Gallath steps back by Val and shoots at #3

Luckily Ouragana had finished her examination of armor #4 and stepped back before they came to life. She stays where she beleives to be out of reach and circles it whlie drawing her mundane dagger. Trying a shot of luck, she throws it at the animated armor, hoping to find a gap between the joints.

INIT 3, Hit Roll 1


(OOC: Ouragana had been examining the helmet of the defeated suit of armor before, so now it's no longer interesting)

"Everyone who can shoot stand near Val. I'll draw the armors and you can shoot them in the back. Jocelyn, Ouragana, stand behind me!" Baeros orders while taking a step closer to both armor (OOC: step to position to fight both armors) and swings his swords each at a different opponent.

"Alright, can we be a little more careful with the webs this time?" Drav says.

{Gonna probably need to use both swords for this one}

Ouragana starts things off by throwing her elven dagger at the nearest armor. Unfortunately, her aim is way off and she instead winds up hitting Gallath in the back instead. Hopefully this opening salvo is not a bad omen of how this battle will turn out. The armor readies its axe and takes a swing at Gallath, as he is the closest one. The demon-hunter is hit pretty badly, and won't last much longer at this rate. Luckily, Baeros steps in to cover the demon hunter's withdrawal. The ranger gets in a lucky hit with his short sword, dealing some nasty damage. Not wasting the reprieve, Gallath backs away a few steps, then nocks an arrow and fires it at the offending armor, again knocking its helmet off clean.

Drav quickly draws his blades and starts slashing at the other armor, hoping to keep its attention away from the others. He manages to take out an arm and a leg, but the armor's attention remains fixed on Granite. As the gnome tries to escape, the armor suddenly stabs right at him, piercing through his Armor spell easily. The spear sinks into his chest, luckily missing his heart. Granite becomes visible again before collapsing onto the ground, bleeding profusely all over the carpet. Brock then joins Drav, trying to knock the armor to pieces before it can strike again.

(OOC: Sorry, Nuke, but I'm employing the Three Day Rule here again.

BishGada, there is no position Baeros can take on the map that would allow him to be in range to attack both armors at once, so since Drav is fighting #3, I had him attack #4 instead.

Upon seeing Granite visible and bleeding, Jocelyn rushes to his side to try to stop the bleeding. "How did the armor see him?"

Healing Check

Gallath grits his teeth in pain. "Watch it!" He calls to Ouragana. He fires another arrow at #4, taking a deep breath before to aim.

Baeros shoots a quick look at Granite and back at the armor close to him. 'Damn! We must break these things quickly.' he thinks to himself while swinging his swords at the apparition. His concern makes him lose concentration and his blows are easily deflected by the hideous armor.

regarding initiative when using two swords, doesn't each swors has it's own SF and therefore different time of the attack within a round? and not both according to the slower one?

"We need to keep the armor away from Granite and Jocelyn at all costs" Drav says to Baeros.

{Two swords}

Ouragna casts her shield spell, then rushes over to interpose herself between Armor #3 and Jocelyn/Granite.

Jocelyn and Ouragana are the first to move, and both head toward Grey. Jocelyn kneels by his body and begins doing her best to patch him up. Luckily she thought to get a medkit earlier, so she opens it up and pulls out the bandages she needs to stop the bleeding. She isn't able to do much more than that, though. The gnome is stable, but still comatose. Ouragana stands over his body, casting a spell of protection over herself and using her own body as a human shield to guard both the downed rogue and the cleric attending him.

It proves all for naught, though. A moment later, Drav destroys the offending armor, knocking it into pieces which clatter on the ground loudly. "Hey!" Brock complains. "I was about to do that!"

Meanwhile, Baeros continues to attack the other armor, keeping it busy. He doesn't do any real damage, but he at least draws the golem's attention away from the vulnerable Gallath. It turns toward the ranger and says in that strange, metallic voice, "IDENTIFICATUR...parma...NOVUM."

"I...I have to do something," mutters Thaddeus' disembodied voice. "Adflatus!" he intones, which has two effects. First, his invisibility drops, revealing him standing against the back wall, holding his wand. Second, a beam of energy fires from the wand, striking at the last armor. But strangely, instead of damaging it...it seems to repair it a little! The armor absorbs the energy, and some of the cracks and dents buff out magically. "Oh, dear. I shouldn't have done that," the mage laments.

Brock, frustrated by a lack of targets, shuffles over to the other armor and swings his axe at it, doing severe damage. But the armor holds on long enough to block two of Gallath's arrows with its shield and then swing its axe at Baeros, cutting a bit into the ranger's armor.

Ouragana casts Shield, improving her frontal AC for 20 rounds. She then moves 20 feet to the west and 5 feet to the northwest, standing over Granite's prone body.
Baeros swings his long sword with great strength (+1 hit/dmg) at Animated Armor 04 [TN 14] (1d20+1): 9+1 = 10, miss. He then stabs with his short sword with great strength (+1 hit/dmg) at Animated Armor 04 [TN 14] (1d20+1): 7+1 = 8, miss.
Drav swings his long sword with elven grace (+1 hit) at Animated Armor 03 [TN 15] (1d20+1): 9+1 = 10, miss. Drav then swings his other long sword with elven grace (+1 hit) at Animated Armor 03 [TN 15] (1d20+1): 18+1 = 19, hit for (1d8): 5 damage. Animated Armor 03 falls apart.
Thaddeus fires a missile from his wand at Animated Armor 04, restoring (1d4+1): 1+1 = 2 damage. His invisibility dispels. Animated Armor 04 improves from critically damaged to seriously damaged.
