Shouldn’t be any trouble as long as you stick to the road. It’s not far, maybe six miles at the most and due North. I don’t expect it’d take you much more than a couple hours… half a day if the small folk are going with you… the last was spoken almost as a question. When the conversation turns to Terry, John’s expression grows somber and he lowers his voice as well. No… I found him in the woods one day. His parents had been killed by wolves… or something like them… he said, giving Artanis a significant look. The boy survived by hiding in a cleft in the hillside that they couldn’t reach. That was about twelve years ago. He didn’t have any relatives and I guess I just couldn’t leave him there so he stayed with me for a while… Took him a couple years to start talking again. Throughout the whole exchange Terry only glances at the pair once, but remains silent; giving no sign as to whether or not he could hear or even understood the conversation in Elven… The burly smith shrugs as if that was all there was to it. He’s a damn good worker, and yeah he has an appetite like a boar in rut. John chuckles.
Cal, Cross, Elsa, Mira and Pyros: The Blue Bolt
Cross, pleased with the work, hands his payment over to Marie who accepts it and the translated complement with a gracious nod. Good to see you again so soon. I hope nothing troublesome caused you to rush off so urgently before. she replies, the hint of a question at the end.
If you learn the translation spell Mira is going to use you could read pretty much anything, right? Elsa asks, half to Cal and half to the Bard.
-----
Cross pays 4 sp for the satin cape with violet lining, and 1 sp for the top-hat with a violet ribbon-band.
Artanis pays 1 sp for the meat and cheese sampler.
Pyros slips 25 sp to the server unnoticed
Yasir pays 3 gp to have his silver short sword repaired.
OOC: Thanks for reminding me, Nocturno. I still need to re-construct the “kender things” list from the post where you made the pocket-dump...

"Indeed, sorry I went like that I wanted to hide the clothes so a certain man wouldnt see.. I wanted it to be a suprise for him. One he can unwrap later." Grinning widely she giggles and runs her hand through her hair. "Remember only Elsa gets to see the dress when its done." Smirking again she nods to Elsa.
"The spell enables whoever its cast on understand langauage.. any language." Mira explains switching to common once more.

"I don't suppose you have a wide belt, something in green and gold. But to fit my friend here.." Mira asks in Harmonian putting a hand on Pyros's shoulder.
"Of course Cross, please feel free..." She adds in common.
