Labyrinth OOC

A classic 2e Puzzle dungeon for High Level characters
Beware, this one is substantially longer and (IMHO) even harder than the legendary Tomb of Horrors!

Having the chapter written as a novel style story seems kind of neat. Not sure the AI is currently up to the task

Yeah, the BS scientific papers worry me; though I have never come across one when actively researching that I know of. I would hope it would be obvious enough to someone in the subject field to identify as AI

lol... you should try to get it to do a simple excel formula.

I think they do it wrong on purpose so you buy the excel module...

How close are we to the evening of the 5th of Reaping? Steve's got a conversation he needs to have with Landro.

Yeah. Probably take less time to write it up yourself than to fight with ChatGPT to get close and edit from there.

Again, it's not trying to be accurate. Being correct never enters into its algorithms. It's just trying to convince you it knows what it's talking about. It's basically trying to pass the Turing Test, which I'd say it does pretty well. But passing the Turing Test doesn't mean anything is spits out is trustworthy.

Current time is updated in the first post of the game thread, it is currently
10:00 PM , Godsday the 4th of Reaping [Day 2]

Don't get too far ahead with item creation stuff, there should be some action well before then

It was my understanding that Ke'Sha wanted another day to recover the spells he cast creating his undead.

Whether he wants more days to rest or not, the fact remains: The party went into the dungeon and killed a bunch of stuff then left. The burned trolls being removed should also be a hint that this fact was noticed by something in the cave. Every day away is time for the enemy to do stuff too. Just something for the party as a whole to think about carefully...

A lot of the outside stuff is dragging the game to a halt, and I'm hoping we can work through that very soon (I know a lot of it is my own unavailability lately as well.)

Okay. I'll try not to get too far ahead of myself.

Is there a map somewhere of the 'tropical' valley we're currently in? I gather that the Black Ice is a region near the north pole of Oerth, and some sources mention a lush "rainbow valley" which could very likely be where we're at. It'd be nice to have a better idea of how big this valley is and what's around us.

The area is basically undiscovered before now. The valley itself is about 2 miles wide and 10 miles long and surrounded by high, impassable mountains aside from the one narrow winding pass on the far end that the caravan entered. There is no map, the module is mostly supposed to be a dungeon crawl

Edit: Ke'Sha only needed a couple of fingers for his spell, not the whole bodies

So the troll bodies are gone now. Do we know if they were burned up by the elemental? It was given instructions to burn any trolls it found, so that could account for their disappearance. Or did the elemental not find the bodies? Ke'sha of course, turned 3 of them into zombies: Bert, William, and Tom. Were there any others?

The original bodies were removed by someone other than the party. New trolls were killed by the elemental and later found by Jag/ Landro when they went back to scout. I may not have made that as clear as I could have

Holding hands, or a rod that is a couple feet long to allow some movement.

Holding hands might work, but using rope or rod kind of defeats the point of Invisibility.

Reduce is 5 min/level, giving about an hour of invisibility per casting of Reduce. A regular invisibility spell lasts longer, with the caveat that it ends when you attack, and can't be reinstated without a fresh casting. Allikhaine doesn't know Enlarge/Reduce, and Jagrinder can only cast it four times, assuming he wanted to dedicate all his first-level spell slots to it.

I'm not certain that's an effective use of our magical energies. Maybe if we knew in advance when we'd need them, but an hour's not long enough to for a full dungeon-delving day. Up to Nocturno, of course.

Plus, if everyone's invisible, we'd probably just end up constantly banging into each other.
