Mira howls in pain, her voice breaking the otherwise silence of the forest as she all but drops her blade, "Dammit!" She screams, trying to defend herself.

Adran, Jerry and Merrick: in camp
Adran and Merrick Scan the forest, weapons ready as Jerry bandages up her fellow half-elf. The forest is eerily quiet nearby, though faint sounds of conflict can be heard off into the night. Merrick thanks Jerry for the stones and the medical attention. I hope the others are faring as well… he mutters quietly


Elsa, Mira and Pytor
Elsa circles around behind the beast hurls a stone, but the shot goes far wide as she tries to avoid hitting Mira. The Bard and the Gypsy man both press the attack against the large canine; neither managing to land a blow. The Beast snarls and takes yet another bite out of Mira’s shoulder! You get away from them you big ugly mutt!!! Elsa yells, hurling stones at the Jackal-thing and pelting him with the rocks twice. With a vicious snarl, the creature turns its focus on the Halfling…


Adrastia, Artanis and Pyros
Pyros jogs off into the woods towards the sound of the raven. He tries for a burst of extra speed, but the small rogue is still winded from all of the running and fighting the last few minutes. Adrastia and Artanis follow close behind. As the trio draw nearer the raven caws again, keeping them on track.

"Off to help! Stay here you two," says Jerry with a gentle pat on Merrick's hand, catching this eye and smiling. She grips her morningstar as she heads off intending to run, but only managing a trot, in the direction of the sounds of conflict.

Enraged now Mira catches the creatures change of direction, the pain clouding her actions as she swings once more, the old blade driven forwards towards it again.

Wait! But… it would be dangerous out there alone! Merrick calls out as Jerry rushes away from camp. The Mystran tries for a burst of speed, but the catches a stitch in her side and manages only a quick jog. The sounds of combat seem to shift in the tangled forest, but she trusts her instincts to guide her. Hustling through the darkened woods, she finally catches sight of some of the others; Mira, Pytor and Elsa facing of against one of the Jackal-things about 30 feet away!

Pytor deals a glancing blow with his Warhammer, but the weapon fails to harm the creature once again. With little else he can do, the gypsy man prepares to strike again. The Halfling hooks her mace quickly to her side and covers herself with her shield as she makes her way around to the bard. Speaking a quick prayer, her now free hand glows with a golden light. The beast lunges at the small cleric, hideous teeth raking across the top of her shield and nearly catching her. The attack throws the shorter woman off-balance enough that the healing spell fades before she can manage to touch her friend!

Elsa growls in frustration as the healing spell wanes. Enough of this. Mira can’t you just use what you did on those wolf-things? A mild feeling of loss leaves the others as the cleric’s prayer ends as well. There goes that one too. We need to finish this now! I cant do anything to it, and Pytor’s hammer isn’t working. Can’t you give him that sword and use some magic on it? she proposes.

The call of the raven leads the trio farther into the woods. Finally they see the bird circling above the still figure of Cross about 30 feet away. As the three come into view, Fenrir perches somewhere in the trees above; still calling out to them. CAW! Ca… Ca-CAW!

*Up to 60' so presumably 60/3=20'. Idea being to pull it away from Mira so it might present its back to her.
I'm assuming one can do a half move and then cast a spell. The spell is more important and the move would be omitted if necessary to cast the spell.

The fog clearing Mira takes a deep breath and lets loose all three streams of purple energy, "Shot through the heart!" She sings over the battle, short sword handed to Pytor as she lets the magic go.

Jerry tries a minor harmony with Mira's tune.

Pyros bounds over to Cross and tries to do something to help.

He will flip through his packs looking for some cloth to use as bandages, if none is found he will use part of one of his winter blankets.

Jerry tramps through the woods in an arc around the combat, firing a turquoise colored magic missile at the beast’s back. The bolt of force connects, but seems to have only minor effectiveness. Mira passes the iron blade to Pytor, who is just about to strike when she lets out her own string of magical bolts of force. The flashing lights dart forward to blast the creature squarely in the chest. A faint whine accompanies the crashing sound as it falls back to earth. Slowly the figure warps and shrinks, gradually returning to the form of a normal jackal…


Meanwhile, farther from camp:
Pyros rushes through the brush towards his fallen comrade. Catch! Artanis calls behind, tossing him a roll of bandages acquired for the journey. The short rogue easily snags it out of the air and begins to treat the unconscious Elf’s wounds. The damage is extensive, but the Kender manages to stabilize the white-haired wizard. Adrastia and Artanis trot up beside the pair, scanning the forest for any additional threats. We should get back to the others as soon as we can. Glancing at Cross for a moment, she regards the others. I can carry him if you two lead the way.
