"Focus your fire on the hag!" Amon calls out to Searos and Gunter. "She is the greater threat! Do not allow her to spellcast under any circumstance!"

With the seacat now distracted by Brax, Amon is free to cast. He quickly casts his only offensive spell, firing a magical missile at the hag.

Echo, likewise, uses her Chromatic Orb spell, conjuring a small orb of red light. She throws it at the hag, in hopes of softening her up for the archers.

Dogmeat attempts to attack the same seacat as before, the one attacking Brax.

==========

Amon's Initiative (1d10+1): 8
Amon makes a saving throw vs. paralyzation (1d20+1): 16, pass.
Amon casts Magic Missile (1d4+1): 4 damage.

Dogmeat's Initiative (1d10+3): 13
Dogmeat makes a saving throw vs. paralyzation (1d20): 2, fail.
Dogmeat attacks the first seacat (1d20): 3, miss.

Echo's Initiative (1d10+1): 6
Echo makes a saving throw vs. paralyzation (1d20+1): 17
Echo casts Chromatic Orb and throws it at the hag (1d20): 16, hit for (1d6): 4 damage. The Hag must save vs. spell or suffer a -1 to hit and +1 to AC for one round.

Brax lifts out of the water, with the intention to grab the creature, instead she stands still, water dripping from her hair as she looks at the old woman, her whole body tenses and she starts to shake.

"What.... What.....?" Is all she manages to say, standing shocked.

(Brax fails her save completely.)

Save vs. Paralyzation -- 2 (FAIL) http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3658057/

At the sight of the new figures bursting from the ocean, Gunter draws his bowstring back again to take aim, but when his eyes focus on the hag his blood runs cold and a sickness rises in his gut. He's helpless to do anything but stare at the awful creature that is atop the rock.

"Gods above, what is that thing?" he whispers to himself.

(OOC: The module was written for another edition, so I had to use an analogous saving throw to the one used there. The effect of the hag's horrific appearance in the module is not paralysation, but loss of strength.)

I'll wait for Searos to state his action before I go on.

Searos gapes at the creature that just burst out of the ocean not even raising his bow. "What in the..."

Save v. Paralysation fail: 10 http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3658276/

So, if I am not paralyzed what I am?

Saving throw for Kim: 12, fail

While Amon and Echo seem unaffected by the horror the sea hag spreads, everybody else feels suddenly weary and weak. Dogmeat whimpers and tries to hide behind Amon. Veeleyana's and Brax's knees almost buckle under them for a moment before they regain their footing, the armor they wear seem a lot heavier. Gunter blinks a few times, he has to lower his bow for a moment and get a new grip on it, the string is so much harder to pull. Searos is worst affected, he has to sit down quickly for fear of his knees giving way, and he can hardly even lift his bow, let alone pull it. Kim is less severely affected and remains upright, but sways somewhat.

Actions for Brax and Vee, initiative and action for Gunter and Searos, please.

Strength losses / new strength values:
Vee: -6 / 10
Brax: -5 / 11
Gunter: -6 / 12
Searos: -8 / 3
Kim: -8 5

Searos plunks down right where he is, letting the bow fall from his hands. He considers that the good part about being so weak suddenly is he can't lift his head to look at the hag.

After the short shock Vee tries to cover up her paralysis by spinning around very fast to the second sea-monster-cat-thing. Using the power of her angular momentum she tries to hit it at the head with her staff.

Fighting to regain her footing, Brax clasps her hands together with all the might she has left, and tries to bring them down on the creature.

1d10, 1d20=[1], [4]

Init 1, but miss.

(Spell use next me thinks...)

Gunter tries in vain to pull the string back on his short bow but it is too much for him (damned composite bow!)

He slings the bow back over his shoulder and with a groan, draws his longsword and starts to pick his way along the rocks towards the hag.

Initiative: 1d10 = 1 (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3662404/) Also, are we using weapon speed? If we are, that 1 is now a 6.

(OOC: Yes, we are using weapon speed. But don't worry, use a simple d10, I will factor the weapon/spell etc in when appropriate).

Brax recovers most quickly from the Sea Hag's power to withdraw strength, but her attack on the sea cat is too weak nonetheless and misses it. The Sea Hag hardly moves, but tries to lock eyes with Amon who is close to her and seems to be the most dangerous foe because he knew what she is. Amon must now check vs. Petrification/Polymorph to withstand her evil eye.

Gunter needs time to get to the rock and past Brax, Vee, Amon, two sea cats and the triton to reach the hag, therefore his attack will be the last of the round. Echo manages to successfully throw a Chromatic Orb at the Hag, causing a damage of 4. The hag howls in anger because she did not spot that spellcaster in time (save vs. spell: 1d20=14, just what was needed). The second sea cat, who appears to be female, tries to lunge at Vee but throws herself onto a rock hidden under the water, growling in pain. 1d20=1
Vee tries to retaliate, but misses as well. Troll, the other Sea Cat, attacks Brax 1d20=14, it is successful with both paws 1d6, 1d20, 1d6=[6], [19], [5], causing a damage of 11 in total.
Amon and Kim both fire a magic missiles at the Sea Hag, causing another 8 points of damage (roll for Kim: 1d4+1=4).
Finally, Gunter arrives at the rock where the hag sits and swings his long sword 1d20, 1d8=[11], [6]. He just manages to hit her on the shoulder, causing another 6 points of damage. The figure collapses, then shudders, and after a moment when she tries vainly to escape into the sea, she gulps one last time for air and stops stirring. The young triton cries out with joy, but the battle is not over yet, the sea cats are intent on revenging their former master.

Brax has lost more than half her hit points in this single attack, she must make a system shock save to survive.

Actions for round 3?

Initiative roll for Sea Hag, Sea Cat 1 (Troll) and Sea Cat 2 (Trall): 1d10, 1d10, 1d10=[5], [7], [6], for Kim: 1d10=9
Initiative order:
Brax: 4 (you rolled that earlier)
Sea Hag: 5
Gunter: 6
Echo: 6
Trall: 7
Troll: 8
Amon: 8
Kim: 9+1=10
Dogmeat: 13
Vee: 10+4=14

With the sea hag fallen, Amon turns his attention to the two seacats. As Vee appears to be holding her own for the moment, he instead moves toward the one currently mauling Brax. He swings his staff at it from behind with as much force as he can muster.

========

Amon's Initiative (1d10+4): 8
Dogmeat's Initiative: (N/A)

Amon makes a saving throw vs. Polymorph/Petrification (1d20+1): 13, pass.

Amon attacks the seacat attacking Brax with his quarterstaff from behind (1d20+2): 18, hit for (1d6): 5 damage.

Dogmeat does nothing, as he is too weak.

System Shock: (95) 1d100=76 Pass.

Being the only one who is injured, Brax recoils and casts cure light wounds on herself.

1d8=1 HP restored.

Echo throws darts at the head of the seacat attacking Vee. This proves to be a largely futile gesture, as two miss and the one that hits barely hurts such a hulking beast.

=========

Initiative (1d10+2): 11

Echo throws a dart at the seacat attacking Vee (1d20): 16, hit for (1d2): 2 damage.
Echo throws a dart at the seacat attacking Vee (1d20): 9, miss.
Echo throws a dart at the seacat attacking Vee (1d20): 9, miss.

How long does the strength thing last? Since the Hag is dead can Searos move or something?
